  1. exactly, but I would have said "you're", not "your" ..matt
  2. It can be seen as similar to the mummy, but with a lift hill, and the mechanism for making the train go backwards is very different. I would argue that everest does "launch" because both show stops are done using about twenty pairs of tires that (after the vekoma style switch rotates and the show elements are played and the following block is clear) "launch" the train on its way. The yeti at the end of the ride is impressive, however this is a great example of an idea that was taken too far. You see the yeti for a few seconds, the effect could have been done for far less money if the figure were simplified; It appears to have several controlled axis, similar to stitch in Stitch's Great Escape, however stitch is visible on and off for over 8 minutes. ..matt
  3. I just got back from WDW, we rode everest and I was a little disappointed. It is good, but for the amount of money and time spent on the ride I was expecting more. ..matt
  4. This is getting more and more off topic, but from 1998-about july 2005 the pedals did make the cars go faster. Infact the program allowed the cars to run at any speed between a range, the cars' control system also had a flaw that caused them to stop on the track at random after about 6 years of usage (PM or e-mail me if you want a detailed description of why this happened.) A new program was written for a different park and I modified it for use on our ride, however, the pedals were left out of the program intentionally so that the cars would always come back into the station with the same distance between them. Theoretically the ride should also get better capacity because of the cars always running at "full" speed. ..matt
  5. If you are such a genius on the Caripro intelligent pedal car ride then answer this; Where is "the rides computer"? If the pedals do nothing then why are they there? Lastly, what makes it so "intelligent" if the pedals do nothing? ..matt
  6. You left out those lovable characters in construction, maintenance, and engineering. ..matt
  7. I would not call it a prototype, it is not like the other versions they have made, but not a prototype. ..matt
  8. If you know how they work they you surely must know something about magnetism. Therefore you surely know that cellphones have very little paramagnetic or ferromagnetic stuff in them. Also the field is only strong at a very short distance similar to a flat refrigerator magnet, hold one about an inch away from the refrigerator, and it will not stick, get it extremely close and it suddenly can provide enough attractive force to hold a small amount of weight. ..matt
  9. I mean that Kings Island has been pumping water from wells down by the river since 1972. ..matt
  10. you guys don't know much about pki do you? ..matt

    Vortex

The train on the second lift is still there; we simply can't figure out how it got there. ..matt
  12. Robert, Delirium does not have an SLC500, please pm me to learn more/why... ..matt
  13. I figure in my years of working there I'm well over 1000 by now, I also have almost 100 days at WDW. ..matt
  14. Why do you think that, about "the motor"? ..matt
  15. Are you sure you are on The Beast crew? three engines? ..matt
  16. That is because Paul Steiner is a certified idiot, if you had worked at pki a few years ago you'd remember Paul, or "red shoe Paul." He still comes to the park everyday, however his red shoes have been replaced. ..matt
  17. I hate everybody, especially those who use "your" when they mean "you're". .matt
  18. I can't believe how many Huss engineers post to this board. ..matt
  19. Here is another one of those engineers who knows how everything works; please explain how this works, can't do it? didn't think so. ..matt

    April 17th

then you were not there sunday, face/off and trtr were not down sunday ..matt
  21. I have to ask why you are trusting a comment from mech I, this is not their ride. P.S. seasonal mechanic (who still has all ten fingers)... worked on sob... I only have one guess who this might be, you made it way too easy. ..matt
  22. please explain to me how having two plcs or even having one can make the ride start or stop any faster... or maybe you are only repeating what someone else told you, therefore you have no idea what you are saying when you reply. ..matt
  23. yeah Tom, and what about seat 22? WHAT ABOUT SEAT 22? ..matt
  24. Different seats; but for the record what I meant is that Delirium has not had any seats removed yet this year, they were only taken off to make winter maintenance easier, but if you do it in the spring time no need to remove them. My thing about "every fourth year" is that there are TWO engines if they rebuild one per year my math skills tell me that "every fourth year" does not make sense, maybe at MK or BGT where they have four engines. Someone clearly misunderstood something here, all coaster cars to be used for the following season that began the previous season are broken down for inspection. ..matt
  25. I hate to be like this, but why do some people know absolutely everything about everything. "...it is best to remove a couple sections to allow for the expansion and contraction during cold weather, just to make sure it doesn't loosen bolts or weaken the bolts in the process." and "(Every train is rebuilt every fourth year.)" and don't get me started on "sand blasting" the tower or any other rides that are being painted this year ..matt
