I would say there would have to be a set of stairs there, especially if the ride were to get stuck there. They would need a way to get to the passengers and get them off. Also for mateinence reasons.

I just can't wait till the 31st for some pictures and some good stories! Hopefully Diamondback will be finished by then.

I was a Merchandise Supervisor, and I remember those night as well. It always seemed like the keys multiplied. Even if we did have a hard day we always had fun putting them back. Also I loved closing Thrill-seekers every night and walking on International Street when the fountains were off. It was just very nice and peaceful, just not like it is when the park is open. One day we were super busy at Nick U. (because it was the final Paramount Sale Day) and our store was stripped bare. It was awful, so we started restocking at 9 and we were there till about 3ish. But it was the best time ever, because at some random point in the night the other supervisor that was there with me grabbed an umbrella and started dancing to Rihanna's song Umbrella. It was great. Oh also the haunted walks from Nick U to the Coney Ride Photo Office........creepy! And of course filling Steak-N-Shake at 1 in the morning with everyone in the merchandise dept.

I was at the beach waterpark today visiting some old co-workers and I decieded to take some pics of KI's skyline. I didn't have my good camera so these aren't all that great. Enjoy!

So I was at KI last friday and I rode The Crypt. It was of course good as usual, but I noticed a few things. In the que line many of those fake spiders were gone, actually I only saw like 2. And on the actual ride they play the old boarding music with the drumbeats, and when the ride starts it does that whistle sound it used to to. Also they have some white lights facing the wall where the lady is. Finally when the ride stops it does that same whistle noise. Now unless I just didn't pay attention at all this summer I never thought they used the old TR:TR sound effects through out the ride. Also they had the torchs lit on the outside of the entrance. Soooo fill me in.

I'm going to say brakes. Can we say they have completed everything back to the brakes now? If so I feel we deserve a new camera aimed right down the clearing toward the hammerhead. Don't remove the other one though because we want to see that too!! Show it all! Heck just let us bring in lawn chairs and watch this thing go up! -FC now heading to wal-mart for a lawn chair I'm going with you Fc...... wait for me!

Last year when I worked at KI it got stuck many times. To lower it down they have a secondary winch that hooks on to the gondola and lowers it down. It takes awhile to do it, but I never saw them just drop it. Btw I worked at the Action Zone store so I saw it like every day. I will say this though, I never saw it get stuck like 10-15 feet in the air, but it's possible. I just don't think they would drop it.

I think it was just the sun hitting it.

If you actually look at their site it fully explains what their doing, which is restructure. They want to open the park back up, but they need to be financially stable. I hope everything works out for them, it would be very sad for a 1 year old park to go down.

Flight of Fear The Crypt Son of Beast Firehawk Beast

So I was looking around the construction photos yet again, and I came across this picture. Just look at what that area used to look like! It's so different. There used to be a bunch of trees, but something better will be coming. I just hope they plant some trees in place of the old ones.

Does anybody wish they would move some of the webcams now that there done in two areas

My first visit was for my third birthday, even though my birthday was in march. My mom and me rode The Beastie, which I thought was the scariest ride ever! I really can't remember much, but I have had a season pass every year since then, so I must of loved it.

I always looked around KICentral since '06 but I finally joined on January 12, 2008

I laughed Last year when I worked at KI there were a lot of ghost stories that everyone would tell/listen to. Well I worked at Nickelodeon Universe Store and we had a ghost named amy, or amber or something like that. But there would be days we left the store a mess and we would come in the next day and it would be spotless. Also she was a picky ghost she liked the store to be clean. One time it rained and there was a crap load of people in the store messing it up, so we shut the doors cause it was so full you couldn't move. Well she got angry and all of a sudden the doors flew open and the lights flickered and everyone freaked and left. It was freaky and we always just blamed the ghost.

On that note, I've noticed far more people in the park this year compared to last year. My kids always count the number of rides during our visits, and, due to lines, that number is down from 12-15 rides on a weeknight visit last year to the point that we feel fortunate to get 10 in this year. Today we were there from 2 until 8:30 and only got 17 rides in. The park has consistently been much more crowded this year. Yeah KI has been much more crowded this year, and I believe that one of the reasons is that CF made KI cut down on their hours by a bunch. Most people are only getting to work 4 days. When I was a supervisor there last year we worked almost every day for at least 8 hours, but this year they can only work 5 days. I think that because of hours being cut that the lines are getting longer, cause there aren't as many associates.

This whole thread has been somewhat amusing for me. Also I would just like to add that if CF did not care about a parks history what do you think they are doing to KI. If anything CF is bringing more history back to the park that anyone else probably ever could have, well besides the original owners. CF definitely does care about a parks history, and they also tend to stick with some of it's traditions.

A chipotle would be great at KI. Given that it would probably be like 20 dollars for a burrito, chips, and a drink.
