  1. Yes, I did it last year. You just have to do it on a day when the park is in operation. Go up to one of the season pass windows and tell them you want to upgrade, and they just charge you the difference.
  2. On the last day i went my pass said times visited- 53. I swear last year was my record
  3. I don't believe they park any train on the lifts. When they had the campground I used to camp there a lot and was right next to Flight Desk sometimes camping and never saw them park a train on the lift at night. Secondly, Vortex has storage for 2 and I am guessing the 3rd train stays in the station. Flight Deck has storage track for both trains if I am not mistaken. Yes they do, but when I worked in '07 they always parked one of Flight Deck's trains on the lift. Vortex they left one in the station and one on each of the breakruns. They would put them in the sheds if it was pouring rain or something, but why would they go through the trouble of putting trains in shed if they could just leave them out and save the work.
  4. You would be correct. EDIT: in the beginning of the season when they aren't open everyday they do put the trains in their sheds, if they had one.
  5. I'm surprised they are keeping Flashback Totally 80's. Normally they change it every year. EDIT: Are they ever going to change Endless Summer on Ice, I saw it twice and didn't think it was all that great.
  6. They were indead testing DT yesterday. They only actually lifted the ride gondola once but they played with the purple lift mechanism (don't know the real name for it) from 11ish till at least 1:30 when I left the area.
  7. You could hear the roar on that video! Sounds and looks amazing!
  8. Kind of a stupid question, but I'll go for it. Do you think they will test DB at night? I don't think it's one of the tests they must do, but when they opened Firehawk they did test at night. I only know that because I was helping set up the on-ride photo booth.
  9. I was wandering that exact same thing. Add on to X-Base for 2010, and don't give KI any new rides for like 3 years. It could always be a possibility, but they will do whatever can bring them more $$$$. It's all about the nickels!
  10. I feel like I might be able to explain the entire process of how KI puts out merchandise. I worked at KI in '07 as a merchandise supervisor, so there was a lot of new stuff coming in because CF now owned KI. The merchandise dept. would get a new t shirt design and/or some other type of merchandise; and depending on how many stores they were planning to put it in they would normally order 50 of each size (or item) per store. They would then wait to see what sells. Some items would sell so quickly that we couldn't keep it in the warehouse, but if that specific design didn't sell fast enough they usally never ordered it again. They instead would try to replace it with a different design. In all if I am guessing correctly KI put out at least 200 different designs of clothing both mens and womens. In '07 KI did make a huge attempt to have a nice girls line of clothing, but I saw more girls that would buy the guys clothes instead. I worked in Thrillseekers and we had at least 30+ different types of shirts there, along with some other girlish things. At my store they never sold any of them so we never ordered anymore. So when they tried to put a girls line in '07 it really didn't work and they lost a lot of money, because we marked a lot of it down. Now I think they just stick to a few basic designs but nothing like the the line they tried to bring out in '07. P.S. personally I think that the girls stuff never sold, becasue a lot of it was not super attractive or even realated to KI.
  11. So this is a somewhat stupid question. Do you think if CF does sell GA they will sell the rides off or move them to other parks. Seeing their financial whoas I could see it either way.
  12. ohh...BB renovations totally slipped my mind. What about in the main park though?
  13. I'm pretty sure Terpy meant tranquil as in that area of the park used to be somewhat peaceful, and there was a wonderful family ride there. There were lakes and trees, something we rarely don't see anymore at KI. Once they built BL:SC that part of the park just wasn't very "calming" anymore.
  14. I agree completely. FoF and Firehawk draw enough crowds to deserve their own rest rooms back there instead of having to walk to either end of Coney Mall. I agree with you both! When was the last time KI even added a Restroom? I'm thinking when SOB was built, or was that already there?
  15. I have to go to work...so no more pics from me.. sorry
  16. Look at the bottom left hand corner. The train is still on the transfer track.
  17. For those of you who can't see the webcam This is all your missing for now.
  18. It's just moving very slowly. Probably because soo many people are trying to access it.
  19. They are showing DB on the webcam! They are taking a train out of shed 3!
  20. They show one glimpse of DB. It looks like an artistic rendering.
  21. I know! They are dearly missed.
  22. yea, i know the feeling, a few years ago i went to ride "the fireball" at our county fair and after every ride cycle the carnies would go and re-tighten the cables keeping it from falling. ahh. That's why I hate fair rides, I just won't ride them!
  23. Well at least they seem like they will be inspecting fair rides better. Those things scare the crap out of me since they are not build into the ground! So good for Tennesse.
