I liked 7th Portal, but I'd rather have 007: License to Thrill back. That will never happen though. I just hope we get a new 3-D feature this year. I love Spongebob, but I need something new in AT.

The only benefit I can think of that you have to work your way up to getting is more free tickets (Returners get more than First-Years) Yes you can test the rides, but you usually have to do it on your break. You can ride "on the clock" sometimes if there are enough people working on the ride with you.

I must say, there are a lot of people here that don't like LOTR.
-
Unless PKD's TRTR has an Icefield or something else of interest above the ride, I doubt it will have the same program as PKI's has (or had, hopefully)

Does anyone know the actual cost of TRTR? No one I've talked to really knows what it is. Their answers have ranged between 3 and 40 million dollars.

Generally, coasters are extremely easy. The hardest part about them is knowing exactly what you and everyone else should be doing in the event of a *fill in emergency here*. If you work FOF, the two hardest parts are remembering where all the fire extinguishers are (do you still remember UncleHenry), and where everyone should be and what they should be doing in the event of a fire. (Keep in mind, almost everything in the building is either some kind of metal or concrete, very little wood, very little anything that is actually flammable...yet you must know this stuff anyways)

If you work on TRTR, it seems like the ONLY place you get sent to is HB.

PKI to host "Italian Job: Stunt Track" const. tour
Alien Seed replied to Shaggy's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
It's official: I'll be going. It will fit in nicely around my classes that day. -
You know, it really helps lessen the confusion when you're not only checking in a straight line, but also when you've got rows to work with--you always know where you are. Circle? Ha! If it weren't for the seat numbers you'd have no idea where you start or finish. Now how do you like them apples, DD?
-
Why SDATHC? Do you just like the ride, what you'd be doing working on the ride, or both? This is something you really need to consider when deciding what ride to work on. It's the reason I decided to return to TRTR even though IJST seemed like a very appealing ride to me.
-
If you are the only one trained to "drive" the ride, then yes you will have rotate, but if you ask to check restaints, depending on the ride, you probably will get to do it.

TRTR is, well, a blast. Every year it gets better to work the park. The first year can be bad, though. Mine was. Generally most people that have been in the park a while don't like the "newbies;" they're harder to train and obviously have less experience. But, I've noticed that the new people have been getting treated a lot better lately. Anyway, back to the job, it's great. You get to work with fun people and in an environment that only a very few couldn't stand at all. I personally like working on TRTR because I love the atmosphere, being able to scare people extremely easily, and seeing the ride operate from an angle that very few people get to be in. Their isn't that much of a difference in training among rides. Everyone gets the basic knowledge on how to spot small kids and check their height, how to handle puke and guest problems, etc. The only real differences in training are how to check each ride's restaints and how you have to watch the ride and guests for their safety. The two rides that are the most different from the other rides in the park would have to be SDATHC and TRTR. On Scooby Doo, you have to constantly walk (you'd better be ready to walk a few miles), and on TRTR you have additional positions besides restraint checker. You have a "people counter" (also on AT) and you have a "article taker and small child watcher." Also on TRTR, you probably get asked more ride related questions than at least half the other rides combined.

SFKK had Elvira's Superstition this year. I know. I went there with some guys from my crew, got in line thinking we were about to see Stargate SG-3000 (or whatever they call it), and instead we were treated to good ol' Elvira. We waited a while for this without prior knowledge of the movie switch, and afterwards my crew wanted to kill me. ( I made them wait in line because I wanted to see Stargate)

I seriously hope I'm working right when the park opens. I'm having TRTR withdrawl and it ain't pleasant. As for riding stuff, yes I'll be in the park virtually the whole summer, but less time will be devoted to being a guest. I promised one of the FOF sups that I would take a lot of shifts there, so I plan on getting the maximum amount of hours per week as many times as I can. My first ride will of course be TRTR, my favorite. Then I'll probably hit Beast because it's the closest ride to TR.
-
Actually the poster is NEAR the ride, but not on the ride like Top Gun's posters. Yes I'm getting technical. And yes Drop Zone doesn't really have any theming relating it to the movie either, but that is forgivable because it does have it's own story related to stunt sky diving.
-
It has a movie name, it needs to have something relating it to the movie.
-
Actually the banner is up on the green building behind Face/Off, right next to the banner for Star Trek: First Contact. But, this is as themed as Face/Off gets.
-
It makes me think of PCW's TRTR and our Face/Off; two rides named after movies yet have very little to do with the movie. Especially Face/Off. It's obviously named for the movie, not just for the position you sit in, but there is nothing at all that links it to the movie; not even posters like what Top Gun has.

PKI to host "Italian Job: Stunt Track" const. tour

So which day is it happening, the 13th or the 14th? There's a big difference between the two, as I can only go on one of the days. -
If it were JUST a topspin it would be fine. I don't know of any terrible topspins. My problem is that it does not look like it will live up to what it's supposed to be: another TRTR. Granted, ours being in a building gives it an edge, but I'm looking at PKD's the way it should be looked at, for what it is (outdoors), and so far I am unimpressed. By the way, is that TRTR's entrance sign in one of the pictures? Whatever it is, why did they choose to decorate it with an elephant's butt?
