New ride for 2010?
Captain Picard replied to kings_island~thrill is me!'s topic in Coming Attractions
We was told at KIC day that Action Theater will now be a permanent Haunt attraction. -
If you are at KI all day walking around you should be burning enough calories to have something to eat. I would guess 300 pounds walking and standing for 12 hours should burn around 3000+ calories. The only problem with eating the park junk is you want more of it when you are not at KI walking.

Talk about money that has be put into parks and then look at how much has been lost. Take the money that Six Flags and Cedar Fair put in the Ohio Park and now Hard Rock Park. I think we can add Wild Escape to that list to. Take all that money and you could buy a park chain today with it. You could build a Universal IOA with that kind of money.

Agreed, I don't think CF would have invested money in the parks this year if they did not think they would get a return for their investment over the next few years, even in these hard times. I agree, just like Six Flags did in Ohio. I don't think they would have invested money in that park if they did not think they would get a return for their investment. I don't think CF would have invested money in that same park if they did not think they would get a return for their investment.

New ride for 2010?
Captain Picard replied to kings_island~thrill is me!'s topic in Coming Attractions
Yes they do and if you want to stay there you need to make reservations now. When I would take my camper it wasn't cheap. I always got full hookup and it cost as much as a room. If you stay in a tent you might save a little. -
I don't think they had it more than one or two times. I remember something about fighting and the people that was a part of it not showing or canceling.

I am waiting for someone to say this is good news. Six cents away from being a single digit stock. -
New ride for 2010?

I can see a ride transplant coming if there will be anything. This will come from a park they sell if they can find anyone to buy it. The significant thing in 2012 could be bankruptcy if they can't roll over the debt. -

Are you still as optimistic on FUN as you was before? -
As we enter 2009 it is apparent we will face many of the same market challenges we faced during 2008,” said Dick Kinzel, Cedar Fair’s chairman, president and chief executive officer. “In light of the weak economy and uncertain credit environment, we are considering alternatives to reduce the Company’s debt levels and better position the Company for future growth. One such alternative includes reconsidering the Company’s distribution policy based on its overall long-term capital structure objectives. We will complete this evaluation in the near future and will not make any decisions on the level of future distributions until that review is completed and reviewed by the board To me it looks like Cedar Fair will be in the single digits this time next year.

They certainly didn't have the money, or they'd have paid cash. If they had cash I guess they would have. I thought someone would straighten me out on the subject.

I will stick with what I said in 2003 when I said Cedar Fair didn't have the money to buy Paramount Parks. I may have been incorrect about them buying but we are still waiting to see if they have the money.
