  1. For me and my brother, we ALWAYS stop at Dunkin Donuts at our exit, then eat them on the drive from I74 to I71. On the way home, we always stop at the Fields Ertel exit and eat at one of the many restaurants, mainly Skyline, Longhorn, or PIZZA TOWER!
  2. No its Andrew Zimmern from the travel channel show about eating food from around the world.
  3. It's funny that Mason/Cincy is getting so much snow. As is Dayton. But here in Columbus, we had a sunny clear day!
  4. I was thinking the exact same thing! Here in Columbus, it's completely clear and sunny! Yet an hour to the southwest its listed as "Heavy Snow" and expecting 2 or 3 inches. Crazy.
  5. Ha you beat me to it. I was gonna post the same thing when I saw that pic. Almost confirms the single rider line IMO.
  6. Even though it was expected, that KY Post article tells us that there is for sure an auction for the first rides. Cool! I'm sure I'll need a few hundred or maybe $1000 to win... Anyone have any to spare for me?!
  7. Getting an image on the webcam just requires a little patience; one should assume its heavily bogged down. Sit on the page without manually refreshing and you should get the feed for a while....
  8. Those may be the first seats that they see, but they wont necessarily be accessible. Think of SOB's line. It goes into the exact same location of the station, but makes you wrap around the edge and back again toward the center. So just because it enters there, doesn't mean access to all the seat queue's will be there.
  9. If you look at the Behemoth pic, you can see the spiral staircase is attached to the support. On the 2nd from the right support in that pic of DB, you can see where the staircase will attach. The stair way to nowhere on the end will remain that way, as there is another on the beginning of the main break run. I assume its so a cherry picker can access the MCBR or breakrun without having to climb on track or over a railing. The spiral stair case will start at the break in the railing close to the right, then spiral down the support.
  10. Looking at the pix of Diamondback.com, DB drops shockingly low right in front of the entrance to the Crypt! Should be a crowd and coastergeek pleaser alike! 200th post!
  11. The MCBR hasn't been lifted into place yet. The track in place approaching it goes under the MCBR, and then the track spirals upward to the MCBR.. As of now it's sitting on the ground it looks like.
  12. I wasn't around for that.... anyone have any retro pix?
  13. and how exactly did your post help the situation? Well played sir, well played. Like was mentioned, nothing is currently happening.. And it's the offseason. People are bored!
  14. I figure this applies, even if it is the CP blog... kinda funny http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm
  15. While I don't argue that S&S is a great company, with some great rides... They have produced some stinkers: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3465.htm?picture=1 From what I've heard pretty much across the board, these rides are awful (painful). While 135mph would be awesome. I don't think it'll feel all the different from TTD or KK. And it ruins the sheer speed by ramming it into a brake run immediately.. Just my opinion.
  16. I'll say it first.. LAME. So it BRIEFLY hits 135mph.. Whoopdee doo. Right before the uphill turns, it clearly hits a break run of some sort, as the top speed drops drastically; basically killing the launch rush in no time flat. Not only that, the layout is boring. Highly disappointed.
  17. A piece has been added after the second drop where it begins to bank toward the hammerhead.
  18. Well it couldn't have been known before trains started testing, and I believe that was in April. So at most a month, wouldn't you think?
  19. ^That's not necessarily true. Maverick was built and tested.. it was found something was wrong with the heartline, redesigned, deconstructed the heartline, and rebuilt it in 2 weeks or so... And only opened a few weeks late.
  20. Holy head/arm chopper, Batman! Courtesy of Don I hope that's as close as it looks.. Great pix.
  21. Yea, what do you mean it never snows here anymore. Granted I currently live in Cbus, but I know Cincy is no different. I remember a day in March last year where we had 20 inches of snow? I hardly consider that "no snow".
  22. Drivers do freak out, and I've never understood why. Living in Cincy for so long, and now at school up here in Cbus, I was surprised to find it even worse up here... But assuming the workers get to KI, I'm sure they can handle a little snow and cold.
  23. Something tells me if they didn't do work on any day "not prime for construction work," they would never get finished. They do work in the cold, and they do work in light snow (a dusting like today won't prevent much of anything from happening). Even wind, while it can stop vertical construction, doesn't stop work all together. Heavy snow and such can definitely delay a project, so let's hope there isn't a lot of snow this winter! Slight cold, and a dusting of snow shouldn't stall much. Think of parks like CP where it's far snowier, and far colder in the winter, and they still manage to get coasters built on time. Construction workers are adapted to working in cold.
  24. Here are some photos of the topped off second hill that I took on Wednesday the 26th on my way back to Cincy from Cbus. Sorry for the quality....These were taken with my phone, and the last one I attempted to zoom in some. Enjoy! KI's new skyline!
