  1. That Idea sounds most like a most triumphantly heinous failure.
  2. ^ We'll get you on the Trek side of the Force some day.
  3. During an earlier era in The Racer's life (1980's I think) during early morning testing the ride would often get stuck in between hills 3 and 4 due to lack of weight and sometimes colder temperatures. This was solved by adding a small chain lift on hill 4 to allow the ride to get over the hill and compete the course. Later the ride somehow stopped needing the extra boost so the chain was removed and only anti-rollbacks were needed.
  4. For the most part that argument been gone since the beginning of Diamondback. But the concrete vs. cement one really confuses me because they are two different things.
  5. ^ Yes Though one of them is not me. Edit: POST 1/2 K!
  6. I don't want to jinx it but of all the arguments we did have this offseason not one of them have been about footers vs. footings.
  7. I once rode The Beast in light snow in mid-April. Got that credit out of the way.
  8. I kind of wish they would call it the Bridge. So when we're on the Mic I can say : "Ensign Crusher, to the Bridge!"
  9. Nos Amours Les Expos! Is about as much French as I know and I haven't needed to use it since 04'. Have fun on the trip. I lived in both Montreal and Toronto and in my opinion Montreal it's more of an American city than Toronto withholding the language barrier. If you want to stay in an English part of town try the West side of the island closer to the airport or on the very south side across the river closer to Vermont.
  10. One of My favorite part of this is that KI is finally leaving the 90's. That whole decade after Grunge seemed to be a contest to find the brightest and the colors that would most likely fade to a puke-shade in 7-years. The Yellow and Red combo has been out since the Mid-00's and I can't believe it's taken 14' and beyond to realize that.
  11. The Soviets launched a zephyr in the 1960's. The Zephyr is the best ride in the park. Edit: Kings Island ignored to trademark their best ride?
  12. ^^ BB1, I know you've only been here for 2 years (a long time in Internet years so "only" isn't really appropriate) but there have been WAY worse times than squabbling about trademarks in the off season. I remember in the 08-09 off season there was a 50 page topic dedicated to bashing on one person for writing King Cobra as "King Snake".
  13. Peanut Butter Sandwich. It helps only living 3 left turns away from the park.
  14. Always an awesome thing to see in this desert known as the off season is an oasis known as a trip report. It's always a sight to behold is the park in high shadow. Most people head to The Beast when the sun starts to lower so these are very good and unique shots of the park.
  15. I don't have a real problem with the whole capitalization thing but I hope that in the coming times the "good relationship with the park" we're trying to create doesn't make the Board become the park. Any time the Base takes over the Fan Base or really any intervention it often doesn't go over too well. See Star Wars and Harry Potter's Fan Bases.
  16. ^ We have yet to discuss barrels themselves.
  17. I'm not quite sure what video or year I saw it in but it was very interesting. A Vekoma representative was at the IAPPA show and was giving a interview. He said that the company was shifting it's market overseas because of the saturation and poor reputation in the US at the time. A few seasons later Vekoma started to make many great coasters in Asia and Europe without the head banging and roughness associated with Vekoma coasters of the 90's. I could easily see Intamin going the same route trying to restore their image just like Vekoma is now.
  18. Intamin will be living off of Parks buying spare parts for many years. This can go on for about 10 years where they will either make a series of coasters that change their image or go the way of Arrow, in the same way as Arrow.
  19. ^ Darien Lake's Mind Eraser still has no loading gates. Not to many people stepped in front of the yellow line unless the ride was stopped.
  20. ^ If Reliability all of a sudden means Advertising Money, then yes.
  21. ^ You and Lucy can at least wait outside Haunt Attractions together.
  22. For Diamondback opening day we got in line for traffic at 5:30. Then the parking lot opened at 6 and we waited in line at the security gate (no longer around) for 2 hours and then the park plaza opened at 8. Gold Pass people where staged at the entrance at Nickelodeon Universe just behind the SDATHC entrance while the others where staged behind the Royal Fountain for 1 hour. Then at 9 the ride opened to Gold Pass holders for the first time after a quick running of the bulls to the ride's entrance. We got on quickly after a 15 minute wait and the ride was opened to the rest of the park's non-Gold Pass holders at 10.
  23. ^^ I should have looked that one up. Or I could've just learned it in Elementary School instead of drawing band logos on my Homework.
