Has anyone seen the TV ad for Allstar Weekend on July 24th?
-
When the park originally opened up, it was stated, that you could see on a clear day for 18 miles.

Going to VisitKingsIsland a few minutes ago; I was looking at the "Webcams" page but this page only shows one webcam "Diamondback"; does anyone know what the links are for the others that are talked about here in the forums?, (Racer and IStreet). Also there is a poll page for the park; when and where did this take place? : )

Were the stores just closed, or were there employees in the stores? I ask, only because since there was no power for some time, there would be no way for items to be rung up and sold as well as no A/C making the stores quite miserable to be in anyway. They were open and occupied, dark and giving out samples, but no sales. They kindly informed guest that the scales and registers were without power; and said they were sorry.

I'm confused. What do lights being off or on in stores have to do with a generator in the parking lot? Or rides being in operation, How I read it hamoperator, implies "Don's statement is false due to not seeing rides in operation, a generator in the parking lot, and light still being off in stores. " Don stated the power was restored to these places in 3 hrs, that could mean via a generator as well. Whether they decided to turn light on in that store is up to them. Just because you saw no lights on does not make Don's statement false. The generator was only lighting the parking lot at the entrance to the gold lot at the cross walk, the stores had no power at 11:30pm when I left. The problem was not fixed in three hours. There was still a loss of a phase going on. another post on here indicates that upto 24 hours, there was still power loss and problems going on. My point is alot of guessing by people not there to expierance it; and it was not 3 hours. There was no restore that night, and the only generator viewed was the one I spoke of, were there other generators running the rides? Don't know; but wouldn't be a bad idea for the park to invest in. The park was running on one phase.

Can DH define most? My family was there until 11:30 pm; I seen first hand what was and was not running, and cannot agree with his statement. Just cause power was restored does not mean the ride was running!! Or that each ride needed to be inspected by the same maintenance crew that was obviously already busy.... It is funny how what people "read" and "understand" are two different things, as "Power on" and "operating" are two seperate things. Power on, would be lights on in stores, not seeing a large portable generator in the parking lot lighting the way for patrons. You have to have "Power On" to operate those rides, and with no power, they won't run. Not selective operating of rides and shows. I guess you would have to had been there to see the difference. I'm curious: 1. Who was actually there to expierence this? 2. And; when did they get the phase back up and at 100%? There is a post here that on 7/5 they still had issues.

To do as you suggest, means the park would not operate at its full design in entertainment for it's patrons until the beginning of Halloween Haunt (cooler weather) The shows have already been cut down by this time. The park was built in and operates during a hot weather season here for the most part. Some people come to the park to ride one specific ride, see certain shows. To visit, buy a ticket and then to find out the ride you were hoping to experience was shut down for this reason is not fair to the patron; I see people from other states on a regular basis at the park; even other countries (4th of July we viewed a large number of Japanese guest at the park).

I hope between this time period there was no crowd; the waterpark closes at 7pm. But as an employee you would have known that.

We went by ALL the water rides including WWC and they were ALL CLOSED. All evening. Between 6:30 and 10, we seen staff preventing people from going with a sign saying closed temporarily...???

Even with spending nickels; they could have offered free pop (or free refills for those with cups) with the heat once they knew it was going to be a rough nite, allot of the air conditioned areas you would normally visit were very warm; the only cool business we found was the arcades in Coney Mall. This could have saved some face with the guest.

No walking, they kept her going.

We were at "Don't stop the music" when it happened; they lost half the audio of the show (they had mics, but lost the bass speakers); International street lost power in all the shops (at 10:30 the shops were still dark), The fountains stop putting out water, Snoopy on Ice didn't happen; All the water rides in the park were down some with boats stuck going up the lifts. Racers were down for awhile but then started to run, Delirium was not working, Boo Blasters were down, The candy shop on Coney Mall was down. Drop Tower had some other problem, it was loaded with test people (plastic wanna be humans). Allot of the parking lot lights were out (at 11:30 they still had portable generators running lights in the parking area by the gold lot). Vortex was working, The Beast was working, Sponge Bob 3d was working, The I tower was working but had an intermittent problem coming down, Diamond Back was working. It kinda looked like they got selected rides up to run to keep people happy.

Thursday a few of us will be bringing some disabled people to the park for a day of sensory feelings (sights, sounds and smells); These guest have a need to be changed. I noticed one large bathroom as we enter the park between the gift shop and the girls bathroom; are there any others located in the park that would accommodate a staff person and someone in a wheelchair? You never notice them until you need them. Thanks

So who owns this stage? Kings Island? Great Wolf? Why doesn't the park use this stage for its own shows?
-
They gave us the option of keeping our old pass or getting new ones. We chose the new ones; but I have friends that did keep their old ones (because they didn't want their age showing on pictures). But as usuall; call the park for the up to date information.

With GLEE mentioning KI more than once in such a short time; what would be the chances of GLEE doing some kind of show at the park? Like the Brady Bunch did? I could see this being a major attraction event for the park this summer.

Peanut has been told by a manager of the park, Peanut cannot dance near the front stage area; Peanut is not allowed to dance the music 15 minutes prior to a show. Peanut is allowed to dance from the back of the viewing area or out on the sides only. The manager that gave Peanut this information said: 1. they have had problems at other parks 2. there is a liablility 3. people have asked/complained that Peanut works for the park (Peanut does not, Peanut loves the shows). 4. why is Peanut there season after season dancing (guess we buy a season pass!) We have emailed the park with no reply. Today 5/29/10 Peanut tried to talk with the manger in charge that gave Peanut this news; Peanut tried to get him to just allow the 15 minutes before each show and he said Peanut cannot.

They make a small fanny pack (black about 4x4x2) has it's own belt attached; it's waterproof and holds passes, keys, a cell phone and some cash. My wife got it at a hiking store. After loosing my cell phone on Raptar 2 seasons ago and watching a supervisor climb out on the drop grate to retrieve it at 10:15. It was worth getting.
