Thanks for the report!
I was there Friday night as well. Crowds weren't as bad as the opening Saturday a couple of weeks back.
Didn't do any Haunt mazes but I did get rides in on Flight of Fear, Vortex, and Diamondback in the short time I was there.

I got the boneless wings, order of 12, when I was at the KIC event a couple Sundays back. Had the opportunity to eat here.
The wings were delicious, and the price was on par of a similar establishment outside of the park. I say try it, definitely the best food value in the park!

Diamondback - Back row
Beast - Any seat in the middle of a car
Racer - Same as Beast
Flight Deck - Front Row
Vortex - Park bench by WindSeeker
My favorite seat on Invertigo and Firehawk? The red Ford Focus parked out in Row 53.
Haven't had a ride on Diamondback in Row 10 or back in a couple of years. I'll have to try it again as I've heard it jackhammers real bad.

Don't think I've ever seen a thread like this on KIC, of course I could always be wrong!
When you ride the coasters at the park, what seat or row is your "go to" row? I'll share a few of mine.
The Beast: first row, definitely at night. Can't see anything in front of you.
Diamondback: Rows 1 or 2, nothing in front of you but pure track. Makes the first drop that much better for me.
Vortex: 5-1 is a must, honorable mention 7-1. Amazing coming down the first drop
Flight Deck: The first drop and the ride altogether seems much more enjoyable in 7-1
Additionally, I had my first front row ride on The Racer last night. Racer's PTC trains have much less legroom in the front than The Beast's PTC trains.

Arrived around 9:30pm to find a decent sized parking lot. Parked in Row 53 and proceeded to the main entrance.
Ended up getting a lot of rides in the few hours I was there. Diamondback in Row 2, a front seat ride on Blue Racer, a front seat ride on The Beast, 2 rides in 7-1 on Flight Deck, and a ride in the last train, first row on Adventure Express.
Went through two Haunt zones, the first being Cornstalkers and the other Backwoods Bayou.Currently writing this at the Haunt hangout, Steak and Shake on Fields Ertel. A LOT of KI and KIC people here.
Decent time tonight up at the park. Hope to check out more of the mazes within the next couple of weeks. Until next time...- 4

I still have problems remembering the names of some of the people I work with...
-
It's all good buddy. I have a horrible memory when it comes to remembering names when I first meet someone.

It may still be there, but it doesn't spew out gak!
I miss those days, I grew up with Nickelodeon but at least I checked out Nickelodeon Studios back in 1998 when I went to Universal Orlando.
These days, some blue guys are running the show...

What is the best way to get to Cedar Point from Cincinnati?
Take I-75 up to Bowling Green and take 6 from there to Sandusky or take I-71? What do you all do when you head up there?
-
This brings back memories. I remember the slime maze that was there and wanting to go through it so bad, but never had the chance to.
-
I renewed for 2014 and went with the Platinum Pass.

You'd think with the 21st century and technology the way that it is, that all of this would be digital. Could already be, I don't have a passport...
-
I'm assuming that change took place after the 9-11 attacks? I remember when you didn't need a passport to get into Canada...
-
I'm on the east side of Cincinnati so probably about the same up to Canada's Wonderland. 4-5ish hours up I-75 to Detroit then across into Canada?
-
I'll be going up at least once, but I wouldn't mind (time and money permitting, of course) visiting some of Cedar Fair's other parks.
-
I'm on the fence at this point about next year. I know at the very least that I'll get a gold pass, but I'm leaning more towards platinum. I'm having trouble justifying in forking out the extra dough for the platinum pass.
I recently purchased a new car (2013 Ford Focus, new with only 580 miles). I've been wanting to get up to Cedar Point BAD and have never been, but with the old car that I had, 235k miles and all, I didn't want to chance driving that distance. Next year I'm determined to get up there for the first time.
My question is, should I pay the extra amount or just stick with the gold pass? The installment option has me interested. Thoughts?

Thank you for sharing with us! It was one of the most memorable days I've had at Kings Island and I've been there more times than I can count.
Thanks again!

Sadly, and I said the same thing to the group I was with Sunday, I never got to experience The Racer backwards.
If that's not enough for you, I didn't even experience any of coasters other than forward Racer and Adventure Express until 2008 and 2009!

Yes, one side of The Racer was turned backwards in 1982 to compensate with the excessive downtime and closures that The Bat faced.
It ran backwards from that time until it was turned forward again in 2008. One person who knows more about The Racer than anyone on here is Mr. Racer himself, Don Helbig.
Originally thought it was done in 2007, so The Racer ran backwards for the first full year of Cedar Fair ownership.- 4

Edited to reflect your username in the trip report. Happy?
I was half asleep when I initially wrote the trip report and I could not remember your username for the life of me.

Thanks for the report!
Was wondering how the crowds were last night. I went to the Lewisburg Haunted Cave on the other side of Dayton last night and it made for a very muddy time...
