  1. I have not seen park maps for this year yet, but the park usually prints diffrent maps for diffrent times of the year. The first time the park is open until ten is not until May, if the maps they had printed for today are only for April, then there would be no reason to mention the fireworks.
  2. On sat. the high is going to be close to sixty. Depending on where you look, on sunday the high is only supposed to be 49. If the weather does not get above fifty I believe that some coasters may have problems and not be able to operate, especially steel coasters.
  3. SGA is scooby's ghoster coaster, I think. The Ghoster Coaster at PKD is a copy of The Beastie at Kings Island. It is not like the Ghoster Coaster at PKI.
  4. Where have people heard that PKI is getting the Wax Meuseum exhibit?
  5. That is correct. The turn in diffrent directions now. If you walk through the ride while it is not running, you can see small remnents of PT. Things like walls of brick that used to be the background for certain scenes. They have just painted them black.
  6. it depends on the attraction. If they do not need to remove anything, it may not start till the very end of the season. Since we have not clue what if anything is comming 2005, we have no clue when construction will start.
  7. They say that it shouldn't. The ones up at Beastie get twisted all the time. This means that it takes a while to get Beastie trains cycled. However, at Beast and Racer, the seatbelts are being installed diffrently and shouldn't hinder capacity.
  8. And it doesn't own the golf course either.
  9. SOB will not be affected. Only Beast and Racer are getting seat belts.
  10. Yes, and the park will be open every day in March - July 2005 from 9:00 am - 10:00am. Let's remember that this is still a work in progress. Wait until it is offically posted.
  11. I have several problems with the way the story was told. First of all the doors at the tower automatically lock behind you. Now, to be honest that may have been diffrent back when the incident happened. The second issue is that if he leaned out off the stairs far enough to be injured by the counter-weight, he would have fallen to his death before getting cut in half. The weights are pretty far away from the stair case.
  12. May 9th is mothers day. I doubt that this BAFFD will be as busy as last year.
  13. From June 12 to July 11 Carowinds will have the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade. Is this a sign of things to come at PKI? Hey, would you look at that? Post 100 for me.
  14. granted it was 1999 when I worked there, but I doubt that much has changed. Most of the space in the back of the Paramount theatre was used as break room for the dancers and technichians. There is some office space there and some storage space. I don't know if there is any FearFest stuff stored there, that was before my time.
  15. I feel so bad, I have been away form the park too long. I was trying to type out the load speil that Scooby and Shagy would say at SDATHC, but I just couldn't get it right. If anyone else can remember the spiel, please post it. But, I can remeber the copters spiel: Hey kids, wer're about to leave the space port. Stay seated and hang on tight. Hear we go!
  16. These are all of the speils that I have used in my career at PKI. I think I have got them all. In general: For your safety and the safety of those around, please do not sit stand or climb on any of the metal handrails. Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle: Ladies and Gentlemen, please remain seated, we are experiencing a minor delay in the station due to loading, please remain seated and your ride will continue shortly. Ladies and Gentlemen, for your safety picture taking while riding is strickly prohibited. Ladies and Gentlemen, just a reminder, everyone, including small children must remain seated throughout the entire ride. Small children are aloud to sit on the lap on of an adult. Ladies and Gentlemen we would like to remind you that Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle is a family ride and we ask that you please behave appropriatly. Flintstone Boulder Bumpers: Hey everybody and welcom to the Boulder Bumper Cars. For your safety, please stay seated with your hands, arms, and legs inside your car at all times. If your car gets stuck and will not go, turn your steering wheel in a big cricle. ARE YOU READY? I CAN"T HEAR YOU. ARE YOU READY? Hang on tight, hear we go. Eifel Tower: Good Afternoon and welcome to the Eifel Tower. The tower stand 320 ft. and is a 1/3 scale replica of the Tower in Paris, France. As we aproach the 265/275 ft. platform we would like to remind you that Ohio state laws strictly forbids you to spit, throw, or drop anything of anysort over the side. Feel free to stay as long as you wish. When you are ready to go back to the ground, please form a line a the doors maked "Enter Here." Please exit to the doors to my right/left, thank you and enjoy the view.

Maybe you are getting over your fear of TRTR. You should have somone who cares about you take you on it again. TRTR is probably my favorite ride in the park and if I didn't like working in HB as much as I do. TRTR would be the ride I would want to work.
  18. Kings Dominion has posted it's perks for the gold season pass holders. Does anyone know if these perks are similar to the ones that PKI will be giving it's own pass holders? Specifically does anyone know if the first in line perk will be coming to PKI? Also, does anyone know if this would be everyday, or just specific days? This could make things rough on the Ride ops. It will be tough to do start-ups with guests breathing down your necks the whole time. King's Dominion Season Pass Perks
  19. I used to work the AZ stunt show. Probably the main reason they don't do it anymore is that the show would clog up the whole entrance to AZ and from fifteen minutes before show time until the show was comptlely cleaned up the big circle around the water tower would be roped off. This would cause problem because people would stop to see the show and the area of congestion would extend all throughout AZ. There would be no way for people to get through.
  20. Breaks for minors, especially those that work doubles, can be difecult. It just takes some practice. You just have to look out not only for when they go on break, but when they will need to have their second break. It can get quite complicated. But, with practice, it gets easier.
  21. That is not as bad as the early open 8:45 am to 12:00 am and then having to clean up Rivertown after Fearfest until 2:00 am. On top of that having to be back at the park the following morning again at 8:45 am. That was one of the worse shifts ever. It was probably ten times busier at the Wonderpark today then it ever is. This is because it was a day off from school for most kids. On the other days, it is deader than PKI in the winter. I think any shift at the wonderpark would feel twice as long when there is absoulutly noone there. Plus, with the exception of Reptarrunner the workers at the wonderpark are complete morons.
  22. Where exactly would this parade run. Ever since this topic has opened, I have been thinking about the concept and I can't find a route in the park that would not only accomodate the floats, but also all the spectators. What exactly is going to be the route of this parade?
  23. I think that PKI will do the same thing. They have been keeping the two parks expansion pretty much the same over the last few months.
  24. Anybody have any idea of what this announcement might be.
  25. My very first year in the park I worked as an usher at the Paramount Theatre and and Action Zone stunt show. Thr true problem was, as it was stated above, that the show would clog the whole are near Action Zone. The show was really cool, they would do two diffrent shows each day. One would be them doing the high jump off the tower into the air bag, the second one would be full body burn where they would light one of the stunt men on fire. The problem with the burn was that it was very weather dependant. If it was too hot, they would cancel the burn. There are a lot of rements from the show still there. If you look in the ground around the circle, you can still see the hole where the poles for the rope would go. Also, the sound tower is still there. The coolest part of that show, was chilling in the green room between shows with the stunt crew. As far as changing the show because of school violence, I am not sure that is accurate. When I was there, they never mentioned changing the show for that. The show was there for one season, 1999. The year Action Zone opened. Maybe I am a bit partial, but that was the last good year in entertainment. It had the swing show in the paramount theatre, the stunt show in AZ, the animal show in the International Shoplace, the Scooby-Doo show in the Enchanted Thatre, the slime bowl show, two shows at the back porch a country revue and country Karaoke, and a show at the bandstand. Plus, they had a roming band, and a magician that worked in HB. This was before the time of FearFest, so the entertainment department had a lot fewer responibilities.
