MYSTERY NO MORE--KI BUILDING HYPERCOASTER
MrPostman replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
Best theming in the park though has to be the stagnant pool on BLSC, one can only hope the splashdown of 2009 isn't doomed to a similar fate. Why even add theme elements in the first place if you aren't going to do the upkeep? It only makes your park look older and delapidated. -
AWESOME Beverage Deal for Passholders at KI!

This will never last. Unlimited drinks for a family of 4 for $6.99? I'll be burning this up every visit until they discontinue it. -

Without a doubt one of the best events in Cincinnati, year in and year out. With an 8 year old and 11 year old we have enjoyed this night for many years. Being so close to the fireworks (over Lake Como) provides an extra wow factor. If you've never been I would highly recommend it, however take something with you to occupy yourself/kids as getting out of the parking lot (post fireworks) will take you no less than an hour .

"I do want to point out for men that you should either a.) buy swim suits that don't have little metal rivets or buttons (since a good amount do) or remove them from your suit before you get to BB. The workers at BB do enforce that rule and many guys are turned away from using the water slides since they have them on their suits." Please don't overlook this, I saw it enforced dozens of times during my last visit, people waiting in line only to be told at the top that their rivets (on back of shorts) excluded them from riding and they had to make their way down the stairs, squeezing past every single person on the way down. FYI: My trunks have rivets on the front/side pockets; also it was 83 degrees when I last visited BB and the water in the water slides was FREEZING. In fact if it wasn't a pool of water it was nearly intolerable especially early in the day. I would suggest maybe spend more time at the dry park and evaluate the temp as the day goes on. Festhaus is good option as their is lots to choose from there as well, I've heard the spectrum of reviews for Wings, few of them glowing, and for $60 for a family of 4 I want to know what I'm getting. Also the idea of being stuffed at an amusement park is not my idea of fun. Firehawk/FoF/Crypt usually have the longest queue times, being Tuesday though should cut down on that as well. Flight Deck/ Racer are nearly always walk ons and provide very good bang for your buck. The "avatar" suggestion is a good one as well, I rode this for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was a nice surprise, quite an intense little ride to be in the middle of NU. Man, all this talk has got me in the mood for a visit!! Have a Blast!!

I agree, super weak.

Thats a really good idea since their music is representative of a backward culture.

Old enough to know better, too young to care. KI could always upcharge it if capacity is low. The ribbing I have administered here is all in good fun btw. I always thought that wheel at Coney was pretty fast.
-
I am of the opinion that KI needsa large, my first post referring to the small wheel at coney was to pre-empt coaster from jumping in with a bunch of annoying and unrelated facts about that tiny wheel and that its only a few miles away blah, blah, blah. I knew he would jump in anyway and it was easier to get him fired up about that piece of crap than I thought. If I can't express opinions about the goings on at KI on a forum dedicated to KI then where should I post?

"what happened to theme park?" The Crypt happened.

"spoken by a person that likely had no idea on how much money is spent on maintenance for park rides in a given year" You mean like 99% of the general public? I don't care about maintenance costs, I don't care why they do what they do, I know there has to be alternatives to killing roller coasters, I care about ride experiences, and as far as Vortex goes that ride experience isn't fractionally as good as it was before they trimmed that corkscrew to DEATH. The train used to fly through that section giving an awesome sensation, it is dead as I knew it. I go to KI to ride rides, not to evaluate their intentions and/or motives.

Been there ,ridden it. At 45 ft. its puny dude. You obviously are jaded and are unable to give an unbiased review. Its great for where its at, just like that puny slide. My 6 year old loves those rides. And you should be happy to work for an amusement park, because in my book you have to have a ferris wheel to be a true an amusement park. KI deserves an appropriately proportioned Ferris Wheel to propel itself into the realm of amusement parks and leave behind its failed attempt at becoming a thrill park (see: every coaster trimmed to death, topspin in a garage, oh and don't forget that small 78 MPH albatross near flight deck)
-
I haven't willingly rode Vortex since they trimmed it to a crawl entering the corkscrew. Terrible. So pointless. "But really why launch 70mph and then slow the train by 20mph, when you can just launch it at 50mph?" Why not just let Vortex go 8 MPH the whole ride? yay. trims are the devil. I agree with the previous post why put a band-aid on a fire. Just beef up the ride do the maintenance and suck it up..
-
It must be nice to have a ferris wheel. (and that puny excuse at Coney don't count)

"That last one sounds like an off brand of flour! Actually, I think I have seen cookies with that brand name" Thunder Valley then, wait that might be a name brand for a laxative. They should name it "Dirty Dozen" but it would HAVE to have 12 inversions
-
In-Law then? Those are generally pretty scary, unpredictable, and a few are downright enormous. Ravine? no? Ravenous Glitter Gulch Bison Moccasin (as in water moccasin) Thunder Mill (with a mill type aparatus usng the splash pool) Mill Valley

Thumbs up to the Crypt keeper idea, being out of the spotlight for a while seems like that would be a cheap license to obtain.

KI is going to a family friendly business model and lowering food and drink prices. That's the funniest one i've heard.
