  1. Nope, people down here go to Cedar Point, not Geauga Lake. And we have our own Six Flags park in Kentucky.
  2. Yeah, most people in Cincy have never even HEARD of Geauga Lake! Case in point... In high school a few years ago (when X-Flight was in operational, and the park had changed the name back the year before), I saw a friend of mine wearing a Geauga Lake sweatshirt. I asked how the park was, and he gave me a blank stare. Turns out, he had gotten the sweatshirt as a gift, and never had been to, nor even heard of the park. Again, just because you have been there doesn't mean a good portion of people have. A VERY small percent of people in Cincy have even heard of Geauga Lake. Usually when you say "amusement park in northern Ohio" they think of Cedar Point. No mention of Geauga Lake.
  3. How do you know it will always be there? Are you a Cedar Fair exec? Do you call the shots in the park? Tear it out, its a POS.
  4. I would take out The Beast and the Eiffel Tower.
  5. I'd chain myself to it with a chainsaw, and start cutting that thing down myself. Beast has no real point in being at the park, no one really rides it anymore.
  6. Yeah! I love demon drop, and I never go up the Eiffel Tower anymore. There's really no point for it here.
  7. I would love to see The Beast removed, and have a nice big parking lot put in its place. Parking can be so crazy at times, we need to expand, so tear out that piece of junk, and fill it up with parking!
  8. Oh pre-season. One of the best times of the year...
  9. I've had a frozen lemon aid thrown on me at work once. Of course, that was a once in four years thing, but still, people can get mad at you for doing your job, so get ready.
  10. OK, after having a meeting with my teacher, I have decided to focus the project on Nickelodeon Universe. Our goal for the project is to do something that offers something new and different from something already out there. My vision is to do an interactive and entertaining website aimed at younger kids to advertise for Nickelodeon Universe. I feel that the Nick Universe section on KI's website is boring for younger kids, and aimed more at adults. I think that if the area is aimed at kids, why shouldn't the website for the area? If the kid plays on the site, then begs their parents to take them to KI, then my goal is accomplished. So yeah, if anyone has any ideas for a site based on younger audiences, that would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Remember, this website is a promotional piece. The goal would be to get people to come to the park. History section wouldn't be good, because we want to get people coming to the park this year, not come to the 1993 version of the park.
  12. As many of you may know, I am studying digital design. One of my major projects this quarter is to create an interactive website covering some aspect of Cincinnati. Of course, I will be basing my website as a promotional site for Kings Island. Before I begin work on my project, I have a survey that I will be sending out to people to get an idea of what people would like to see in this sort of thing. EDIT: Look down at the post 6 posts down. I have changed my concept slightly. Any suggestions on that concept would be appreciated.
  13. The Beast line crossed the path, and went along the side of the path along the lake. That way, LaRosas and the arcades were not blocked off. Yet, there was a line of people in the way.
  14. So the line for The Beast used to go all the way into the main Rivertown pathway, blocking anyone from going through. Does that mean KI should have gotten rid of The Beast then too?
  15. Wasn't this the show that brought us... "EVERYTHING IS UNGODLY!!!"?
  16. Ya know, there's such a thing as confidential information. If someone knows something, they won't post it here. So on that note, I will leave this topic, and not come back in. Too much bickering between people.
  17. Some people on here act like they need it.
  18. I do not mean you have no right to be sad. We are all sad about the move of the ride. What I said is that you do not have the right to whine about it. Unless you know the reasons for the removal of the ride, you cannot complain about it. You say they had no reason to remove it, well how do you know? They did have a good reason. While I may not have talked personally with a PP exec, I do think I have a good idea on the reason it was moved from talking with others. We all can be sad about it, but come on, a ride is a ride. We have LOTS of rides to go enjoy. If you are STILL sad about the removal of one ride, then maybe you need to go out and do things outside of Kings Island.
  19. Oh, so you know the reasons for removal? Well then, enlighten us with the minds of the PP execs. I'm sure you know EXACTLY what they were thinking.
  20. Seriously, it's a ride, get over it. Scooters was not lost, it was moved. If you love it so much, go to Carowinds. If you love Tiques so much, go to Holiday World. The park has their reasons for that decision. I love IJST. I think it has a good location. It fits well with the Coney Mall feel. And if anyone would have an excuse to whine about Scooters being taken out, it would be the crew who worked on it every day. The crew loved that ride. Friendships were made at that ride. Spending every day at that ride you get a connection to it. So unless you spent every day at that ride for at least an hour of your day, you don't have much reason to whine about it. The park had its reasons, and they were good ones.
  21. Paramount did a great job. Don't tell me none of you like Action Zone. And stop your whining about Tiques and IJST! Tiques had horrid capacity, and don't even get me started on having to use gasoline to run that ride. These were VERY good reasons to get rid of Tiques. Sure, I miss them too, but they had their good reasons to lose Tiques, and since they were planning of removing Tiques, I'm sure that is the reason they put IJST in there, it was going to be an empty space anyway.
  22. So will The Beast get a flux capacitor this year?
  23. Well, my portfolio review was today and it went well. Of course, as always, they had some criticisms on the animation, but that's what a critique is for. Plus, being on a time limit always hinders you. If I had unlimited time to work on it I would have changed it slightly, but deadlines need be met. And yes, all of the photos were taken by me.
