Wild West World Revisited
Too bad they don't sink the money into Joyland. I think that park has way more potential than Wild West World, especially a Murphy Brothers ran Wild West World.

Same Ride, Different Ride Experiences?
Beast at Day versus Beast at Night. During the day it is probably my #5 woodie, at night definitely #2.

Park Full
Last year they had a few bring a friend cheap days. I took my mom and brother out there the weekend after labor for $10/each, they park wasn't crowded at all, either.

Official Details on Kings Island's Ride Warriors Weekend! (ERT Info Released!)
What sucks is my family is coming into town that weekend, but I think I'll still hit up some of the ERT and (hopefully) tours. I think the point of the deadline was to make sure people didn't join this site just to get into the event. It is supposed to be an exclusive event for true enthusiasts. If you are a true enthusiast then just join one of the organizations shown on that page. My wife isn't registered here, so I think we'll join ACE, I've always wanted an excuse to. I personally think it is very cool that they allowed KICentral at all, it is really above and beyond and you shouldn't complain about it.

What would you like changed to KI in the next five years?
Oh Lord....To each his own, I guess... 90 degree heat, spinney rides, and pasta........recipe for disaster You would think it would be a problem, but many parks have them. Personally, rides only ever bother me if I am near empty, never have a problem after eating. Knott's had a pasta buffet that was pretty good, cost 12.50/each but it kept my friend and I full for almost 10 hours .

I'd love to see an all you can eat pasta buffet with a reasonable price. I've been to a few other parks that have had them and they are always my favorite for park food.

Cedar Fair Cut to Long-Term Buy
I've been thinking about investing in FUN, but kept holding off because I figured the dividend would be cut. If it isn't cut by a whole lot I think it is still a good buy.

Paramount Names Remain for '09?
I agree about the new ride in BB. But 1. they really dont have much room unless they take out an attraction or 2 but i really want to see over there is maybe a makeover, like new paint on the slides. make the atmosphere look nicer some fake palm trees by the pool maybe just something to make it not look like a colorful concrete and metal jungle. I would really like to see an activities pool at BB, not sure where they'd put it though.

Question on "Line Jumping"
I'm not sure what CP used to have, last year was my first time there. First, for parking they just kind of looked at weird, front and back and then told me to drive on in. Then at the ticket window I tried to buy a new season pass, but they said I had to buy a regular ticket then buy the new season pass at guest relations, so I decided to see if last year's would work. Go to the gate and they told me they could not scan it and I would have to go to the information window. So I went to the information window and I filled out a form and they made a copy of the pass, but I don't think they ever scanned it (they took the card to a back room for a few minutes, but I think they just copied it). And then they gave me a comp ticket that got me in.

Paramount Names Remain for '09?
I used to work at a Plant in Tulsa that used to be shared by North American Aviation and Douglas. So North American merged with Rockwell to become North American Rockwell, who changed their name to Rockwell International and then sold to Boeing. Then Douglas merged with McDonnell to become McDonnell Douglas and then was bought by Boeing. Finally Boeing sold to Onex and the company was named Spirit Aerosystems. Anyways, inside the plant you still see every single company's name, it was always really cool to see all of the old logos. Completely agree, I would love a few more classic flat rides.

Question on "Line Jumping"
I would go with not very well trained. They all acted like they had never seen a Platinum pass before. I had to go to the information window to get a "Comp" ticket because they couldn't scan the pass at the gate.

Question on "Line Jumping"
I was at Knott's last weekend (where it was in the high 70s, which felt like the high 80s after the cold up here in Cincinnati) and there was almost no line on the Ghost Rider. So the second time we rode it, we walked through the long queue until we got to the stairs, where a whole group of people came through the handicap gate that had been left opened. I thought it was kind of rude that they cut in front of us, but it didn't really bother me much, I figured if the gate was left open on purpose that is were the line really started. So on the next ride we went through that gate also, but I made sure not to cut anyone off. Some oddities that made me feel like I was line cutting at Knott's: First, they have lines for the 'First Car' not just the first row. So those lines were long but no one was getting on the second row, so my friend and I would jump the rail to get in the second row. But we did ask the next 3 or 4 groups in line if they wanted it first. It still felt weird getting in front of a bunch of people. Second, people there would just randomly not get on the ride like they were waiting from someone else, but they wouldn't let anyone go in front of them. Because of this my friend and I double rode the Silver Bullet and the Xcelerator, but we got back on after the gates had shut and no one came through. The line wasn't long on the Silver Bullet, but we had waited 30 minutes on the Xcelerator to get on the first time. So it felt weird to double ride when there was a 30 minute line, but the seats would've gone empty otherwise. OT: Anyone know if a KI Platium Pass runs Jan-Dec or April-March? They let me use my 2008 pass at Knott's, but they never scanned it, so I wasn't sure if they should've let me use it or not. I was planning on buying a new Platium Pass if mine hadn't have worked.

15 Year old girl gives ride op the ride of his life....
^ I find it even more disturbing they let the ride complete its cycle and didn't slowly lower it back to the ground.

Trim Brakes
Is it just me or does the trim on the Red racer seem a little strong than the one on the blue side? I've noticed the last couple times I was there the two sides would be tied going into the trim, then the blue pulls way out into the lead. I didn't notice this at all the beginning of the season.

Dodgem's/bumper cars
I love bumper cars, but are barely enjoyable this year. Can barely even feel the hits.

X-Treme Skyflyer
He didn't make the model skycoaster himself, not sure who did make it. He had two rigs, never saw any others on the road. EDIT: I'll leave it at this, I did some REALLY stupid stuff in my carneying days, I don't consider riding skycoasters on my back and feet first one of them. I personally think that it added a lot to the experience and I felt completely secure the whole time. The ride I did it on was always inspected before the events started and I could always watch the inspections because they were always setup next to us. They operated the ride all over the place, including state fairs, and they ride operators and owner always would ride in unusual ways to drum up business.

Two Armed Men Try To Rob SF Fiesta Texas
I don't get if the guards got the vault open, why didn't the two guys take any money? Or did the guards lock themselves in after the two guys left? I'm confused. Sounds kind of like an inside job if they knew where the vault was.

X-Treme Skyflyer
Which part is so stupid?
-
X-Treme Skyflyer
You are just as secure on your back and feet first as on your chest head first. The feet around the cables thing is pretty stupid though. I skipped that one, but I saw it done a few times by the ride ops. They offered to let me do it, but I declined.
-
X-Treme Skyflyer
That is why being a carney has its perks. I am sure you could find some place that would let you do it on your back, probably not KI, though. I know the model guys would let you if you paid them a little extra.
-
X-Treme Skyflyer
Ask if you can do it on your back. Much better experience in my opinion. When I used to be a carney we did some events with a guy that owned a model Skyflier and he would let us go for free (because we let his people do our stuff for free). What's best is he would let us ride anyway we wanted to: On your back, feet first, head down (feet around the cables).

Cedar Point Feeling The Tough Summer Economy
My wife and I have gone to KI 8 times this year and CP twice. So far we have spent a total ~15 bucks on food. It costs so much I just leave the park when I get hungry. It is pretty bad when someone is willing to walk half a mile to their car and leave just to get food. If they just charged a small premium on their food I would eat there all the time and probably two meals a day at CP. I am real interested to see if their 'per caps' actually have gone up since they hiked their food prices.

Medieval Fair Raids Geauga Lake For Booty
^ That will at least keep it safe for the near future. The bulldozer destroys all hope of it coming back. Think of people that get frozen when they die. They at least have a chance of coming back, if you get buried there is no hope, except maybe for a clone of yourself.
