  1. Nice photos, I was there 2 weeks ago for the first time, but didn't want to carry around my camera. Now I wish I would've. Not sure how you don't think mean streak is rough, I think it is the roughest woodie I've ever been on . How where the lines over all? I was there on a Friday and Saturday and I could walk onto most rides. Longest wait was 45 mins on Raptor, MF, TTD and Maverick.

    The Crypt

Personally, compared to Top Spins I've ridden elsewhere (namely state fairs), this the ride program is very weak and not at all worth the wait. I personally like the theming in the que and don't care if it is in the main ride or not. I personally prefer to be flipped than look at theming. Again personally, I think I would prefer the building to be removed and you could watch the world go by, or I wish the building was at least kept completely dark for most of the ride. (I know there are problems with them removing the building, I am just saying that I think it would be the actual ride experence better)
  3. Microburst right on top of the park. That Ferris will was built in the '20s IIRC. Did a lot of damage to the entire park, closed it for over 20 days in June. Even when it reopened most of the rides were still missing their facades.
  4. CoastersRZ: Just be sure you don't do this to your ride Or http://farm1.static.flickr.com/48/16744344...044d91f.jpg?v=0
  5. Wasn't Holiday World a "If you Build it, They will Come?" park? (honest question)
  6. This isn't just a Cedar Fair thing. I know the Texas Giant's MCBR almost stops you, always have. I've never ridden it without the trims, so I have no idea if it hurts the ride. I know that it is already rougher than SOB with the trims, so I think it would be hell without them. EDIT: The Texas Titan's MCBR also does or almost stops the train. Wild Cat (just like CP's) at Bell's had a couple of trims on it. Etc, Etc. Most rides I can remember that have MCBRs use them and slow you way down, not just CF parks. That being said I do HATE the jerkiness of a lot of the trims. I would think that you could make the brakes have less force over a longer distance. Does anyone have a picture of the magnetic trim brakes on The Beast?
  7. That doesn't surprise me at all. I lived in Wichita for a year, leaving last June. There was zero excitement from anyone when that park openned and IIRC it was pretty expensive for the rides they had, like $30. I would've gone if it had a reasonable price or if it was pay-per-play. It was also on the outskirts, which by itself isn't a problem, but when you are overpriced and not exciting it makes it that much easier to never visit. I am surprised anyone would buy it, though .
  8. The only rides that have ever bothered me since I was 8 are Ferris Wheels (when they are stopped, I ride them whenever I can, but it still gets to me a little) and Drop Towers on the way up (I blaim my wife for this, they used to never bother me). When I was at Stratosphere all the rides were closed due to wind, so I didn't get to try them . XScream may have gotten to me .
  9. I always think the ride time on Delirium is too short. The load/unload time always takes forever, too. Someone always doesn't put their shoes in the box and then they have to unlock everything and restart the process, anyone that stupid should be kicked off the ride . I was at CP weekend before last and maXair was up and running both days I was there. I thought the ride time on all of CP's other flats was really short . EDIT: Replaced omitted word
  10. What is the story of Johnny and the Eiffel Tower, for those of us who weren't around in 83?
  11. Another vote for riding Firehawk first. On a Tuesday it'll probably have the longest wait in the middle of the day, so run back there and knock it out before the line builds.
  12. I didn't know they offered discounted tickets at the gate? Still don't get the day & 1/2 for the price of 1 day, though. Or do you???
  13. The tubes give a great jump, but they snap and break like mad. We bought the prototype of the Trailered bungy, so we would have two, and it came with the tubes. Over the course of the summer we had gone through two full sets of bungies. Our other bungy, just like the ones at KI, we used the typical bungees. Only a handful of those would break a year and when they did they never snapped anyone like the tubes would .
  14. At Sliver Dollar City if you go in after 3pm you can go the next day for free. Along the same lines, I seriously doubt KI would ever do that, though.
  15. Okay, I rode it tonight. I personally still think it is the weakest Top Spin ride I've ever been on. I liked the theming in the Que, but where was it inside the ride chamber?
  16. The park I grew up at had "Date Nights" where admission was 2 for 1 and most food and drinks were 2 for 1, from 5pm 'til 11pm. I went just about every date night for 3 years straight .
  17. If you are busting your butt on a 4-in-1 eurobungy, giving two minute rides you can only do 80-90 people an hour and that takes at least 4 people that know what they are doing. Small kids will also hurt that capacity. So if they included it the price everyone would be ****ed about paying to ride then having to wait hours to ride it. I was a manager for a small traveling carney company for 5 years, and we traveled with a 4-in-1 Eurobungy. Events that rented it and let people go for free were INSANE. I am talking about 2 hours lines at events with 500 people. Luckily in the five years I worked there, we only did a handful of events that didn't upcharge for it (all churches). I've also worked pay-per-play events that we had a two hour line charging $8 per ride, which were okay since we were making money hand over fist . But that was also at events with 40K people there. Usually charging $7 per ride we would stay steady but never have much of a line. Coasters - What kind of bungees are they using on it out there at Coney? Is it the standard bungees, or the surgical tubing?
  18. Am I the only one that wishes they would just remove the building around the ride, and just make it an outdoor, unthemed ride? I personally love when they just have top spin rides go crazy with flips, etc outside where you can see people/sky/ground going by. I haven't been in The Crypt this yeah but last year I thought it was very weak, especially because they would just stop us to look at something for 30 seconds. When i did it the sound was also not working, so that probably hurt the experience.
  19. Yeah I was at CP last weekend for two days and it seemed like a lot of their rides went down for short periods of time. I got to ride everything, though it wasn't that big of a deal - actually on some rides it was nice. Wicked Twister broke down right as I got in line both times I rode it, so it completely cleared out the Que and it was only down for 10-15 minutes each time .

  21. I've been to the park 6 times this year and the only rides I've noticed broken down were The Crypt once and Delirium once.
