  1. Man, I hate Q-Dots... I hope CF never gets them, unless they do it like Disney. Or it is just a small up charge for your whole group.
  2. I actually got a little turned around in that area last year during the haunt, the fog was so thick I could barely see my wife next to me.
  3. I was wondering the same thing. The whole point of a single rider line is to fill every seat and the people in the line can't pick who they sit next to or where they sit.
  4. Uh, the insurance company has been a major part of this from day one. And how long is Cedar Fair's deal with Santa Clara, California? Who on earth would put an amusement park on leased property with all the concomitant investment without the assurance of a long term lease? That would be "dumb and crazy." The accident at SFKK was settled several months ago. And insurance was involved there as well. By all accounts, the settlement was outside the range you speak of...And that's all I will say about that. Thats what happened to my Home Park . They had 5 year leases with the county, for over 50 years. Then some new commisioner decided that it would be best to kick out their best tenate to put in a no-charge parking lot. The very small park had to leave over $5M in infrastructure behind, not to mention the couple of million they spent packing everything up, like the Zingo Short term leases on land requiring major infrastructure investment is just a bad business plan.
  5. The major difference between New Orleans and the rest of the country is NO is setup to have vast secondary damage. The secondary damage from Katrina did much more damage than the Huricane itself.
  6. I've rode Row 10 twice, it is definitely a lot tighter than Row 1.
  7. I know it doesn't bother some people, but I hate being nickel and dimed and being charged to print my own ticket for a waterpark/amusement park would keep me from going, most of the time. Just like in college I used to eat at McDonald's a few times a week, until they started charging me for BBQ sauce, for the 2.5 years after that I ate at McDonald's in that city about 5 times.
  8. I noticed the smoking problem a lot more at CP last year than I ever did at KI. It seems like people were smoking all over the place, in lines and everything. Six Flags has always been tough on smoking, I was at SF Over Texas about 12 years ago with my brother and a friend who both smoked. They got caught smoking in the line for Flashback. They were both very respectful to the employee and put them out, which I think is only thing that kept us from getting kicked out.
  9. Last year they checked me on every tube-less slide.
  10. It was a prefect time to be stopped on the lift too, 70 degrees and night time. Much better than getting stuck at 3pm in August. But I would take either
  11. I was on the top of the stairs when it stopped on the lift. I was pretty upset I wasn't on that train .

    May 1st

Tonight was completely dead, but Friday nights are almost always pretty claim, even in the middle of the summer.
  13. Yeah, KI was awesome tonight. I wish I hadn't of had cereal for dinner, though. My stomach started bothering me after a couple hours of non-stop riding. I finally got some pizza after the helix on BLSC almost made me sick . I think the trim was about the same as on Saturday. Still had massive airtime over that hill.
  14. It is just like ticket master. Nickel and Dime, I have actually not gone to ball games because I got so upset at all the ticket master fees. I personally hate being nickeled and dimed, so this charge would really bother me if I was planning a trip to SF.
  15. The whole park was dead tonight, it was great. The only rides with any lines were FH, FOF, BLSC and DB. Firehawk was the only one with a long wait, in part because they were only running 1 train. We also double rode SOB, not sure the wife will ever allow that again... Still had seat assigning , I asked to go to the front and he said okay, but I heard him turn other people away from the front a few minutes later. Anyone know why the seat assigner is mic'ed?
  16. Yeah I was surprised to see them gone today, but they actually had all the switchbacks closed, also.
  17. No wasn't much of a line at all tonight, we rode in the fron once with a 5 minute wait and towards the back with a ~25 minute wait (about 15 minutes was during a "minor technical difficulty," the train got stuck half way up)
  18. I am bigger thighed, not huge (mine are 22" around unflexed). This is my experience, I've rode twice in row 10 (not sure which colors) and I had about half an inch to spare at the black line. Today I also rode row 1, went one click past the black line and had over an inch to spare. So I would recommend going on a calm day and trying out a few different rows, there seems to be a decent amount of variation. Edit: Besure to take everything out of your pockets too. The seats are narrow so anything in your pockets will be pushed up to the top of your thigh.
  19. I went to my prom with an Ex girlfriend, I really wanted to go with someone else but couldn't find a date, so I went with her. It was a lot of fun, I am very glad I went. It was actually the last time I saw a lot of people form high school, which was a good thing for a lot of them .
  20. Vortex was driving me nuts when I was waiting for The Beast . Hopefully it goes away before long.
  21. Why just the red Racer?
  22. I think the trims and/or MCBR were weaker on SOB, Racer and Beast.
  23. Looks like the private event was very busy
