My best coaster ride has to be my first ride on Vortex, also my first looping coaster ever. Me and my cousin, also a first-time looping roller coaster rider, were in the same row, scared to death. Somehow my aunt and my mom got me to get on the ride.. I'm still not sure how but I am very, very thankful! As we went up the chain lift, the sky was overcast and as we slowly ascended to the top, my mind couldn't help from gazing out to my right to look at the countless inversions I was about to face... and somehow the fear completly vanished as I saw the true beauty of all those wicked inversions. The park was empty, and through-out that wonderful day I rode Vortex 12 times, a few of them back-to-back. That ride was simply amazing.

I was looking around KI's website and on their Youtube page is says "Coming soon! Kings Island TV!". I'm pretty sure I haven't seen anybody post this yet, but forgive me if I'm wrong. That would make things a lot more organized. I think it should be a sub-form seeing that it is gaming, instead of it being its own outside forum.

That is awesome! I'm suprised they're allowed to do that (Are they???). Anyways that sound like an awesome experience! Oh, you just reminded me of one! Way back, when I was 7ish, I was riding Phantom Theater and the ride-op stopped the ride mid-course. Then suddenly the animatronic in front of us (I think it was the Houdini one) turned his head and said "It looks like you won't be going anywhere anytime soon! Muahaha!". Now that was awesome!

Oh, I just remembered a nice memory from 2 or 3 years back! Me and my cousins were riding Congo Falls (It was like 65 and rainy that day!). And just to be funny, the ride-ops started trying to keep us on the ride. Let's just say we ended up riding that ride over twenty times in a row that day. To put icing on the cake they'd attempt throwing their ice water at us while we were on the lift lol!

I was at the park today and noticed that the ride-ops for The Zephyr were actually playing a game of Simon Says while the ride was going, it was really cool to see ride-ops doing creative things like that! What things like that have you seen ride-ops do on their rides?

Hmm... looks like the park is at least trying to get the themeing up a bit, cool! I was going to ride it today but I decided it wasn't worth the wait.

What themeing do you think was new? Anything major or just a few more unused haunt props?

If KI was more strict with dealing with line jumpers, we wouldn't have this problem. I agree with IBEW_Sparky in the fact that it should be stated that all line jumpers will be kicked out of the park. If that is publically displayed, you can bet you won't see nearly as many kids jumping, if any at all!

I'm suprised the ride program or themeing hasn't changed yet, after all these complaints. The ride experience would be 2 times better if they would just bother to throw some fx lighting on the goddess, clean up a bit, or at least get rid of the little door in the waiting chamber! Does anybody have any idea how hard it would be to bring back the fountains? (Terpy, more than "yes" please!) Because that would be awesome if they could do that.

As I've said before, I will not be suprised if we get a Cartoon Network themed Kids are next year. Just look at this: Knott's Berry Farm (Cedar Fair) is now partnering with Cartoon Network for an event for the little ones themed around Cartoon Network called Get Animated. I'm thinking this is a huge preview of what is soon to come to KI's kids area.

Hmm.... who e-mailed Screamscape? Oh wait that was me! lol. It took convincing the editor that I had not just completly forgotten what the ride used to be like before 5/15 .

When I first saw the title of this thread, I was really excited! That was until I read that they changed it in the wrong direction! I really do hope they make it more thrilling after all of these bad comments on it! I might be able to take a calmer ride program if it included so theming, but having a basically non-exsistant theme and a boring ride program just doesn't make this ride worth riding!

G-Forces on most roller coasters don't really bother me, they're just enjoyable! But that's coming from a guy who loves SoB, so who knows!

My friend (Vortex10.... he's a lurker, not a poster) didn't get a confirmation e-mail, so he emailed that e-mail and is still yet to get a reply. I told him to e-mail Don, so he did and he hasn't gotten a response from him either. So now, its looking like I'll have to miss the first half of Saturday's event. Anyone have any advice on how to get a response or what we should do?

Yep, he is the king! I believe (although I could be off by one or two) that he got in 114 rides in on one day. Pretty hard to beat, but I think with a good enough day I could get it done!
