I have not been on that ride since it was days of thunder, but sad to see it closed. that whole little section of the park is run down.

I have wondered this myself. I would think this would be just as good a place to expand as any.

What is the "Beast graveyard?"

does not matter to me, but my buddy was upset because he was planning on going that night. I probably won't make it up until a few weeks after opening weekend anyway.

One of my friends wrote KI about this last week when he noticed the event removed from the calender. Their response was it was canceled due to a "conflict." Your guess is as good as mine as to what that means...

I turn 30 March 25th. Too bad the park won't be open. If so Beast and I could celebrate together.

I don't think I ever rode it before it was converted to smurfs, I do remember my father saying "the smurf's used to be a big TV..." I am thinking my first visit to KI must have been 1983 or 1984 because The Bat was still standing.

Do you know if they are opening the whole park this year or is the section with the Twisted Twins and Mile High Falls going to be closed again for 2009?

Why don't they just paint it black and red, forget the jet theme and make it a sequel to The Bat. It would keep with their retro theme. "Something old is even older...again..."

we have something like that in Georgetown ky. it just has a couple slides and a lazy river so it is smaller scale, but it is city owned.

I just read that article over at Screamscape suggesting that Premier rides some how electronically shut down Maximum RPM and Slippery When Wet over nonpayment. That is interesting on several levels if that is actually true.

4. Flight Deck to get a new paint job I agree. Skip the whole jet fighter theme since we can't call it Top Gun anymore. Paint it red and black and retheme it as a sequel to The Bat. That would be a "cheap," "new" ride.

Her work said that they could be used anytime and they are $22.95. We are buying some to use next weekend, but the people we are going with might cancel and we are just wondering if we could use them when we go back up in October.

My wife can buy discounted KI tickets through her work. Will those also be good for Halloween Haunt or will we have to buy tickets at the park?

Holiday World's woodies are awesome. I would have to give the woodie trophy to them just because all three are home runs. I love The Beast and racer, Son of Beast is unique and fun but a little too rough. Raven, Legend and Voyage are three of the finest Woodies out there and are all one one fantastic little park. I do love both parks though. They are just two very different places.

Well Fairly Odd Coaster is the stupidist name I know for a coaster, so almost anything would be better in my opinion. I would love to see it go back to either Beastie or even Scooby Doo, but I'll take GOB over the current name.
