Kings Island TR, 9-27-08
Nope. There are enough rides and coasters at KI to keep me satisfied. SOB really jackhammered me. No offense meant to anyone who does enjoy it, but it's just not an enjoyable experience for me, even Mean Streak at CP isn't as bad.

SOB hurts me. My first ride, I came off with 3 bruises, a backache, and a headache. I gave it another chance, and the same thing happened the second time. There will not be a third.

Another Huge PTR 9-27-08
I was in total awe at the huge piece of track sticking up over by the Crypt. You're right, pictures do not do it justice. Great photos by the way, I saved a couple of the photos of DB because I really like them!

Are there any rides you won't go on at KI?
I am SO GLAD I am not the only one. I won't get on Shake Rattle and Roll either. Any ride where the ride spins, and the seats spin separately from the ride always make me feel like I'm going to lose my lunch. I think it's because of the speed of the spin. Delirium spins slowly, and also gives you airtime, so it's great. Those crazy carnival rides that spin so fast that everything is a blur, nooo way. SOB is a definite no for me. It is just too painful for me to enjoy the ride. When it comes to "Like father, like son," in this case the fruit fell a LONG way from the tree.

No, it's not really my thing. I tend to get annoyed or even angry when things jump out at me, I just don't like it. I did like the haunt theme of the park though. They did an excellent job on that. I prefer to get on the rides around that time, when the lines are pretty much nonexistent. After 11:30 last night the lines in Action Zone vanished. It was great, empty queues all around.

Kings Island TR, 9-27-08
I usually do PTRs, but my phone did not feel secure in my pocket, so I decided to leave it in the car. I'd much rather have a wordy TR than lose my $200 camera phone. I arrived at the park around 11:15 am. I saw that the parking lot was quickly filling up, and I tried to stay positive as I searched for a spot in Gold Pass parking. I wanted my adrenaline rush right away, and I missed my baby, so I headed straight for Drop Tower. Line wasn't too bad yet, about a 10 minute wait. Great thrill as always. I always seem to have a terrified first time rider next to me. Next I hit Delirium. This is when I noticed that there were bees, and lots of them. I don't know why there were so many, but I was certainly not happy about it. I was fresh out of the shower so I smelled like a fruit salad, therefore the bees seemed to, well, make a beeline for me. I was watching the ride and when it was in full swing, a bill flew out of someone's pocket. I didn't see where it went, and I wasn't about to jump the fence looking for it. Next was Invertigo. By this time the weather was starting to clear and the lines were getting long. I noticed a headband and a hair tie under the loop. I love the view when you're in the queue right under the loop. I always go for the front seat (the one by the ride op station). I had forgotten the amazing Gs you get on that ride. I grayed out for a second coming out of the loop (most likely because I hadn't eaten yet. Gs tend to affect me more intensely when my sugar is low). I decided I needed another boost of adrenaline, so I went back to Drop Tower. The line was a little long by this time, but I didn't care because it's my favorite, and capacity isn't bad at all on that ride. I realized I hadn't ridden Backlot Stunt Coaster yet, so I went for that one. Walked right on to the second seat. That ride never fails to leave me with a smile on my face. I headed to Vortex after that. A little bit of a wait, but it really wasn't as bad as I'd remembered. I still enjoy it, but it could be a little smoother. I understand that it's getting older, but it's still worth a ride. I also got an aerial view of Diamondback, my jaw dropped in amazement. That coaster is really coming together. I got chills just looking at it. I was getting pretty hungry by this time, so I headed to the Stunt Crew Grill for lunch, and sat right where I could watch Drop Tower. After I finished my food, I got in line for it (yes, that may sound crazy, but the line was still kind of long, and I've been blessed with a stomach of steel). I rode it twice in a row that time. I decided to see what the wait for Firehawk was, grabbed some Dippin Dots, and got in line. I waited over an hour and barely moved through the queue. Not only that but the train got stuck on the hill for a few minutes, and the ride ops weren't communicating with each other and were sending too many groups out. I got frustrated and ducked out, and went for Flight of Fear instead. The line was an hour, but worth every minute as always. I didn't hear or feel the trim that time, amazing. I can't go to KI without riding The Beast, so I headed over there. I CAN NOT BELIEVE the massive size of the DB supports. What was really intimidating was that huge piece of track sticking up over by the Crypt. I couldn't stop looking at it. Pictures do not do it justice, not in the least. I waited all of 5 minutes to ride The Beast. I ran all the way to the loading station. I didn't feel trims on this either, there was a definite difference. It beat the living crud out of me, and my hair completely came out of its ponytail holder. There was a point when we were going so fast that I actually screamed. Those trims had to have been turned off. Either way, still totally worth it as always. I headed back to BLSC, which had about a 30 minute wait. I got on the front seat too. Came off smiling again. I decided I wanted another ride on Invertigo before I started my power ride on Drop Tower, since I'd ridden everything I wanted to ride. This time I noticed several hair ties, several coins, another hair band, and a park map below the loop. People really need to understand "please secure all loose articles." I ate a bag of peanut M&Ms while waiting in line, and didn't gray out that time. This is where I went crazy. I rode Drop Tower 6 times in a row. Each time I waited about 20 minutes, but I didn't care. I love listening to it, watching it, and riding it. On one of those rides, there was a first time rider next to me who, when we were going up, said "I don't like this. This is too high." I looked above me and saw purple, green, red, and yellow on the tower. I was like "Dude we're not even halfway there." His response was "ARE YOU SERIOUS??!!!" and by the time we got to the top he was swearing like a sailor. I threw my hands up on the drop like I always do, and he screamed bloody murder and grabbed my hand on the way down. I wanted a ride on Delirium, and the line was very short. I got on in 2 rides. By this time it was cold, the park was full of fog, and the haunt zones were in full swing. I really like how the monsters got into their personas. I ran back to Drop Tower, and ran all the way to the gate. I was the only one in line, and the ride was about half full. I ended up getting 3 more rides in before I started to feel a little funny. I looked at my watch to see that it was 12:30 am, so I headed toward the exit. On the way, I stopped at a gift shop and bought the little i (heart) Kings Island keychain with the rhinestones, I've been eyeing that one, I really like it. I finally got home around 2 am. Ride count: Flight of Fear - 1 Beast - 1 Vortex - 1 Invertigo - 2 BLSC - 2 Delirium - 2 Drop Tower - 13

I think I saw you. Did you see a girl with a gray and white long sleeved Sinful tee?

TO: Line Jumpers especially adults.
I absolutely loathe line jumpers. I always say something, and I admire you for doing so too. I even have the anti-line jumping shirt from CafePress, and have worn it to CP this year. I was at KI today, and saw several line jumpers get removed from Drop Tower today. They were really cracking down on it when I was there.

Your top 5 rides at KI?
Glad I am not the only one who finds BLSC good enough to put in a KI top 5. Even after riding everything at CP and KI, I still find BLSC to be a really fun ride. I like the initial launch, all the crazy twists and turns, and the pitch black tunnel. Lots of elements packed into one ride. It was definitely a surprise the first time I rode it. Drop Tower is my favorite flat. I get to ride it Saturday, I can't wait to be reunited with my baby again (watch out Jasper, you've got competition ).

Your top 5 rides at KI?
On my third KI trip of the year, I was on a Delirium and Drop Tower buzz. It was kind of a drizzly day, and lines were pretty much nonexistent. Toward the end of the day, I rode Drop Tower, then Delirium, then Drop Tower, then Delirium, then Drop Tower twice, and left. I had barely gone 50 feet in my car when I was hit like a ton of bricks with nausea I don't remember having since I had food poisoning. I had to sit in my car and take deep breaths to let the feeling pass before I could start driving again. I woke up the next morning very sick, and stayed sick for a couple of days after that. I guess it wasn't the rides. I can ride like that all day and be fine, but that time I guess there was a virus that decided it liked me.

You might be a KI addict if you...
Of course! I got a friend who is terrified of heights to throw her hands up on Drop Tower the second time we rode it together. It's a process, not an impulsive reaction for most people. If you ride 3 times in a row, and follow my instructions, soon you will be free falling with your hands in the air. Don't look up, for God's sake DON'T LOOK DOWN, and (I know this sounds nuts, but) take a deep breath and let it out slowly, and try to relax as you enjoy the view going up. When you're ready, try to release your fingers from the handles, still holding on with your palms and thumbs (I know a lot of people go up holding on for dear life). Next time you ride, try to ride with your hands resting on your legs. The next time you ride, you should be able to throw your hands in the air when it drops.

You might be a KI addict if you...
Just to clarify, you did forget the * that excludes Power Tower and Drop Tower from that mission statement, right? But I love the 'Going full Force' to CP in your sig!! If someone is truly terrified, I won't make them ride it. I know several people who love coasters, but are scared to death of free fall towers. I have a friend that can not ride anything that spins or she will get sick. She can't even ride Delirium without puking, but she will ride all the big coasters and drop rides with me, so it's all good. I'm a pretty understanding person. But if your list of things you won't ride is pretty much a list of my favorites, I probably won't include you in my plans.

You might be a KI addict if you...
I was dating a guy for about 2 weeks when he told me he doesn't ride anything that goes upside down. That one didn't last much longer. I ride the tallest, fastest scream machines around, and if you go to a park with me, you'd better be in the seat next to me, not the scaredy-cat watching from the sidelines. Anyway, You might be a KI addict if: - You are at CP, see MaxAir, and automatically think Delirium. - You know the FOF "movie" by heart. - You get mad when all the Stunt Crew Grill seats closest to the center of Action Zone are taken, because you wanted to watch Drop Tower while you ate. - You no longer jump or hold your ears when you're next in line for Invertigo and the train goes roaring through the station.

How did I know you would be the first to follow in my wayward footsteps?

Your top 5 rides at KI?
My top 5 at Cedar Point are: 1. Millennium Force 2. Maverick 3. Top Thrill Dragster 4. Wicked Twister 5. Magnum Angie, who strays off topic within a topic that she started

Your top 5 rides at KI?
If the backward Racer was still alive, it would be number 5 on my list instead of BLSC. I'm still fuming over that change.

Your top 5 rides at KI?
I didn't see a topic like this, so forgive me if there is already one. They can be coasters, rides, anything in Nick U, or even BB rides. I'm not a big fan of water parks, and I haven't been on Slingshot or Xtreme Skyflyer yet, so here's my list. 1. Drop Tower 2. FOF 3. Invertigo 4. Beast 5. BLSC

What do you think about AE?
If the lines seriously die down the way you guys are saying they might, be prepared for a whopper of a ride count in my TR, because I'm arriving at 11 am and staying until 1 am when the park closes. My name is RideWarrior on another website, and I plan to live up to that.

What do you think about AE?
At the risk of n00bing myself.. What time does Haunt start? I only went to KI once during HH last year, and I can't remember.

Collage
When I first read this I thought, "Hey cool! Someone must have taken a ton of KI pictures and made an elaborate COLLAGE out of them!" Then I opened the topic to find no such jpeg/bitmap/etc. I am severely disappointed. *bursts into tears*

Is anybody a bit nervous about riding Diamondback
Bring on the forces. I've never been on a B&M hyper, but you can bet my hands will be in the air all the way on this monster. It looks more amazing every day. I'm ready to ride.

What do you think about AE?
Terror comes into play when I'm hanging on Drop Tower.. but I run back for more every time. I can not wait to go Saturday and do my Drop Tower marathon. I had a friend bet me that I couldn't ride it 10 times in a row. He's about to lose.

Guests Say The Darnest Things
Every time I go to CP, I hear someone refer to TTD as Top Fuel Dragster. I was in line for Delirium. When it was in full swing, someone in front of me looked up at it and said "Can you imagine if that thing snapped off?" The looks he got were priceless.

Kings Island TR, 9-19-08
I never get tired of Invertigo either, I always hit the very front or very back seat. Drop Tower still makes my palms sweat, but the adrenaline rush is so worth it. I'm jealous of all your rides on The Beast too! I actually like LaRosa's, but my favorite place to eat is the Stunt Crew Grill in Action Zone. Except for one time, I've always gotten fresh, hot food and excellent service there. They are fast and friendly. One of the many times I ate there this summer, I was given a hot dog with a bun that was so hard it crunched. I took it back and politely showed them what was wrong. The girl gasped in horror, threw out my entire plate of food and made me a fresh plate (even though nothing was wrong with my fries), while apologizing to me about 20 times. I got about twice the amount of fries I did the first time. The girl at the register even apologized to me for what happened, and told me not to worry about paying for the second plate of food. I was blown away by their customer service, and they can bet that I will be a return customer.
