  1. Just keep your eyes open, we will see. Only a select few at this point knows what’s going on in the area. It could be DA is just leaving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Rides are not installed on a set timetable. Attractions are added per business needs. So if customers are wanting a Giga, they will build one if the ROI is a +. Things change all the time. It’s not what park gets what every year, it’s business demand. In order to stay competitive the business needs to provide what the customer wants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Looks like I won't get to work Haunt this year. I just recently found out I'm losing my full-time job in October. My office was in Blue Ash which would allow me to leave the office on Fridays and go straight to KI to work Haunt. To cut cost, my company is closing the Blue Ash office and I'm working from home which is in NKY. This does not allow me time to make it to work Haunt on Fridays and just not feasible with gas. I'm really disappointed since I wanted to be able to experience what it was like working at KI. Now my focus is finding a new full-time job to help support the family. Maybe next year if everything works out I might be able to get to experience it.
  4. Nobody has posted about the fences?? Wow. lol
  5. Plans can always change depending on market demands. Never rule something out...well some things on here you can. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You want to know what KI's #1 demographic is? Families, always has been. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. They are called the PTC 360. I don't know of any park that is using them and they are not on the company's site either.
  8. ^ I highly doubt they would install the one in the lower right of the video thumbnail in the old Flight Commander spot. I could see the GP thinking that FC was back.
  9. That's funny. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I would be all for Millennium flyers on The Beast as long as they would work without modifying the track, but PTC did unveil an individual car train (PTC-360) a could of years ago at IAAPA. I'm not sure if anyone is using them. I think an individual car train would relieve a ton of stress off the track and allow for faster speeds without the wear.
  11. I was always taught there is "No such thing as a free lunch" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The Bat has been closed since Saturday due to mechanical issues. It will be back up when it is repaired. It's not going anywhere.
  13. I will paraphrase O'Terpy "Those who know don't speak. Those who speak, more times than not, don't know"
  14. I actually applied to work Haunt this year. Never worked at KI, so I figured it was time to get a taste. I may try for some part time work at Winterfest as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Or they could just remove something else?!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The first Rocky Mountain Construction "Raptor" track roller coaster has been announced for Six Flags Fiesta Texas. "Wonder Woman will climb a 113-foot hill, drop about 100 feet straight down at 90-degrees, and hit a top speed of 52 mph. It will include overbanked turns and the free-floating sensation known as airtime. Among its three inversions will be a "180-degree stall," in which the train will roll halfway over and suspend riders for a few agonizing moments before it unrolls and returns them right-side-up." 17. I've never heard of this happening in all the years I've been going to Kings Island. No one I know has heard of this incident, and there is no substantial evidence of it ever happening. Paraphrasing BoddaH1994 above, I think you are confusing it with another park. Here is a list of Arrow hydroflumes that were around during that time and in the region. 1973- Coal Cracker- Hersheypark 1973- Kenton Keelboat Canal- KI 1975- Riptide-- SFGADV 1976- Yankee Clipper- SFGAM 1982- White Water Landing- CP
  18. Thanks KingsMill79. I vaguely remember a promotion with cars. I was 4 in '79. I think Shaggy or Don may have a better recollection of the promotion. The earliest promotion I can specifically remember would be the Q102 Mello Yello t-shirts that were given away at the park in the early 80's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It was announced at Coasterstock that this will be a large Christmas Tree. There will be another one where the old tram turn around was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. It was the only coaster to make me bleed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thank you again for the opportunity Don. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. As many have noticed, I've not been posting as much on KIC in the last year or so. I've been focusing on combining my passion for amusement parks and photography. I'm excited and honored to announce I've joined Shaggy on the Kings Island website as a guest blogger. I've had a love of for the park that stretches back to my first visits in the late 70's. I hope to share stories reminiscing about the past, sharing the now, and also looking towards the future of the park. My first blog was posted yesterday. Here's is the direct link: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2017/july/what-kings-island-meant-growing-up-for-me Make sure to bookmark the official KI blog page.
  23. Average day. I believe my highest was around 2500, but that was when everything was working. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I find that hard to believe as the PTC trains with the dividers and fat lap bars are very restrictive compared to the openness of the Millennium Flyer trains. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
