  1. Jurassic Park 3D this year was awesome. I love that movie. A lot. Kings Island needs to stop planning so many fun activities while I am so far away!
  2. 305 foot B&M Giga. 300 foot drop. 90MPH. It will have a beautiful entrance plaza and sign. No guess on the name or theme.
  3. Just curious? How is Vortex sinking? It seems like it's on solid ground? Same way Magnum has been sinking for years. The ground is eroding.
  4. Was at Alpengiest yesterday and a lady asked me if the ride was an upside down water ride. I asked her if those really existed. She thought Alpengiest (a B&M like Raptor) connected with the log flume that is under the coaster.
  5. I'm not really a ride op, but I am trained at most rides in my area at Busch Gardens for evacuation purposes. Last night as I was crossing the street, a car was at the stop sign and as I went to cross the street I did the cross signal to the car (put your arms up and make an X). As soon as I did it I felt embarrassed. Too much time on Griffon...
  6. As the old saying goes... "Pics or it didn't happen"
  7. You'll fit right in! Never be timid to post your opinion.
  8. Pick away, but I don't know how much help I will be.
  9. From someone who has been on both, I liked Flight Deck more than BBW. The Wolf was rough the three times I was on it. The only thing it had going for it was the scenery.
  10. Come say hello! After working three days from 8 AM until 11 PM I was ready to sleep for a very long time. I also went out with some friends until 4 in the morning, so I had some sleep to catch up on. I am a business operations intern. My title is Area Host Leader/Supervisor of the France and New France area. I am also cross trained to operate Griffon, Alpengiest, and Catapult. I'm training on Le Scoot (Log Flume) tomorrow. I'm trained on these rides just incase I have to cover for someone. I love my area because the whole places smells like BBQ.
  11. After waking up at two in the afternoon I decided to spend my one day off at work. I got to Busch Gardens around three and immediately went to Verbolten. It was the only ride I had not been on in the park and I was very ready to ride. Very rarely do I ride a new coaster and not know the layout before hand, but this was one of the ones I knew nothing about. I knew there was drop track and a homage to Big Bad Wolf with the final drop, but that was it. The ride was nice. I would compare it to the Mummy at Universal Studios. It was smoother than Mummy, but not as good as far as special effects go. Even though I was expecting the drop track, it still got me. I loved it. Overall, I would say the ride was decent, but not great. After Vbolt, I took a spin on Alpengiest which is trimmed to death. If it wasn't trimmed so badly, it would probably bump Raptor from my number one coaster. It was pretty rough in some spots, too. After Alpengiest I went and talked to my coworkers in the in park offices, and we ate what was left of my birthday cake from the day before. We then rode Griffon together which was fun as always. Even though it is short and repetitive, I still like the ride. Not what I want at Kings Island, but I do like it. After Griffon I left my coworkers and took the skyride to Apollo's Chariot and took two rides on that. I rode in the very back and then the very front. The back is amazing and way better than Diamondback, but the front is boring. Extremely boring. The park closed at 8 today so that is all I got done. I will return tomorrow, but for work (which is actually 100 times better than being in the park as a guest!).
  12. I think I will not return to my internship next year, and will apply to be ride attendant for this.
  13. I have not gone to the Tampa park, but I might take my 8 free tickets and go to Florida for a week during winter break.
  14. Why? What's so bad about coaster enthusiasts speculating on a new ride and getting excited about it? Yeah maybe are thoughts go off on tangents every so often buts it's all in fun. We enjoy the thought of what's going on here and want to try to put the clues together. I think maybe he was just making a joke about how we come up with some crazy ideas It was mostly a joke. I don't mind reading people's ideas or even their wish lists, but there are plenty of those extreme cases in this thread where you just say "really?" I'd have to disagree with you on that one. My Rct3 park is thriving at the moment... That was super funny. Even if there was no light package directly on the ride, I doubt glow in the dark paint would be noticeable with all of the light pollution from the park.
  15. If it was up to me I wouldn't eat all day, but when my group decides to eat I usually end up getting something with them. I usually drink an Arnold Palmer on the way to the park. This year I get a pulled pork sandwich at the Red's Grille. On the way home we stop at Speedway and I get a speedy freeze that is a mix between cherry flavored and Coke and then I also get a Little Debbie Cosmic Brownie.
  16. If you guys think Kings Island stacks trains, prepare yourself before you ever come to Busch Gardens. The team at Griffon today stacked three trains almost every single time.
  17. After catching up on the last five pages, I thank God most of you aren't in the amusement park industry. Carry on...
  18. Or Maverick... Zach, cross...website-ing?
  19. Thank you for the explanation. By structural problems, I meant sensors and I've seen multiple times on Dragster when a break fin won't pop up and maintenance will have to climb on the track to release it. I know they don't close because supports are failing.
