The water for WWC and pretty much all the water rides are from a combination of City of Mason water, and Water from the PKI Aquifer (yes, PKI has an aquifer). Part of the reason that Crocodile Dundees Boomerang Bay was soo expensive, is PKI has their own filtration system. The system was installed in the pump houses on site back in the 70's, but they upgraded to totally computer controlled systems this year with the expense of Boomerang Bay. Almost 70% of all the water in PKI comes from these pump houses which are a mixture of the Aquifer and City of Mason water. Believe it or not, Mason accually uses PKI water sometimes during the summer if the table gets low. Hope this helps m@ilman

The Loading que can still be seen to this day. That picture i posted above, if you are in the park at that same place where the picture is, on the left there is a food stand ( i forget the name). If you walk to that food stand's fence behind it you can accually see the old que area, and the loading platform below. (The cars were accually loaded underground, and then the arm raised and you had free controll of the cars. If i can, im accually thinking of trying to get some pictures sometime of it (if I can), because i always loved the Flight Commander, and have always been interested in the FC Disaster and all about the ride. m@Ilman

Sunday, June 9, 1991 a woman had entered the ride intoxicated. The woman had entered into one of the cars as a single rider (the Flight commander cars carried 2 people, like most rides). One of the features of Flight Commander, was in the middle of the car, was a joystick which "controlled" the cars, they could do a full 360 degree barrel roll, and could controll the nose to raise and lower a bit. Anways, during the ride cycle because (i suppose) of the intoxication, and low reaction, she started the car to do a barrel roll, obviously going upsidown her hand came off and as the car continued to do the barrel roll, she slipped into the empty passenger compartment and fell out of the ride. My Supervisor for GR this year worked on the Zephyr that year, and has a good friend who was working at the Flight Commander on Black Sunday. Apparently, during the ride, he says they saw something which they thought was a coat falling out of the ride. They didn't realize she had fallen out until the ride cycle stopped, and noticed that the woman they put in the car at the beginning...was no longer in the car. Here are a few pictures of the Flight Commander (Courtesy of PKICENTRAL.com) so you can understand a little of what im talking about :

Dasani is a product of Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola is the Official Soft Drink Beverage of Paramounts Kings Island and Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay Water Park Resort. I believe since Dasani is considered a "high class" bottled water, and we are trying to achieve more of a Higher Class image for this water park resort, it makes more sense to place Dasani on the Cabanas, then plastering Coca-Cola all over the place. m@ilman

TheRickster and I have a running Joke...saying when the sign will come, Marketing will advertise it as: "The Worlds Tallest, Fastest, and only Looping....sign" m@ilman BTW, BoddaH...i was watching the coaster videos on PKI.com today (i was bored). I know we have discussed this before, but the video they have for Son of Beast IS NOT shot at PKI (The lake/river in the Rosebowl is a dead giveaway...)...but i forget where it was...do you remember?

I know its been a long time since i have replied, and i see alot of new people on here, BUT since this subject has risen...BoddaH and I are hardcore Arrow fans. So my vote goes to Arrow. m@ilman

Im your friend in Guest Relations. Taking care of all the crap that goes on in the day and giving good GR's to Beast......and other rides when applicable!! m@ilman

You probably know this by now , but closing shift was called off and earlys were told to stay the extra hour. Since in GR we do rotation shifts, that ment we had an extra hour at our last shift.

Yeah, Boddah and I had a nice long discussion at PKI-C day about how The Vortex is rough. I agree, after that first turn, going into the first loops, its rough if you dont expect it. BUT, if you ride any other Arrow sit down, its going to be the same way. with all of the arrow coasters i have ever ridden, if you dont follow the track, you will be in for a rough time. IMO and to some others, Arrow makes rough track. They make an awesome ride...i love arrow, but the track could be a little more streamlined. m@ilman

Some painting companies have Cherry picker-type trucks that they use for tall projects like that. But, hence im not exactly sure what they would do in that scenerio...thats just my thoughts.. m@ilman

ah, makes sense.. alas i was thinking of the Queue loading corral gates. my mistake. Thanks! m@Ilman

I really wish they would re-open the theming underneath the station. Going back to TOWER GUY's post, I too stood the full que when that ride came out with my Cousins who came down from NY at the time and visited the park. Top gun has always been enclosed, and has since been stated in this thread. But the idea of making the ride floorless is very interesting. Back to HelixSpirals post, i agree with you on the expense it would take to make this ride floorless. I dont understand though why you think that the Queue gates would need to be redesigned? I get nit picky sometimes, but IMO, this doesnt seem needed..and hence im not a Engineer (yet) so it doesnt make sense to me. LOL But alas, i have had little sleep so dont hold this post against me m@ilman

They might of taken the King Corba to France, but as for the King COBRA, no...its still here in Ohio lol m@ilman

Same... ... ... ..MUAHAHHAHAHA

Maybe a new site design, because it says that the Paramount Parks sites are down for scheduled maintinance, not just the Kings Island part of it...hmmm...curious...
