  1. A couple years ago when I went to CP I was on the Mean Streak when a girl flashed the camera. I didn't notice this on the ride (of course) but saw it in plain view when I got to the ORP stand. The photo crew was sitting there totally oblivious at first and didn't delete it or anything. When the girl's boyfriend came down with her he saw it and dragged her away, apparently he was ****ed. Anyway, a bunch of us other riders saw this, admired the view, and told the guy behind the booth about it. He smiled at me and said "You want one?" I stood there for a couple minutes just watching people's reactions as the next train load came down. The girl's pic stayed up and everyone else's switched, lol. They had sold 10 of those pictures in the five minutes that I was standing there. THAT'S how you raise sales...lol. And yes, I know it was wrong, but I couldn't help but laugh at the whole thing. How often do you get to see that? As for me, I think my favorite ORP of me was up at CP that same year when me and my buddy "slept" through the ride. It made Mean Streak look so boring, lol. Andy
  2. Are you getting a fresh copy of the site? Are you using IE, Netscape or something else? I know that in IE you can force the browser to get a new copy of the site. Once it loads the "old" page hold down Shift and click Refresh. If that doesn't work then I have no idea... Also, when I worked at an IT company we would force the site to go down once a week to push out changes. I remember one week the only thing we changed on the entire website was a typo, instead of "the" someone put "teh" on a page. I fixed it and the change went out as scheduled, lol. Always thought that was kinda funny. () Andy
  3. Here's what I think on some of the topics you brought up. I think Fearfest is in for a huge change this year due to all of the different issues from the past couple of years. Maybe they won't do it on Sundays at all, maybe they'll change the calendar when the time approaches like last year. Who knows? Also, I can see the main websites now. I'm not sure what they changed exactly but they're up and running now, 1:00 am Wednesday morning... Andy
  4. If this has been announced before or something then feel free to lock and/or delete this post. No point in announcing something that's old news. I just hadn't seen the full calendar for 2004 yet... http://www.pki.com/visit_calendar.jsp For instance the park is open until midnight more days than last year and the first weekend is 3 full days instead of 2 and a half. Interesting changes... *shrug* Andy
  5. That's a great idea. "Please pay attention to all signs inside the park. And be sure to read the fine print on your ticket or season pass before asking any questions about them." LOL Andy
  6. We all know that no one reads any of the signs anyway, the only people even notice is the one by the freeway, right? lol. The ones in the park are for decoration or something. Andy
  7. lol, I thought I could assume some things here but okay, fair enough. The old PKI sign that was near the freeway blew down in a huge windstorm at the end of last season. Rumor had it at the time that they were going to rebuild it "bigger and better than ever" but I haven't heard anything else other than that. The sign that blew down was there for nearly 30 years (or so I was told) and they had only replaced the LED part a year or two ago so it was still pretty much the original sign with no need to replace it...until it fell down. Andy
  8. I'm curious to see just how far they go to make this new sign "top-of-the-line" since they get to start over from scratch. So has anyone heard anything? I sure haven't... Andy
  9. That's a great site but they seem to be missing quite a few years. I'm sure there are some people on this very board who could help out with that...right? Andy
  10. I remember coming on the preview day with some friends using the free tickets associates received. Just a bad idea in general. What's funny about season pass holders is that they all share that same mentality of "I'm special, give me what I want or else!" which just makes that day that much worse to work let alone to play in the park. Needless to say I'm not going again this year! Andy
  11. I predicted this as soon as I heard it wasn't going to cost extra. It's the obvious result of "shooting oneself in their own foot" by trying to appeal to the masses. Sometimes those masses end up being a much larger problem. Andy
  12. Read Rickster's post above yours...no one knows what to expect. Andy
  13. I'm dying to walk the back trail of The Beast. I really like the idea of getting "behind the scenes" shots though, that sounds like a sure winner. Andy
  14. Smoothest = Top Gun. If it's rainy then it's a draw between TG and Vortex. I've had some really smooth rides on FoF and SoB after it rains but nothing like TG. Roughest = SoB. If it's cold then Beast and Racer could be close but SoB still wins. In all honesty there are a lot of factors as to the smoothness of a certain ride. One seat in The Beast gave me a really smooth ride, comparable to TG, and another is similar to SoB. It's all a toss up really. Andy
  15. I always check the time when I pull in to see if I'm late (my time clock was 4 minutes off of the sign time) but today I didn't know what to do. I kept wondering "was the sign there or there?" I couldn't remember...it was sad... :-( Andy
  16. Where on this site has it been discussed to death? I didn't mean to sound rude but as I read it now it sure sounds mean. Sorry about that As for being "discussed to death" that may have been an overstatement. I'd heard about it for weeks prior because they were warning us in GR what to tell people so maybe I'm just sick of hearing about it in general. It's been discussed here several times but not "to death" so I apologize for that. Andy
  17. *SIGH* The queue line for Scrambler is used for one of the haunted houses. It's not going anywhere and it's not a sign of a new ride. This has been discussed to death... Andy
  18. I hear ya Sparky. That's part of the reason I'll be coming back next year. As long as the job's still fun I'll be there. Andy
  19. I think a new restaurant is in store. Possibly a revamp of an old one but most likely something entirely new. Also I wouldn't be surprised if the shows are redone for next year too. In my opinion they've gotten stale and the high interest in Spellbound might lead to other newer "non-traditional" shows at the park. Andy
  20. I've known about this since the day it was announced but I haven't heard anyone talking about it. It's possible that it went unnoticed since it wasn't announced until Labor Day but still, do people know or did it slip through the cracks for a change? Andy
  21. linkage: http://www.pki.com/attractions_newin2004.jsp However, the link on their media info page doesn't seem to be working yet. Andy
  22. Maybe this was a glitch, but CoasterBuzz announced the following at 12:01am on Tuesday September 23rd. http://www.coasterbuzz.com/2003-266-708179.htm The official site has nothing yet...maybe it'll happen later today. Thought I'd share... Andy [edit] I was a minute earlier than brown...how funny is that? [/edit]
  23. This link doesn't work. What is the link for the page it's on? Andy
  24. They are not "rolling over" 2003 passes til next Spring. In most cases, they will charge you $45 to "upgrade" to a 2004 pass if you still have your 2003 certificate but each case is handled differently, depending on when you bought your 2003 pass and for how much. All of this will be more definite come springtime, til then you can either process your pass (thus forgoing any chance of a "rollover") or buy a 2004 pass and eat the cost of the unused 2003 pass. But remember, this is all tentative. The final decision as to IF a rollover is possible or HOW MUCH it will cost have yet to be determined. Andy
  25. The Walk to Cure Diabetes is this Saturday, September 27th, and starts and ends in the South parking lot. Andy
