New Kings Island park 500,000 gallons short
andyatuc replied to SML828's topic in Coming Attractions
I think what happened was someone at the Warren County water department said something like "We promised them 500,000 gallons but I don't know where it'll come from yet." and the media jumped all over it. Warren County can handle it just as well as anyone else can or they wouldn't have agreed to do so. I'm 100% sure that those in charge of the new waterpark had confirmation of the added water usage before finalizing designs on the park itself. You don't go into that stage til you're sure you can pull it off. I have faith in my company. I'm sick of the media in general. They constantly twist information and quotes to make a story out of nothing. It's not important where you get your news it's always biased to some extent. If it wasn't then there'd be no "news" to report. Sorry for the rant...now back to the topic... Andy -
Advantages: - It's included in admission. No need to buy other tickets, just stay in the park and enjoy the scary attractions. - There is more to do this year because there will be more people in the park. The haunted train ride with the pumpkin patch sounds like fun to me. Disadvantages: - It's included in admission. This means twice the normal amount of people in half the space. Add onto that the fact that it'll be dark earlier and therefore slightly more dangerous with all of those people in the park. - The rides and attractions will open throughout the day but I'm not sure when. If what I want to ride opens without me knowing when I might have to wait longer than I really want to wait. - It's not open on Friday this year but it IS open on Sunday. Not sure what to make of that yet... I think it's funny that we aren't charging an extra price. It was the number one complaint about FearFest in the past and I think it'll end up being the number one again this year. Only this year they'll complain about having too many people in the park and will want to go back to the old way. It's the classic paradox of the public mentality. Gotta love it... Andy

And technically gravity itself is a force so any other force can counteract gravity. I see the point for the spokes. After a while the stress on the wood would become too much and without the spokes it may deteriorate faster than a straight part of the track. I kinda like seeing the lines running into the tunnels on the second helix. It's all there for a reason. Andy

I worked at the Front Gate this morning and dealt with around 20 different people myself. I got cursed at, screamed at, and was called a variety of names but hey, it's what I do. I was exhausted when I got home around 8pm. Overall, it could've been worse. Besides, we still have 6 more sell outs to handle (counting the GLCCGC night) so this is just the tip of the iceberg. Andy

New maps came out today and there's nothing new on them. The side with the park map is EXACTLY the same as it has been all season. We only change the other side to reflect the change in showtimes, upcoming concerts and advertisements. These end on Sept 28, we could have something new announced by then... Andy

My favorite part was the interview with Mr. Ed Dangler. I've met him before and he's a great guy...but it was just funny watching someone named "Dangler" being interviewed at the top of the ride. LOL. What's also funny is that I got to see the show WITH Mr. Siebert and company at our GR party last night. It was a fun show and I enjoyed seeing the ins and outs of the other rides on the list as well as Delirium. Andy

There's a new press release on the Golden Ticket Awards that PKI won on the website: PARAMOUNT'S Kings Islandâ„¢ HONORED WITH AWARD FOR BEST KID'S AREA - THIRD YEAR IN A ROW Andy
-
Oops, that's what I meant...

If you dial 911 inside the park it goes to the Kings Island First Aid center instead of Mason's center but it fills the same purpose. Andy

Maybe the longer one includes the lift hill and station where the smaller one doesn't? I have no idea... Andy
-
I really don't get what it is that you need help with? Just some people to say how much they'd pay for pictures or people to pose in the pictures themselves? Maybe I am risreading something here... Andy

Did you mean: ________ is falling down, falling down, falling down. ________ is falling down, my fair lady! ???

I remember sitting on The Vortex at that angle before the station, just waiting for them to pull us in. It wasn't more than a couple minutes but they never do that anymore... And yeah, I remember waiting for The Beast with my parents back in the early nineties when the line started at the floral clock. My brother and I HATED waiting for a ride we weren't even gonna get to go on. Now it makes me laugh that lines were actually that long... Andy

When I went to CP last month I was shocked at how little interaction I had with the associates of any kind. The ones I did talk to weren't smiling at all and it felt like I was shopping at a grocery store or something where everyone who works there wanted to go home. The only ones I actually spoke to didn't speak too much English...lol. I thought that was somewhat ironic... It all depends on when you go though. I'm sure their staff is just as good as PKI's, right? Andy

As of this post, the only way to get the 2004 passes is to have the ACTUAL postcard sent out to a certain group of people. On Monday morning at 9am this changes to include EVERYONE ELSE who wants a 2004 pass. I'm fairly sure the prices will be the same on Monday that they are today though...you just can't buy them yet... Andy
-
What are you talking about?? What went up 8 dollars? Andy
-
Oh totally. The price is the cheapest and it's good for the rest of 2003 AND 2004. If you have a pass this year you may be able to get free parking or something for next year, depending on what type you have and how much you paid. Andy
-
2004 passes go on sale August 4th, but we don't know the prices yet. Check the www.pki.com website on or around that date for more details. Andy

I sat in car 6 seat 2 for my most recent ride and it still hurt. I'm not one of those that expected a perfect ride though, since I'm well aware that wood coasters are "meant" to beat you up a little. I was simply stating that it still has room for improvement in my opinion. Andy
-
I rode it last night and the only pain I felt was in my legs from being squeezed into the seats. Usually my back and neck hurt, but last night was better than usual. I'm not saying it will always be better or that it will be better for everyone, just saying that I had an above-average ride for a change. Maybe the changes they made will keep making a difference in the months to come...maybe not...to each their own. Andy
-
I agree entirely. He played almost everything I can remember singing along to in my car in the past. To top it all off I had front row seats which meant I could sit down for most of the show. Yeah, yeah, I'm a party pooper, but who cares, I had a blast and that's all that matters. But now it's late and I'm exhausted...10/10!!! Andy

I made a great joke during the show: "It's amazing! She does whatever he asks! It must be MAGIC!" LOL. I thought the one with the box was pretty awesome though. I can't figure that one out yet... Andy

Did anyone see the new Billborads on the highway?
andyatuc replied to Scooby_Doo's topic in Coming Attractions
I saw the spongebob billboard on 75/71 northbound in downtown cincy. It has Spongebob crying and says "Pleeeease come see my movie!!!" LOL!! I love it! Andy -
With a 12:30 game he should be getting to PKI fairly close to 5:00pm. Most are over three but less than four, but yeah, no one knows. Accounting for drive-time and such he should be close enough to wait for the price break. I love the people who try to get in at 4:45 for the after 5:00 price. Yeah, I'm well aware that it's close, but no, I'm sorry, not today. lol Andy

I'd LOVE to see a ride like the Screaming Squirrel! It's practically one-of-a-kind and that's something PKI needs to keep an edge on the competition. Besides, I've never ridden ENTIRELY upside down before! That'd be awesome!!! Andy
