Level 5 for me. Have you met violakat03, pkiboy, and gigacoaster2k? After 6 laps on Raptor (all within about a half hour) on Saturday night's ERT I'd reached my maximum even with Dramamine (I consider myself a "semi-ride warrior! ) They stayed on for ride #7 and would have gotten an eighth ride if the train in front of them hadn't gotten stuck on the MCBR. They prove the fact that you can ride extreme thrill ride after extreme thrill ride multiple times in a row. I have also witnessed them in action all day long both at Kings Island and at Cedar Point. I myself got 3 laps in a row on Diamondback without having to walk to the exit on my birthday. Some people can handle riding ride after ride while others can't. I used to be in category #2 until I took some Dramamine and noted its effects for the first time.

Honestly, I've learned not to take other people's opinions when they happen to be negative and essentially say not to ride something (No offense is intended to anyone on here, and I am NOT pointing my finger at anyone. I respect all your opinions.). SOB is my second favorite wooden coaster both at KI and overall (along with it being my fifth favorite ride at KI overall). I had an experience this weekend at Cedar Point in which I was weary to ride Skyhawk because I'd heard the ride was so boring. I rode it and absolutely loved it. In fact, it's my second favorite ride at The Point behind only Maverick. Angrybeaver and I would probably warn you that SOB can get rough in the helixes, but other than that I don't mind the shakiness and find it to be a great ride. In fact, I enjoy going almost 80 MPH on it and have only had one bad experience on it. That, however, was my fault as I shouldn't have leaned my head BACK in the rose bowl. I even rode Mean Streak this weekend despite everyone else in my group saying that it was horrible. What I'm trying to say is ultimately don't let negative opinions get the best of you to the point that you won't even ride a particular ride. One person's trash could be another's treasure.

I second this idea, Dvo! I rode Skyhawk for the first time this weekend and absolutely loved it. I just wish I didn't have to go four hours North from where I live to ride it.
-
C'mon now, Jesse. We both know what REALLY happened!
-
Ok chunks, what happen???? come on you can fess up.... ha ha I'll leave it up to Jesse if he wants to tell the story. I'm not gonna embarass him or myself on his topic!
-
Unfortunately, I have no clue. I saw you riding Raptor this weekend while I was in the station, though.
-
HAHAHA! I meant I never looked back from having an all out blast on the ride. It's now my favorite roller coaster, wood or steel.
-
Great report, Jesse. It was a pleasure riding some rides with you. I WILL get you back for a certain incident that happened in a room of rest the next time I see you at KI, though!

I used to be the same way with not lapping coasters, but with The Beast not being what it once was I decided after a lap or two on Diamondback to marathon it. I wanted to ride Delirium to compare it to maXair, but I enjoyed going through the SRL (when it was open) and asking people when I was on the lift hill if it was their first time riding Diamondback. I even got to ride in the front row with a 58-year-old woman who rides at least one new coaster each summer. She screamed louder than any 16-year-old I have EVER heard in my life and had an all out blast. I also got to ride with markr for the first time. There are ups and downs to marathoning, but it depends on who you are with and what you like to do. If I'm by myself and don't see that too many KIC'ers will be at the park by way of checking a meet up thread I might marathon Diamondback. If I'm with other KIC'ers and/or my family then marathoning is DEFINITELY out of the question.
-
That means you haven't been on Maverick or Skyhawk (My two favorite rides at The Point!)! You simply HAVE to try Maverick! It had me from the first drop and I never looked back! If you have the chance, GO TO Cedar Point! My first time will NOT be my last!

I can't tell you straight up because I made my friends figure it out for almost two years. Look at the other comments for clues.

7 laps on Friday makes 29 for me. I would have had 30 if they hadn't shut down the SRL TWICE due to groups abusing it. The next time this happens I'm showng Guest Relations the 2 pics on my phone of signs that say, "Single Riders Only No Groups" both BEFORE and IN the SRL. Linejumping and groups in the SRL are both getting WAY out of hand. Sorry for the rant, but I know big wigs at KI occasionally read these forums.

I have troubles with BLSC's helixes too. If I lean my head forward then it and the upper half of my body will continue to go forward as well. After 3 laps during ERT on Ride Warriors Weekend I'd had enough and had to sit a lap out. The only ride that I remember seeing black dots on was two Fridays ago on Invertigo. I was on the return trip in the loop and got my first experience of what it's like to almost experience blacking out. I wasn't the only one on the ride that had that happen to me though. I said that I almost blacked out and the kid across from me said that he did too. I'm now a little bit weary about riding Invertigo.

It all depends on what she likes honestly. I went to CP for the first time this weekend and was in total awe of how many flat rides there were. However, I would suggest KI first for big rides for two reasons: 1. It will only build up the thrill for Cedar Point; 2. If she is taken to CP first some of the rides at KI might seem relatively tame to her and she might be diappointed by KI. All in all, it's up to the person that's taking her, but I would recommend KI first for big rides.
-
So what ride at CP is your equivalent to Diamondback at KI? Sorry, I had to ask!
-
I had a blast with you, Kat, and all the other KIC'ers this weekend, Angie! I don't care what it takes, I WILL get my brother and my dad to go up to The Point this season! We should have gotten that picture of us on Dragster where you spontaneously grabbed my neck and I acted like you were choking me on the brake run! Oh well, all us KIC'ers can always carry on the tradition of posing for the ORP on Diamondback! Kat - I can't thank you enough for being gracious enough for the ride up there! To prove my point - THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! LOL! Dave - I thought I saw you outside of Dragster's exit, but I didn't see DD12. Because of this, I didn't know for sure that it was you and didn't introduce myself. I'm sorry. I'll post the next time I go to KI or CP and if we coincide on the date I'll definitely PM you my cell phone number so we can officially be acquainted with each other and hopefully ride some rides together.

If you don't have a Gold or Platinum Pass and can't make it to Diamondback ERT, be prepared to RUN! Unfortunately, there is a Running of the Bulls for that ride. Don't go past Starbuck's like everyone else, though. Go through Nick Universe and then Rivertown. When I was there on Tuesday everyone was going past Starbuck's and I was thinking to myself, "Okay. Ummm, I guess I'll beat you there. I did!" Hope this helps. This might help you map out your plan. KI Map

Was that you that posed for a picture for me while being stuck on Diamondback?

According to Cedar Point's blog, Millie is now open again. HOORAY! http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm -
The Beast is definitely the more popular ride. BUT it's less enjoyable (to me) if the trim brakes are on, which most of the time they are. Right now I actually like Sonny more because The Beast is LOADED with trim brakes. My two cents' worth.

*Breathes a HUGE sigh of relief.* WHEW! It's good to see that Millie is testing again. I don't mind if I don't get to ride it on Friday too much, but I would like to get those 2 hours of EARLY morning ERT in on Saturday morning for CoasterMania! I wonder if Angie's heard the news yet? -
Ditto! I wore my basketball shoes on Friday and my feet hated me for a while.

On RWW, one ride op was asking if anyone knew how tall Diamondback was, how tall the drop was, how fast it goes, and how steep the first drop was. After not even thinking of the answers for those I fired them at him. He then said, " What's my middle name." Gotta love when people have fun with their jobs! Ronny, have you done anything when operating a ride? I vaguely remember you doing something on BLSC on the first day of Ride Warriors Weekend when all of us KIC'ers were riding.
