Drop Zone has only one type of braking, the magnetic braking. There are essentially three main parts to Drop Zone. The tower itself, the catch car, and the ring of seats. The thing that grabs on to the ring of seats is the catch car...As for it braking down, nine times out of ten, they will slowly lower the catch car back down with the ring of seats still attatched. If for some reason it doesn't want to lower slowly, they will indeed drop them. They are given several warnings however before they drop them.

Big bad Drop Zone has magnetic braking.

Yeah SOB was very nice in the Rose Bowl. I was very much impressed... The Drop Zone seats are the same style as the old ones. The yellow ones looked like crap and were starting to tear on the ends. Which is why they were replaced with the black ones.

Actually, I have recieved several good comments from park guests. Never a bad comment. Not to gloat but I didn't become Head Supervisor of a 25 person crew from making guests experiences at PKI stink.
-
A topic about a rumor from ScreamScape pertaining to PKI is bad enough but now one concerning PGA? Egh, sorry folks....
-
There you go again thinking you know how to run things pertaining to park operations....Sorry to call you out but your the type every park geek employee dispises.

Nothing to big to comment on here. Got off at 4 and myself, my girl, and two other peeps from da Zone decided to ride some rides. We got in Beast, Troika, SOB, and DZ. Beast was it's usual self. I forgot how powerful that Helix was and the intensity cought me off guard. The new effects were a nice touch but I suspect many hardcore enthusiasses will find something to complain about here. Troika. What is there to say. It's Troika. Fun none the less. SOB...The main reason for this TR was to comment on SOB and the work they done on the Rose Bowl. SOB was SMOOTH and re-rideable. In the Rose Bowl at least. Now the question remains, will it stay like this? DZ...It was Drop Zone. It picks you up, and drops you. I love the new black seats and the crew freeakin rocks! Thats all. We only rode rides for about three hours or so and then we hit up AppleBees afterwards. Good times are coming this season...

Ha. We didn't have very many drivers all day so I was stuck in there for about 3.5 hours total on Sunday. Besides, maintenance had brought us a space heater so it was nie and warm in there. If there were other drivers though, you bet I would be on the floor and they would be in the booth...On a side note, myself and another crew member had a very pleasent conversation with little girl and little boy as we were going to break. Made my day

Nah. They aren't so great. Heck, if I was running one train I'd be the last ride out too.
-
Which is exaclty why nobody paid to get in this weekend.
-
We did the best we could given the circumstances. In fact, if the ride is open, the effects and theming should always be at 100% I guess you missed that light out in the load station at FoF then while you were busy complaining about the ride operators decision. If you can't get it up to 100% then close it until you can. The rides are run mechanically and electrically at 100% other then the seats that get tied off every now and then for various reasons. Delirium and SlingShot didn't have water coolers at all this weekend. Does that mean we shut the ride down? No. Again, it's PREVIEW WEEKEND. You can complain all you want. I'm just trying to show you, you have no SOLID reason to have had the "worst day ever."
-
Ha! I didn't even know there was a power "hiccup". We didn't feel a thing down at DOT but Drop Zone did.
-
Obviously you don't or you wouldn't have been complaining about the weather. Yeah right. Just like you were "perfectly ok" with the ride ops shutting down FoF because they found the ride not fit to run? Again, you don't get it. Close the ride, when half the coasters are down already, or run it just not with the effects at 100%?
-
1. It has to be above 40 degrees I do believe for steel coasters to run and with the wind, it was well below that all day. We don't control mother nature, so deal with it. 2. Every department involved with the ride has been bustin their asses off lately trying to get TR to work. They don't have time for every little detail. Hell, your lucky the ride even ran at all this weekend. They will get fixed, give them time and then you can ride your precious Tomb Raider. 3. Maybe you missed them? I rode Beast on Saturday and they were very much on. 4. So now you questioning the judgement of the employees that WORK ON THE RIDE? When you have an idea of knowing what your doing as a ride operator, then you can question their judgement. Seriously, you have no basis for complaining here on any of your complaints. So until you know what your talking about, it's best to keep quiet.

Maybe it has something to do with us attracting more guests than our sister parks do? Thus the more guest you have, the more they wait in line. Therefore, you keep the park open longer so they can experience more of our attractions....Just an educated guess though!
-
What airtime?!?!? This is The Racer we're talking about here folks!
-
As of Monday, the 29th, it was.
-
Nothing renovated about it either....
-
No Monster paint job Joe. The Zephyr paint job is done however.
-
Oh get over it. It's people like you that make me despise coaster enthusiast.
-
Are you being serious?

What was the forum about The Italian Job?

Haha...When I first saw that I thought it was three more hours worth of waiting! -
Tiny, In all honesty, Jeff is a great guy. He's also very good at what he does. Examples: "March announcement", "the clearing by Beast", ETC....As you can see, all of what he says is disected a million times by people which is why he's so good at what he does. Aside from the Operations full timers and maintenance, he's the only full timer I know of that will come down and speak to the ride ops. I have spoken to him many times at Delirium last season. As you can see, he's a great guy but by no means is he "God" like some people think he is.
-
I can't say I really like "God" all that much.... ;0)

Which only leaves the Campground, which they do own.
