  1. Also, a horror movie was filmed at Chippewa Park: http://www.cleveland.com/movies/index.ssf/...ade_in_old.html Also, see: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14511
  2. Oh, OK. I had seen her as 192 when she said she was 192 before she got bumped down one. When I made my post I hadn't seen her new bid. Congrats to her though
  3. Hey giga, I think you just got knocked off the board. If you bid just $101 you will move up to 152nd, so you could feel pretty safe with your bid . Wish I had money to bid with
  4. [off topic] Speaking of volcanoes and lahars, Mt. Redoubt started to erupt earlier in the week. [on topic] I don't know how snakes have to do with lahars, but it does sound kinda catchy. Did anything happen as to the landscaping today or anything else that was visible on the webcam.
  5. Sorry. I looked through recent post from the last day or so and didn't find anything. I thought the sixth train had just been added today because I had looked at the Auction Board yesterday and it was still only five trains. Oh well
  6. I was looking at the First Ride Auction Bid Board and noticed the yellow line has moved from after the 160 bid to after the 192 bid. I assume this means that a sixth train has been added . On another note, over $75,000 has been raised for A Kid Again through the auction, with another $50,000 as an in-kind donation from Bonneville Radio Cincinnati. Also, you just need to bid $91 to be on the board for a chance to get one of the first rides. Check out the blog here and the First Ride Auction Bid Board here.
  7. Thanks. And yeah, those cars do look really old, but I would think from the early 40s. Edit: Beat me to it!
  8. Yes. That picture is very sweet looking. Very old too. Looks like a fun ride.
  9. *Calling dare-to-fly, dare-to-fly. Your attention is needed* Yeah. I say everyone donates some money and we buy the Big Dipper.
  10. I waited about an hour and a half for Firehawk once. Also, last year during Haunt, we asked how long the wait for The Beast was; we were told about 45 min. Not too bad . Well, we waited.... and waited....and waited some more. I think we ended up waiting about an hour and a half
  11. When I was at Haunt a couple of years ago I thought that the line for FD was just redone somehow so that it stayed open even with Club Blood. IDK maybe not, but I thought it stayed open
  12. Wow. Thanks for all of the knowledge everyone. Last year I went to WDW for the first time and we used the FlashPasses but we still had to wait a while for some rides (Space Mountain, and the other roller coaster mountain [the name slips my mind at the moment], Jungle Cruise, and I think that is all). Even still having to stand in line it was a very enjoyable time! I think we may go back in a couple of years
  13. As much as I would love to stay in a Disney deluxe resort (or even a moderate one), for many people on a budget that's just not possible. When we go, we're typically in the room just to sleep, and the value resorts' pools and amenities are just fine for my family. See my comment above. I'm at WDW, I expect it to be a little crowded. But the three times we've stayed in the value resorts, the crowds there haven't been horrendous. And sure, there are "cheaper hotels on U.S. 192 and International Drive", but if you stay at those you don't get the ERT available to all Disney resort guests. Yeah, I would totally agree with you. We stayed at a value resort. We would leave the room around nine in the morning, eat, and then we would go to one of the parks. Then, we wouldn't get home until 11:30 or after midnight, so we took a shower and slept. For us, there is no since in going to a deluxe resprt.
  14. I know it, right? Or, I at least hope I can go to the park on April 18th. It's about a 50-50 chance as of right now.
  15. The best night ride for me is definitely The Beast. Going through the woods and tunnels, traveling in the dark, hearing the screeching of the wheels going through the turns, it's the best. A night ride on The Beast is even better if it is a little cool outside (in the 60s) so your arms get really chilly. Aw, now I want to ride The Beast . Oh well
  16. Those 'white block looking things' don't look like pallets of bricks. Those white things look round and white, whereas pallets are usually suare and the brick would be a dark red/brown-ish. But, if you meant the white things are sand, then I totally agree with you . That would make a lot of sense.
  17. I think the value for the tours are pretty good, considering what you get for your money. I mean, you get food, drinks, front of the line access , and it lasts eight hours. Would I like to do a tour, heck yeah! Would I be willing to pay $199, definitely not! Oh well.
  18. That is hilarious! Wow, Skyline out of chili. What is the world coming to Anyhow, my first looping coaster was Vortex or Flight of Fear. (I think). I used to love Vortex, but any more it is just too rough, so I don't ride it too often.
  19. Just ignore this; double post . Couldn't stop it in time.
  20. Yep, it was the 500th coaster he was involved with. And some people think I post a lot! That is just incredible. Congratulations to him!!!!
  21. Personally, I thought the food was much better this past year. I also think that Stunt Crew Grill's bacon cheddarburger is wonderful, and I don't know of anywhere else outside of KI besides Chick-Fil-A that you can get those delicious waffle fries. One thing that has kept me from being annoyed with food and drink prices is to always get an all day drink wristband, and also to remember that Kings Island is a park that I cherish. Buying the high priced food directly benefits the park and makes sure that it stays open and successful. Eating in the parking lot picnic grove is, in some ways, like turning your back on Kings Island. As far as there not being anything REALLY good at the park to eat, I find the LaRosa's pepperoni pizza quite delicious (sp?). Also, I like Skyline coneys with some fries. And the Chick-Fil-A waffle fries are really, REALLY good. For drinks, I usually get water in my souvenir (sp?) cup and then get it filled up once, only for dinner.
  22. Well one day, I heard that Rivertown was getting a dive coaster. And then I heard that it changed and we were getting a hyper coaster
  23. I just voter and The Beast is up, 59% to 40%. I find it very surprising there have only been 243 votes though. GO BEAST!!
  24. I would say definitely take three days (two in the main park, and one in the waterpark). On the day you visit the waterpark, you can take time in the main park too. With the time you are visiting, the park will be pretty crowded. Hope this helps and hope you have an exciting trip
