He's been diagnosed for about 8 years now so we have gotten over the "shock" of it. He even has fun saying it gives him great parking. We're not happy about it but what can we do, other than fight for better drugs and research. He could do Mantis, he's able to walk still, just not very well and a long day in the parks requires his scooter. By the way, his disease is one reason he loves coasters, they allow him to be like everyone else for a few minutes. That's why I buy platinum passes and Ace memberships for Christmas.

I know my brother and myself will be there! Come up and say HI. He'll be in a motorized scooter because of Multiple Sclerosis so we'll be easy to spot. LOL And feel free to ask questions, we're very involved in fighting the disease and enjoy educating others! If you have a basement, turn off the lights and fall down the stairs. That is about how exciting it is to ride The Crypt. I've always hated that ride. Complete waste of time!

Now it looks like they fixed the registration for Sat morning. Parking lot and registration open at 6am.

I thought that was a huge screw up anyway! Sat ERT for The Beast starts at 7am and then below the ERT schedules it says that the parking lot and regristration will open at 7:30am. They need to get it together.

Not to mention it shows the ERT for Sat starting at 7am for The Beast and then below states that the parking lot and registration will start at 7:30am! Duh!! How about getting it right?

Yeah, the times I've been on "bring a friend" days it's been packed! I was bummed when I saw that it was going to be going on durring "our" weekend. The three of us going for Warriors will go in early and then just come out at 10 when ERT is over and get the other three in for the deal. Park doesn't open to the public until ERT is over so it's not like you'll miss anything.

Since we'll be driving 3 1/2 hours one way I'm trying to do it driving only one vehicle. I figure it's worth it to pay a little more for the hotel than the hastle of two vehicles and gas for 400 plus miles. I think what we'll do is take the van to the park in the mornings and the other three "non-warriors" can ride the shuttle over and back when it's available and/or they're tired so that will leave us a vehicle to get back with as well. Plus, my brother is handicapped (he's got MS, feel free to ask us about it, we're both involved with fighting the disease and don't mind talking about it) and will need to bring his scooter. We'll just eat in the park at the former Wings or probably the picnic since it's only $10. Thanks for the info guys! And I totally agree with standbyme. If I wanted to do an indoor waterpark I'd pay their ridiculous prices and do it but it seems stupid to pay that much when your not going to be there. Personally, I've never stayed at one and don't get the big deal of it but to each his own.

True, but there is flat out no way I'm paying their prices! Just looking for a place to crash and shower.

A group of us will be attending KI on the weekend of May 9-10. Three of us will be attending Ride Warriors and three of us will not. I'm looking for a hotel nearby that has a shuttle so the 3 (woman with 2 kids) that won't be staying late/arriving early can relax without having to sit in the parking lot. Any suggestions?

I still don't see how the smooth metal on the little grommets would cause a large scratch down my back The main reason is they can gouge the surface of the slide and cause injuries to people who slide after you.
