If you want a ride on Vortex with no headbanging you have to try seat 5-1. After it being touted so much by other KICers I was a bit skeptical if it was really true. I tried and would have to agree 100 percent (hmm... No percent sign on an iPod. Didn't know that) I recommend 5-1 to everyone I go to KI with and have taken other people on it many times.

Nice find! Looking at the PKI website back then made me realize that although our KI website is bad the old PKI one is far worse. Assuming that is the old PKI website...

How do you guys think ST compares with any of the woodies at CP or KI. I am headed to MA soon and would like to know some other rides to compare it with.

I can't see why not. Lots of Schwarzkopf coasters operate with just lap bars. They have loops and our own FOF has a corkscrew and it uses just lap-bars. Using that logic lap bars are possible but do I think we'll get them? No, I don't barring a complete overhaul of the ride. I don't think CF is willing to put that much money into a 20 year old attraction.

Trust me completely redisigning a website is a very hard and time consuming process especially making a decent one. As far as the calender goes I agree that it looks good and is the step in the right direction.

MA fanboys would eat you alive for saying that ST is "good but not great" From what I've heard it is one of the better and smoother SLC's. I'm going soon also and I would also like to ask about the tube rental. Does that mean you can't use the tube slides without paying the money?

I agree! I love the tunnels on Montu and feel they really add to that great ride. Thanks for the TR. I went to Carowinds a few years ago but don't remember much except for Flying Super Saturator (Which is a really bad name IMO) I think the new for 2010 ride looks interesting. Might have to get down there next year.

Millennium Force has speed but Diamondback has so much more airtime which IMO makes it a better ride

I think Flash Pass is worth it only at big parks and on crowded days. I made the mistake of paying the arm-and-leg prices they charge on an empty day that I thought was going to be crowded but wasn't. Yeah I screwed up

I would ride all the coasters you can as well as Skyhawk and Maxair for flat rides. Demon Drop, being the last of it's kind in the US, is also a must ride and provides quite a different sensation than Power Tower does

I think it would be a lot more exciting if scaled up bigger. Kind of like B&M Dive Machines, IMO the holding brake at the top wouldn't be half as thrilling at 100ft. up instead of 200.

Its not the theming were talking about. The theming sucks anyway. I could by better theming for that ride at Party City. Were talking about the entrance, and they nickles they spent on re-doing the entrance and line queue. They had to redo the queue. If you look DB's footer is right where Crypt's old queue was. I agree with Cedar Pointer they redid the entrance when Crypt had it's old cycle. Now that it has a new less "destructive" cycle. Who knows? Maybe Crypt will be gone.

I am planning a trip to Michigans Adventure soon and, having never been before, could use some tips on what rides are worth riding, what to ride first etc. Any help is appreciated.

I agree with the Premier/S&S launcher. I like the idea of a Powderkeg-like ride utilizing the same terrain that all the woodies do. If they build it I will definitely come.
