That would be interesting to see a SOB 2.0 as long as long as it got retracked and KI please put in some nicer trains not some old ones that were used on other coasters. Edit: It looks like Tomkatt's quote is gone too...

The entrance is cable-tied. The exit is the one that is bolted and has a potted plant. The enterence to SOB actually has a gate of metal bolted over the entrance. The old cable with "This attraction is temporarily closed" is now gone.

I find it funny that just about a year ago all the major parks were dropping their plans for Dubai left and right but now... What parks are still planned for Dubai? Is a Six Flags still planned?

Why is a flume still in consideration? At Screamscape it reports that at the Maverick ride night it was said riders wouldn't get wet. Also there must be some significance to the Y in Whyte Lightning. It must have something to do with the ride because y in white is very unusual.

I don't care how long Snoopy has been around but there is no doubting that Nick is THE most relevant kids network today except for Disney. I think the only way it is a success is if CF goes out of their way to change the area for the better.

Firehawk is supposed to be a "Test-Pilot" kind of ride isn't it? I mean they do have that sign up near the front that says something to the effect of "Test Pilot Entrance". To risk sounding like a Disney fanboy the whole FH theme thing could kind of be used like Test Track with different test sections. Complete with on-ride audio of course...

Line Jumping Remember line jumping is not an Olympic sport. I don't care if your boyfriend is up near the front, I don't care if you had to go to the bathroom. I don't care if your son works as a ride op and he said you could go to the front. You're waiting in the same line that I am. (Most) Security will hunt you down and throw you out of line. So just don't do it okay?

Sounds like you had a great time. I really hope to get out there sometime... And if you thought Goliath was awesome you need to get to SFOT and ride Titan. It's the same except for one more of the awesome gray-out helixes!

^Screamscape has pretty much finalized a Dale Earnhart (sp?) theme for Carowinds coaster. The only piece that doesn't fit is that website. URL As far as Cedar Point goes with the twitter hints and this blog entry they have pretty much cut it down to to a couple manufacturers they haven't eliminated - Intamin - Premier - Vekoma - Smaller Manufacturers

The pnly seat I will ride on Vortex is 5-1. The reason it is so great is the fact that there is no headbanging. If you look at the people sitting in 4-2 while riding 5-1 there heads are banging like... well... they were riding an Arrow looper. Not in 5-1!

I had alot of fun walking around with Coaster Kid. What you guys did after I had to leave made me really wish I could have stayed. One more DB ride would have put me at 30. (That's a big deal to me)

Another reason to convince me to not wear flip flops to an amusement park. Although it is nice to not have to walk around with wet shoes and socks after riding a water ride...

I went and left after the tour and it was great. I want to say thanks to everyone that made the event possible. I had a great time meeting new people and riding the best steel coaster in Ohio!

The only ride that thrills me time after time is Drop Tower. I always count too fast and end up not knowing when it will drop. Thrills me every time

When I first saw the animations I was somewhat disappointed. But as I look them over more and more I am less and less disappointed and more excited. I believe now that it will be a fun ride and worth a trip down to KD. My only complaint is the OTSR's. If they just had lapbars the ride would be 3x better. I also wonder what's up with the 305 (I know that's how tall the ride is). Why not just name it Intimidator? That rolls off the tongue much easier. Unless Carowinds coaster is named Intimidator...

If that's true, it will be amazing! I believe this just may have some truth to it as Screamscape has said there was a job listing where the applicant must be willing to climb 350 ft. As for the speed MF goes 93mph, does 50 ft. really add 10mph to a coasters speed?

I thought of SRF too because why else would CP acknowledge a useless anniversary, I mean maybe 15 but 17?..., but I assumed that they were saying that SRF would not come back because they would "not make it a big deal". I don't know that's just me... For this GCI and Intamin thing, I believe we cannot value the "Gee, See, Eye" and "intamin" tweets because they also mentioned "I prefer my lunch TOGO...especially when there's lightning around." TOGO is a manufacturer (are they even around anymore?) Also mentioned is lightning, part of the rumored name stemming from the odd website found on the sponsor page. So if we are to take tweets seriously and without a grain of salt we are getting a togo with the name Whyte Lightning but I don't think we will so let's not jump to conclusions.

I think next year might finally be the year that X-Base becomes an official Area. That means that I think they will add a flat or two a gift shop, and perhaps a resteraunt(sp?)

I want to get on the ride so badly. With all the awesome technology and innovative coaster elements I think Universal may have a big hit on their hands. (Wow I sound like a PR guy)

Glad you had a good time! Oww.... A 2 hour line for TTD. I guess that isn't bad for CP but I have gotten lucky and never waited for more than 1 hr.

^^When I go on a wooden coaster (or any coaster for that matter) I expect to be thrilled and entertained and not to get off with a headache

I mildly dislike it. I am not willing to wait more than 10 minutes for it. I think however that if it comes between having a compact coaster (Invertigo) or no coaster I will take Invertigo anyday. I agree with Ki Man that with Carowind's Boomerangs restraints on Invertigo it would be a much better ride.

I first went on SOB in 2008 when I really got into roller coasters. As I had not fully become an enthusiast I had never heard of it and it's reputation. I remember going through the first helix (Is that the rose bowl?) and thinking how much it hurt. I think it could be a good maybe great ride if CF put some money into retracking and revamping it.
