out of curiosity, "scanned your pass" does this mean tha even with a platinum pass, i no longer have to go to the front entrance to sign a sheet, and all that junk i had to do last summer at guest services? will my platinum pass, purchased at ki work at the gates at cp? i'm headin up this weekend, so i'm wondering... thinkin i might use the marina gate entrance to get to millie quicker as well....

so bummed.... i made it up for about 3 hours this afternoon, but had lots of work to do, including a work meeting this morning... ugh. i did manage 2 rides on db (thanks to being a single rider) one on BLSC, two on Vortex and one on Beast. i also got my potato works fries and used my free drink armband quite a few times.... too bad the park was crowded, and too bad i could not make it in time for the beat tour i'll be up after the reds game tomorrow, probably for the last rides on DB. hope to meet some of you then?

unfortunately i was not able to get off work. i am very sorry, have a good time, and enjoy the legend for me! i hear its pretty amazing!

i'm very interested. i have been trying to get to holiday world for years now.... all i have to do is work on the financials.... AND GETTING OFF WORK.... grrr it would be awesome to have a group of people to go with!

i dont know about new restraints, but i would like to see a new ride program.... a bit longer. i've been on maxair at cp, and i'm sure many of you have as well... its a much longer, much more enjoyable ride... so lets hope for the best!

when i was in about 12 or 13... so mid nineties, a friend and i were spending the day at ki while our parents took in tennis across the street, and i lost my tamogtatchi to The Beast. (sp) anybody remember those things? my mother was ticked off. it was nearly brand new, and i had begged her to buy one for me since everyone else i knew had one. haha it was so trendy back then!

okay, first of all, this video is just promotional. we have no way of knowing what the layout is going to bed. from what i understand, that video is just clips of different portions of the ride, in no specific order. until we know the exact layout of the ride, we can hardly call this ride lame. it is rumored to be heavily themed as well as very intense. i have to ask, would you be calling it lame if it was being built at Kings Island? i doubt it. we would be praising the addition of a 135mph coaster, much like we did TTD even though it is a "one trick pony". S&S is known for world class attractions, and i'm sure stan and is crew will not disapoint with this new attraction.

new wooden coaster trains today at iaapa, the gravity group, known for world renowned wooden coasters all over the world made a big announcement. The creation of their new sister company "gravitycraft" Gravitycraft will specialize in state of the art wooden coaster trains called "timberliner" available for the 2009 season. the new timberliner trains include the ability for launches and magnetic braking systems.... the topic title is a joke, obviously i do not expect a launched 4d wooden coaster, but i suppose anything is possible now.... head over to www.newsplusnotes.com (who was the first to break this story) for more info on the new company and trains.

actually i was quite surprised to see our "crown" lacking a pine tree. for decades it has been tradition to top off any major steel project (such as skyscrapers, coasters and bridges) with a pine tree and the flag of the country where the project is located. I tried to look up the meaning, but found none. i guarantee you though that it has nothing to do with wooden coasters, or wood at all. it is something that has to do with the steel / construction industry for sure.

when i was about 14, (so ten years ago) i was at ki with my brother, his girlfriend, and her younger sister (who was my age) and very attractive. haha so ultimately i was trying to impress her all day long. (she never seemed interested) well, at one point, i went to the restroom, walked in, and immediately walked back out because i had accidentally walked into the womens room... that pretty much sealed the deal. haha no chance. she laughed hysterically, and everytime i see her, which is not very often anymore, she never lets me live it down.

another reason they may have worked so late is becasue of the weather today. but also a lot of what RZ said.

coney is really going to put a "twist" on the wet side of the park... just announced via enquirer.com: http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20081023/ENT/81023009 Twister. a 4 slide tower at sunlite pool. 2million capital investment 2 body slides, 2 tube slides 3 times as long as zoom flume named after a coaster that operated in the 1920's at coney should be a great investment for the park. edit: i think we need to change the title of this now to "Coney Island 2009: Twister Construction".... and make sure that it gets just as much attention and posts / views as the Diamondback construction thread.

working lat tonight... adding another portion to the left side of the big support right now. they must really want to get this lift done! either that, or i guess like someone said, with portions of the supports out in the midway i suppose they have to get it finished before haunt tomorrow night.

"A: The primary reason for the different colored supports is we wanted to highlight the height of the ride. Diamondback will stand 230 feet at its highest point making it the tallest ride in the park." does that mean Drop Tower is being removed? haha j/k. though his statement should say tallest coaster in the park. great to see updates on the blog, i'm loving every bit of this project so far!!

i have been a season pass holder for 20 years now (i am currently 24) and this is the first year that i did not have a pass, and failed to make it to the park in that amount of time, regardless of living less than a half hour away. i do hope to make it to HH. currently shooting for the last day, Nov. 1st. haha hopefully i will make it. i did however make it to CP last weekend. it was a great trip, even though saturday was very crowded.

i was also at the park this weekend. though we passed on friday night since we did not arrive until afte 9pm, we just checked into the hotel. saturday was crazy! thank goodness we got there around 11am, we were about 3/4ths of the way back in the lot. lines were already long. we got magnum, millie, skyhawk, then left to go to fridays for dinner. we returned around 6pm and had to park in the challenge park lot, no spots to be found anywhere! we did get to check out every haunt except for undertaker u and the mummy one though, as well as catch an evening ride on raptor, skyride and dragster. The haunt lines really do move faster than you would think. I for one was very entertained by corn stalkers, terror island and carn-evil becuase one of the girls i was with was absolutely terrified of everything! it was hillarious, the rest of the group (myself, a friend and his girlfriend) just kept cracking up laughing. Good times. Sunday was much better. Much less crowded, got to do maverick, millie again, raptor again, maxair (which i agree is totally better than Delirium) disaster transport, dragster again, rode the train, played a round of putt-putt and hit a few more flats. it was a very enjoyable weekend, with great weather for october! check out my pictures on my facebook album. "the park strikes back" "move slowly, do not disturb" anyone thought about "beast hunter" or something along those lines. i know that type of theme for a coaster has been discussed before, and honestly, that was one of the first things i was thinking when i read the signs.... "be very very quiet, i'm hunting beasts" - elmer fudd at Kings Island???
