  1. actually, this "Frequent Faller" is much like S&S Power's Screaming Squirrel, however the one big difference is the fact that Interactive's Frequent Faller, the seats are open and swing back and forth, kind ofl ike the way you can rock a ferris wheel seat. The Rocking seats should make the ride that much more interesting... i'm all about seein one local, but not necesarily pki. i'm looking for much bigger things in 05!
  2. i heard it on the radio... the competition between BB and the Beach will heat up in the future... now that PKI has a highly marketable waterpark, i think The Beach needs to add more than what they did this year (cant recall exactly what it was, but it isnt much). They need a major expansion and maybe a master blaster or something of that magnitude to keep up. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens... but i think BB is really going to hurt the beach since it is free with park admission and with a season pass.
  3. the cost will be $17.95 i beleive. not bad considering i paid 30 something last time it was in town... lol
  4. i never remember water under The Beast, but i do remember hearing about it. i can see how the standing water would attract insects (mosquito's) most probably, and well, i wouldnt want them all over me while i was in line, so gettin rid of the water was probably in everyones best interest.
  5. experienced them for the first time last night... i really do not think they make much of a difference in the ride at all. they are just there for safty, and as a precaution do to all the accidents lately. no big deal, they dont bother me at all, i dont think they ahve an effect either way.
  6. were you sitting near the front? one thing i find is that The Beast is much smoother towards the front of the train.... me i still prefer the back just because of the way you are pulled over the top of the lift by the momentum of the rest of the train.... next time i will do just that... part of the ride experience is how you are treated by the ride ops, and what they do to make your ride more enjoyable. I think that last night they created a near perfect atmosphere.
  7. yup, it was none other than ME! forgot to mention The Beast crew... they were awesome! "if your gonna ride The Beast clap your hands" ha ha... great times!
  8. hey guys.... finally made my first trip of the year! Yay! i've never written a trip report, but i'm gonna give it a shot. heres how it went... sorry its so long... i just like to include detail! finished up my exam this morning then took a nap.... bout 6 i made a random phone call and asked my friend if she watned to head to the park for the evening. arrived to a nearly empty parking lot around 7pm. Headed straight for Delirium since she has never ridden. Waited 10 minutes (two rides) and then we were up... great way to kick off the year. Next we headed to Drop Zone. Again, waited around 10 minutes, and for some reason it just didnt seem to pack the punch it normally does.... maybe it was the lightning in the distance... ha ha... As we were leaving the exit for DZ (7:40) the storm alarm went off and i becamse upset because the rides were closing. headed over to the festhaus. Had some extremely over-priced chicken tenders and a Coke; then i gave DDR a shot just to kill some time... yeah, i'm not hte most coordinated person in the world... ha ha. Anyway, we were tired of sitting in the festhaus, so we walked in the rain over to the emporium to look around. the rain stopped around 9 and that left us with an hour in the park... this is where it gets fun! As if the park wasnt already slow, now it was literally dead empty! Made a quick run for the dodgems while the costers were drying off (running empty). by 915 we were in line for FOF, but the train in front of us stalled in the station.... blah, so we decided to cut our losses and head for Vortex. Of course it was a Walk-on as was everything, but it seemed to be rougher than i remember (perhaps it was the rain???) After The Vortex we ran over to The Beast. While sitting in the last seat on train 2, i look up and in line is a young girl with a PKI-C shirt, with her sister and middle aged mother... i heard a comment about the Chicago White Sox and it was then i realized it was obviously Mrs. G and her daughters (were you in the park or am i just an idiot) lol... I waved and screamed PKI-C Rules to them as our train exited the station. Now, I have been riding The Beast for over 10 years (i'm 19 now) and this was HANDS DOWN THE BEST RIDE I HAVE EVER HAD! It was back seat, just after the rain, and a nice misty fog back in the woods. It was running FAST! Just the way i like it... I dont know what made it so great, (perhaps it was the little tickle my friend gave my stomache while going through pitched black tunnel 2 or maybe it was just the aptmosphere that was created after the rain... i truly don't know, but it was an awesome ride! The only thing that sucked was the mid course brakes... but those have always sucked. ha ha GREAT RIDE! After The Beast, we headed over to Tomb Raider around 945. no more than 10 people on the ride. it was good, but every time i ride i'm dissapointed because i keep hoping there may be a new ride program.... oh well. At 958 we got off TR:TR and ran back to The Beast for one last ride. We made it just in time for the final ride of the night. we were in line for the front but they made us move to the middle cause the ride op's knew it was the last train. Not as good as my first ride, but still a great run on a great wooden coaster, and i got to spend some quailty time with a great girl and a great friend. Overall it was an amazing trip to the park. i cannot decide if the rain was a good thing or a bad thing. i mean i guess it was a little of both, it cut a good 45 minutes to an hour of our already short ride time, but it also cleared the park and set up a picture perfect ride on The Beast. Delirium : 1 DZ: 1 Dodgems: 1 Vortex : 1 TR:TR : 1 Beast : 2 not bad for 3 hours at the park, one of which was spent inside due to rain.
  9. depending on wat the height of the new sign will be, and how deep those support poles go into the ground, they are probably just waiting for the concrete to settle all the way before adding any real height or weight to it.... much like footers for coasters need to settle before being built on. its been what, a week? i'm sure we will see more progress soon.
  10. yeah... it was just here, normally it makes the rounds once a year or once every two years... doesnt make much sense to me either... while i'm excited to see pf again, there is one that is choreographed to classic rock hits in general... which would also be a good one to see.....
  11. Well... just surfin the pki website and it looks like HOB entertainment is bringing the PINK FLOYD LASER SPECTACULAR to PKI on July the 3rd! This is very exciting news... i am a huge PF fan, and since they no longer tour or anything this laser show is the next best thing to seeing them live. it is a very uniqe experience. i have had the pleasure of seeing it several times, however all indoors.... seeing it at timberwolf should make the whole thing even better! check out the show's website for deatils! www.laserspectacular.com
  12. ha ha... aight, i was just kinda curious
  13. looks like its gonna be HUGE! i'm pumped!
  14. is that actually paul hogan? hard to tell from the pic... i didnt hear wether he wasactually there or not... so i'm just kinda curious!
  15. freakin awesome! i'm pumped.... its been way too long and i'vealways missed that ride.... maybe this will start a trend and perhaps 007 will return next year? maybe make some kind of rotation or something? That would be sweeeeet!
  16. blue man group was just recently in cincinnati. (september) ok, notso recently, but they played at riverbend... it was an amazing show. Like said above, i dont think that timberwolf could handle a show of that magnitude...i would love to see it cause tickets would probably be cheaper than what i payed last year... but i do not see it happening
  17. if the adams family rumor is coming true, and we are getting a vertical drop coaster, i really hate to say this but i doubt it will be B&M. I would bet on a Gerstlauer EuroFighter. This idea has been brought up on other sites, and has pretty much been shot down from what i've read, but honestly i would prefer this to a Beemer. I know i've been hoping for some great swiss steel at PKI for years now, but if they are going to go all out and theme this sucker, i really think this smaller model packs more of a punch and would be much more exciting. chekc it out at RCDB: http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail2229.htm that looks like just the kind of coaster that you could put inside of a "mansion" and have it twist and turn through all of the hallwyas and rooms from the adams family.... maybe even take a spin outside in that "graveyard" the concept talked about... i guess we'll all just have to wait and see what PKI has in store for us.... if they are going B&M, i dont want a dive machine... they just realy dont impress me... i'd much rather see a quality high capacity beemer than a one trick pony.... now if they build a Euro Fighter, i think it would really pack a punch and add to the variety of the park.... also, think about it, when was the last time paramount built a big name ride at one of their parks? By big name i mean vekoma, B&M, and Intamin. The last would be Stealth am i right? Lately they ave been adding smaller wild mouse coasteres and this year at Canada's wonderland a Zamperela Flyer... A Gerstlauer coaster would prety much fit right in with the line they have added in recent years..
  18. well folks, iwouldnt count on a B&M dive machine at PKI anytime soon.... while i would love to have one of these intense machines, i jus dont see it happening... there is a strong rumor circulating (that i found out about on coasterbuzz) that Bush Gardens Tampa will be building a B&M Diver for the 2005 season Read More Here: http://www.coasterbuzz.com/2004-126-837443.htm PKI is known for building new and innovative rides, and the only way i think they would go for one fo these "one trick pony's" is if it could be the first in the states... i know that FL isnt exactly close to here, but First in the States would be PKI worthy bragging rights, and if they are going to go for it, i cant see them doing it the same year as another park... i have no doubt in my mind that 05' will be the year of the beemer at PKI, however i really do not think we are going to see a dive machine... I WOULD LOVE TO BE WRONG!
  19. ha ha... sure is... stupid me lol... well i'll prolly go to spirit song just for those groups... i love their sound!
  20. so roaming over pollstar's site... looks like HOB Entertainment is getting started early with this whole bringing in names things.... i found 2 dates announced for timberwolf so far... one which is no surprise Michael W. Smith on August 14th, however one that i found very surprising, and has me ready for some music is Reliant K with Audio Adrenaline on july 9th! Woo Hoo! For anybody that knows these two bands... they really know how to rock out! I love it! check out the link here: http://www.pollstar.com/tour/searchall.pl?...Y&Date=08/14/04
  21. ditry steve beat me to it.... food sucks! their burgers are outright horrible! I vote no for planet hollywood! I'd rather see somehting like House of Blues (which is a deffinite possibility, being that HOB entertainment is now in charge of booking Timberwolf (in case you didnt hear)...
  22. well, fairly big name bands.... more like the older less popular 80's bands that still need to tour, or the newer punky bands that appeal to smaller club aptmospheres.... most HOB's hold less than 2000 people however it will be interesting to see what they do with a 10,000 seat venue.... i know that stephen tyler has something like a 30% share in HOB, so who knows... maybe we could se Aerosmith at Timberwolf! (hopes and prays... not counting on it) Could be a good year for concerts at PKI!
  23. first time i heard this rumor was around 1997... and every year since then... now if the rumors were not true then, i'm sure they are not true now... cause if something was really wrong with it back then and they were even thinking about removing it, dont you think it would be gone by now? i don't see The Vortex going anywhere....
  24. Hey all, just wondering if anyone was planning on heading up to the park this weekend... with temps near 80 degrees and nothing but sunshine in the forecast both saturday and sunday i can imagine the park will be crowded, but it will also just be perfect weather to be there.... Right now i'm lookin at sunday (cause saturday i'm hopefully buyin a new truck) No guarentees, just a plan right now, but if anybody is gonna be around and maybe wants to hook up for a while, just let me know via this thread! hope to see some of you this weekend!
  25. thanks dan... i was just curious
