turtle, GAME ON was the name of the show.. and it was awesome! it was around for 2 seasons maybe? from what i heard they took it out because it was very expensive. giving away big expensive prizes like TV's and such every day was getting quite costly. they used to roll a big colored dice to decide which group of the audience got to play. i always sat in the red section. one time i got to play the childs version where they just ask you a question. i answered right and got a free ice cream at the "sweet shop" by The Racer. ohhh how i miss GAME ON....

capn, new track building technique? what exactly do you mean, and how will it be used on SOB?

roller coaster: tie between Vortex and top gun. both are very exciting rides. Vortex for its first drop and inversions, while i like top gun because of the constant swinging back and forth and its speed through the turn by SOB... flat: Shake Rattle & Roll... i will never beable to get enough of that ride! constant thrill!

chef, Couch (not sure of his first name) who owns the park, also owns the land adjacent to the park, and has for years. it has been his RV Dealership. He bought the park and ran it for a year or so, but when it showed signs of success broke off his parnership becuase some beleive he does not want the park to succeed. he just wants the l and the park is on to expand his RV business. I think what Rickster is trying to say, is that if the general public or enthusiasts found out that he was trying to make the park fail, only to gain the land for his business, they would gladyl take their business elsewhere... i know i would! :bike: P.S.... i like the new smiley's!

i agree with mars. it would be way too costly, it could be done, but it would have to be done perfectly, and i think the system would have to be too complex. i just tried to type it and explain it, but its just too hard to explain.

Which would you rather PKI model itself after?
specialk141 replied to italianchef's topic in KI Polls
:cowboy: well Mr. Chef, i'd actually like to see a combination of option 1 and option 2. for now i voted for option 2 just becuase am a 19 year old young man, with no intention of having a family anytime soon, and i am the youngest in my family (on both sides) therefore, the family attractions do not appeal to me at this time... However, 10 years from now as i stated in the thread realted to 10 years from now, i would like to see PKI as more of a family oriented theme park, as well as a park that has kept up with state of the art thrill rides. i really hope to see PKI expand on what it is now and become its own type of park. one that caters to both families and thrill seekers, while still incorporating heavy theming to all of its attractions... as for record breaking coasters... i'm not one who is all about the biggest and the fastest... i'm all about ride quality, and overall enjoyment of the ride. I love TTD, however i dont think the 17 seconds it lasted was worth my 6 hour wait on opening day... just doesnt have the quality i'm looking for. I didnt enjoy it as much as i do a good old night ride on The Beast... i hope to see PKI add at least one more overall great coaster to their already amazing arsenal in the next few years. My two cents.... -
backwards.... i really think that there is more airtime traveling backwards... specially just after the turn-around.... and the bunny hops.... great airtime! :cowboy:

i really miss the smurf ride (enchanted voyage). I think the smurfs are very loveable creatures. its a real shame that children today cannot enjoy the exting, entertaining ride that most of us once did... I miss james bond AND days of thunder (my favorite movie) I also think that the festhaus is not the same now... since they removed the ice show. i always thought that was nifty... specially the one where they had the motorcycle on the ice and played leader of the pack! The ice show was very unique to Kings Island, and its one more thing paramount decided we could do without.... thats it i guess... :cowboy:

i tooootallly miss good old KC! as for manyof us, it was my first stand-up coaster. i remember having to be persuaded to go on it in the first place. then once my friends got me in line, they wanted me to ride the front seat and i said heck no... and insisted on sitting in the middle (as many people do on coasters).... needless to say, i loved it, and this time it was me who insisted we get right back on and ride again. this time i was going to go in the front seat! KC was my 2nd Fav coaster at PKI (next to the one and only Vortex) and i miss it dearly! :cowboy:

as i stated above, i love SR&R.... but it can never compare to a good old snap or two on the FLYERS! :cowboy:

ok well yeah, i owuld love to see americana re-open, and i would totally meet up for a pki-c day there... but i dont see this happening. here is why: Im a cincy local, and i work for a local ride company (yes im a carnie).... anyway, earlier this summer i asked my boss (who keeps up with the folks in the industry) and knows mr. couch (owner of park) what he thought about americana / lesourdesville. He says, and im beginning to agree with him, that : Couch never had any intention of running an amusment park, he just wanted the land for his campers, and is trying to make the business fail.... well, i dont know couch at all.... but as far as i know, (from what my boss told me) once he bought the park, he pretty much turned it all over to another company, and that other company is the one who put all the money and new rides into the park.... when the park showed some signs of success, he broke off the relationship with his partner company... who know whats happens now! I didnt get a chance to make it to the park last year, and i would really hate to miss out on it again! Lets hope for it reopening, cause lord knows that Screechin Eagle is a grre at coaster... but i don't see it happening. :cowboy:

well, i dont really have any precise predictions like chef's.... but i do like his ideas. it is my beleif that in the next 10 years, PKI will continue to grow, and expand. since they are trying to be more of a theme park than a thrill riders paradise, i beleive that they will add more themed rides and become more of a universial studios type park. perhaps more simulator rides like ET and Back to the Furture (only obviously with paramount themes) in the next ten years i see 2 major coasters and perhaps a wild mouse. as far as thrill rides are concerned maybe 2 or 3 flats as well, but i really think paramount is going to continue to become more of a family destination than anything. just my thoughts. :cowboy:

11. hanging out the side of the car and trying to grab leaves 12. grabbing more leaves than your friend and rubbing it in his face! lol.... SR&R is the best flat PKI has... IMO. It always gives a thrill, i love having my stomache turned all different directions. it is a great feeling. i am 19 now and have been riding since i was like 5. that was the one ride i always made my dad take me on. and now that i'm big enough to go wtihout an adult, i never miss it. I cannot wait untill they day i can introduce my own son to the amazing power that is SR&R! proably quite a few years off! lol :cowboy:

Kings Island lines compared to other parks
specialk141 replied to flightoffear1996's topic in Kings Island
i dont think Kings Island lines are bad at all.... Cedar Point lines are not bad at all.. they are longer, but they seem to move faster becuase of the live dj's that are around sometmes. i have to say that is truly my favorite part about CP... lets face it, Q-TV, or whatever they call it now just isnt cutting it anymore! Lets step up the ETertainment in lines to make them seem faster... what do you al think? :cowboy: -
ahhh... a new coaster somewhere would be wonderful... coney sounds like a great place to me... make it beemer and i'll be in heaven! :cowboy:

i dont really scream that much. usually my friends and i do annoying chants the whole way... like "the chop" from the atlanta braves, or the "olay" soccer chant... then other times we just do a rise and fall type thing... oooooo0000OOOOO00ooo... where we peak at the top of hills and stuff like that.... kinda fun for us, but annoying for other people. Its really great when you can get the whole train doing it! lol... good times :cowboy:

hmm.... i really dont know. I'm not a big fan of body slides, just because when i was at the now closed Surf Cincinnati, and riding "the blue bullet" (before they painted it red and yellow) my mat turned around sideways about halfway down, and i my head was hanging off one side of the slide and my legs off the other. it was really scary, specially for a 10 yr old. Scared the crap out of the life guard and my older sister who was at the top, next in line to go down.... kinda turned me off of body slides. i'm always afraid its going to happen again. I guess i'm all for Typhoon, but i'll probably give The Racers at least one try... :cowboy:

Dane or Dan, any idea on when we may see pics from Closing Day, Construction Tour and PKI-C Group shots if there are any? i know your probably doing the best you can to get them up quick, but i'm kind of anxious! :cowboy:
-
well lets hope so.... i would like to see the ride lengthened, with more "spins" i always feel like i'm getting shafted when i ride. like it keeps getting shorter every time... still a great ride, but could deffinetly use a little change! :cowboy:
-
sounds like you guys had a blast! Sorry i couldnt make it... :cowboy:

I do however still have faith that 05 will be the year of the beemer at PKI... we are way overdue for a coaster by one of the greatest manufacturer's in the world... B&M. :cowboy:
