Monroe??? Whatever do you mean...we get plenty o benifits for working 60 hours a week in 90 degree weather.
-
I doubt that becuase thats the year the viking fury was opened....are you sure you foudn a map for pki...maybe you got it confused with a 1982 rand mcnally man.
-
.... Yea...just quoting you i think gets my point across.... becuase if i tried to express in my own words what i'm feeling, someone would definitley delete my post bcuase it would be downright obscene and it would ridicule your intelligence to the fullest of my ability.
-
So it was in HDTV. I dont get it, you work at the freaking park, do you not??? Are you saying you actually got excited that it was in HDTV rather than normal TV even though you see the dang rides every single day of the summer? Whatever floats your boat man.

Dont drink, its bad for you. I would never drink, it just leads to trouble.

HA! if you thought parking was a nightmare...crap, i remember express's line was out past slingshot. AND for the record, BFFD is more than once a year for whoever said that it was just the last weekend or whatever...lets see. We had two in preseason which were not crowded at all. We had that one on August 8th, that was a midnight close...umm and we had the last weekend. I think there was another one in there somewhere too. so that's like at least 5.

Just to add to all the ramble here on the boards...the thing of course has a manual drop of some sort, beucase they sure havent used the 'repel like a jackass' method yet, so logical thinking would generally say that theres another way. And mr. fire fighter dude, you obviously know way more about me than fire fighting and all that stuff, and you got mad in an earlier post for someone saying something about fire fighting or that ussr truck or whatever its called. Well take your advice yo, we know more about pki, so dont go assuming about elevators and what not. The elevator does not run the hieght of the tower. Once you go in that hatch, there is a spiral staircase that goes up a little bit, i think to maybe about the top of the black section. Thats where the elevator is. And this runs nearly to the top, where i believe there is another staitcase. But i have never heard that about the evacuation you speak of, that is decently interesting, the only rumor ive ever heard was that they could repel down from a helicopter and do pretty much the same thing. the only reason i kind of believed this was becuase the helicpotor tour ride thing was added the same year as DZ, at least this is what i'm told. If you are indeed correct, then that does tell for a good story chap.

No not that small one i was talkin about by the cages...it was surrounded by trees and shrub and yea...it was just as old as the cages...maybe it wasnt used for the monorail...but it was definitley built a darn long time ago
-
I'm too lazy to read all of that. Let me know when the cliff notes come out.

Cages indeed still exist, dont know about caves though. They are right behind Son of Beast lift. If you ride and look to the right side when you're getting your picture taken you might be able to see them, maybe, in the fall with no leaves on the trees. It's seriously very creepy. I was down there once and, well, if you've never noticed, SOB is built on top of a creek. The whole darn ride is like on top of a bridge. It's the creek that goes under top guns station. It goes into a tunnel right where the top gun helix is, and the base of SOB's lift...and it comes out on the other side of the loop. IT goes straight under the lift, loop, and some sections of track. ANYWAYS, saw another cement bridge thingy one day down there by the creeks bridge and literally only walked like 15 feet into the woods to look at it, and about got the sh*t scared out of me becuase i looked up and saw all the old animal cages, they're all wood, and falling apart, the fencing is all rusted...but there is like 5 or 6 back there, all kind of in a line, alternating perfectly so that maybe the track for the monorail could go right in between them. I was looking for evidence of the track and really couldnt find much but that bridge. It's really overgrown back there considering the monorail hasnt been there for only like 10 years.

BoObKiNoS replied to beastbreakdown's topic in Kings Island
78.3 mph thankyouverymuch. -
Yea, next to drinking and college, I would have no life. Summers would never be the same

Which coaster is the smoothest and roughtest
BoObKiNoS replied to rollercoaster's topic in Kings Island
How do you know where to sit if you have never had a rough ride? Middle seats of the car bud. If you sit on top of a wheel you're going to get f'd up. -
It's nice that you know my name sobrider, or PAT. George

Which coaster is the smoothest and roughtest
BoObKiNoS replied to rollercoaster's topic in Kings Island
I think that Monroe...i mean..S500 is right. And i also agree that Congo is probably the roughest...especially after it rains...man dem waves really produce a rough ride. As for the smoothest id say SOB has it down pretty tight. I've never had a rough ride on that thing...i dont know what the heck ya'll talkin bout. Its all about where ya sit at folks. -
Being an employee who has worked on SOB for the last 2 seasons, I will shed some light on rollbacks. I've never ever ever ever heard of a roller coaster rolling back at PKI, and it DEFINITLEY has NEVER happened on SOB. Simply not possible. In another note, everyone is right by saying that coasters are built to sway...just the same as tall buildings. Both are designed to move...and boy do they.

The contract went up for Kodak's right to Face Off photo, so they had an extra photo trailer, and according to my photo girls the Mystery machine was a piece of sh*t, so they just took it out and moved face off's over there. It's sitting out in a backstage area i do believe.

IT's not going to be like the weekend of the 4th, why would it be that busy???? Fearfest by itself never drew a large crowd, except for one time like 2 years ago. And yes thats how they are doing it, for whoever was wondering if it was for sure.

Rides is the only way to go.
-
The park does consider it two. Frontwards is called Racer North. Backwards is called Racer South.
-
This is some of the most ridiculous stuff that i've ever heard. You people are crazy. They arent going to modify top gun!! They just dont go in and modify rides for the crap of it. It just doesnt happen.
-
I'm pretty sure Racer still uses their original trains. I know beast uses their orignal trains...although they are modified, they used to have 4 seats in each car, not 3.
-
The new restraints only offer 1/8 inch difference in leg room. Just so you know.

Dude, where did you hear that the designer didnt want his name on it, thats absurd...if he didnt, then why would he claim it as one of the rides he designed on his very own website: http://members.aol.com/rcstengel/ Go there. It's listed. And if even one person claims that he must be a crappy designer becuase the ride is rough i'll smack ya, becuase he designed Top Thrill Dragster too. Dont beleive me?? Go there. It's also listed: http://members.aol.com/rcstengel/st-latest.html - thats the link for all the recent rides he's been involved with. SOO basically, if he didnt want his name on it, why would his little homepage have it listed??? Riddle me that batman AND for you captain pico, i dont know what you are talking about, but i ride it at least twice a day...6 days a week. If anything more than that. And i rode it that much last year too, so i think i would know. smart@$$ D. Piddy SOB/GUN Crew 2003 Express/Ship Crew & SOB/GUN Crew 2002 Express/Ship Crew 2001

Whoa guys. You're all cracking me up here. Alright, to set some stuff straight: Beastfreak is right about the ride always giving off a different feel. Depending on weather, and even to the weight of the train its always going to be differnt. Dont expect it to be the same every time you ride it. Mr. Captain Pico dude, the thing is a lot smoother than last year if you ask me, and just about any other person who rides the thing reguraly (like a couple times a day) i bet would agree. 7D - I severly doubt that they had another company that was going to build it and then pki took over, simply becuase ANOTHER COMPANY DID BUILD IT. RCCA did....but in conjunction with Werner Stengal desiging it, and PKI's world class team of carpenters and some outside contracting company who brought in more carpenters. JKRue - you are right and i respect the fact that you know what you are actually talking about, with PTC and all, and the fact that SOB is not going to get new trains, i mean think about it...Beast and Racer are using the same trains they opened with decades ago. And for you boodah im positive that PKI isnt dumb, i'm pretty friggin sure that they know the ride isnt as smooth as glass... Going and complaing to guest relatinos will not get anything accomplished. OK. Now for you sobrider, you are the most wrong of everyone...you literally have no idea what you are talking about. RCCA didnt cut corners building the thing...its not like you can just throw blueprints out and just start nailing wood together...i mean crap, they're so much engineering involved if something was one inch off the whole ride would be offset. I dont know where you heard that but thats got to be some of the most ridiculous stuff i've ever heard. AND for someones sake guys...the MCBR or whatever you call them brakes out there dont change. just trust me on this aight??? they're always the same. ALWAYS. They are the same. and i have a pretty good hint of a clue that the lift doesnt randomly speed up and slow down either. I dont know where you're getting this stuff from, but its really sad. and about trackwork...i guess you might be right, but you have no evidence of that. are you just making stuff up????? Common Pat, stop typing stuff up that you have no evidence of.
