Should CDBB get a water-spraying suspended coaster
DragonLord replied to italianchef's topic in Kings Island
A Super Saturator would be totally awsome in the water park! It would make PKI pretty unique b/c I don't think there are many of them out there. We've got plenty more room out there, so who knows what's coming up next? -
The only thing I can think of that might be there is the storage shead for the inner tubes. I'm really not sure since I can't see the entire area.

Rivets are never allowd on swimsuites. It's posted at both entrances of the water park, at the entrance of the rides and in the rules listed on the map. There are to be no metal anything (rivets included) on swim wear because it can damage the rides. If you have been riding these rides with the same swim trunks on before, it just means the life guard(s) haven't been paying much attention. Kudos to the one who actually followed the rules and let you know. Sorry if it made you have a bad day, but you can go to GR in the water park and you can cut the rivets out (they usually aren't on for anything other decoration anyway) or you could have bought new ones from Matilda's or something. But know that you know hopefully you will be better prepared next time you visit.

Probably too much chlorine. If you do start feeling bad in the water park, you need to let a life guard, security or First Aid know. Sometimes people don't complain about it and we don't know that there might be a problem.

You know if you happen to come across a really friendly employee (wheather you know them or not) or they do something really nice for you that you can report that at GR under the front gate and that employee will (at least they are supposed to be) be recognized by their managers and can possibly get rewarded with "Funcentive Points" which are used by employees to get different rewards like CP tickets (among almost a dozen other places) and different park gear and more. The recognition is really good, though, funcentive points or not, because that helps when it comes to promotions/pay raises and rehire status. You can also do the same thing if you come across an employee who was really rude, being unsafe, unfriendly, ect... and the managers will take care of the issues. The parade used to be longer when it first started... I think they are speeding it up a little. *Shrug* Ugh... WOW is nice but man do regular guests complain!

The new resort will bring in more money than the campground does, not to mention more people. It's more than just a resort, but also a conference center and it will be open 365 days a year, unlike the camp ground. I do keep hoping (and sometimes hearing) that the campground will be moved farther back into the woods (maybe) or next to BB. None the less, you know if the park does rebuild the campground, it will be bigger and better with more things for the kids to do and better hookups for the RVs and more camp sites. Maybe it too will stay open 365 days a year? Maybe it will be moved down by the river and we can add in some rafting and maybe fishing?

Sounds like a great time! Everyone forgets the "Team Base" targets and the big target in the middle of Laser Tag. Even if all the team memebers are bad shots, if you get the other team's target and the target in the middle you still might win! BTW... anyone notice that the map of the "field" is from Carowinds?

If you just ask for a glass of ice water, it's free. You would have saved 3 bucks by not getting a bottled water.

I had a blast that night, and seeing everyone was a treat. PKIDi and I rode in the very last seat of The Beast which I have never done before. The air time was awsome, but I did get a little bashed. My seat belt also came undone sometime during the ride...

"Kicken it all over town, this party's getting out of bounds! Every day's a second chance so get off your feet and dance!" Gotta love the theme song! The parad is pretty cool, but people have to remember not to expect a Disney production! When I walk the end of the parad in my wonderful duckling shirt I hear nothing but good things. I tend to agree with the sound, but the sound is the que for the dancers and stuff, if they can't hear it, the parade might get screwed up.

Two things: First off, we can't keep the burning ash from falling on the street if the wind is blowing it that way. The only thing that could have been done would have been to try and push everyone that close back some more, which wouldn't have been a easy to do. We try to judge where and how things will fall, hence the roped off areas. It's hard to work well with Mother Nature though. Second thing: You can watch the fire works from the Kroger parking lot in Kings Mills or anywhere else you can see the Tower. If you can see the Tower pretty well, then you can see the fire works. I plan on going to the Kroger store tonight to watch. Traffic can get pretty bad, but almost all of that was due to the traffic on the Drive stopping to watch. We did have Mason officers on both sides of the Drive controlling the lights, so we are doing our best. As long as you enjoyed them, then we did a great job! Kudos to the employees who had to work doubles and come in early today! Troopers all of you!

The biggest places for thefts from rides in the park at The Beast, Vortex and Son of Beast. These are convenient locations for thefts because of the restrooms right out of the rides and the garbage cans all around. We are not responsible for lost or stolen articles, but I can see where you can get upset. You must understand that you shouldn't leave expensive things alone, and if you have a lot of cash, carry it on you! If that means buying something that goes around your neck and you can wear under a shirt, or buying a belt with a "secret" zipper compartment inside of it, or some other way of carrying cash, then do it! Most of the time the bags/purses are recovered with only the cash missing. Reports are really only good if something like travelers checks and credit cards or insured items like some cell phones, cameras, ect. Check with your provider if you have insurance or check with your home insurance to see if you are covered for theft of articles while on vacation. These items, because of fraud or the possibility of being reimbursed from insurance, require a police report. Our police reports can be used in those cases. Unfortunately if only cash is missing the only thing on really can do is report it to us so that we can keep track of the thefts. Just be smart about your stuff. If there is a compartment to place your items in, like in The Beast station, then put your bags in those compartments. Don't just toss it on the ground or place it on top of the compartments. Anything placed on top of the compartment can be walked off with by someone walking on the exit, the same with anything placed on the floor next to the exit if it's small enough to be squeezed through the railing. Ride Ops: Make sure you are using the compartments if you have them! I have been in The Beast station many times and no one has been using the compartments. If they are in your ride, then you should be using them! This will help cut down on some of the thefts.

Extreamly doubful of a rescheduel of DJ Scribble.

Xtended Play was pretty cool. The crowd was awsome! They were there to have fun and showed. We had no problems. The DJ was pretty cool, the music was great, and the dancing... WOW! I have no idea how some of those guys can move like that! There was plenty of things to see. As of the rides in AZ (except for Delirium) they were only open to those at Xtended Play. They enjoyed that... a lot of them rode SoB and DZ a ton of times. I'm suprised no one got sick. I look forward to the 25th with DJ Scribble! That should be cool!

And it has to be you both times b/c they use a biometric finger print scanner to record your finger print when you come in the first day. They then check your finger print again when you come in for the second. It's pretty cool... and could be sign for things to come!

What is the weirdest thing left behind
DragonLord replied to MovieGoddess9704's topic in Kings Island
Glasses... man, I feel sorry for Lost and Found! Here's a tip for glasses... On every pair of glasses there is an engraving somewhere... on mine it happens to be next to the ear piece. There is usually a serial number, lot number, product number, even your prescription (like on mine) is engraved on your glasses. If you can write that down somewhere where it won't be lost at PKI you have a much better chance of getting your glasses back. It's difficut to pick out there right pair out of the houndreds that they get if all you can say is that they are gold with black ear pieces or something. If you can give them that information, they can look at every pair that looks like your description and hopefully return the right pair to you. -
Odds are whatever happened no one is supposed to talk about. He could have been being nice and taking people to their car or something (although I doubt it).

The incident at the front gate last year did happen and about a week before or after that a security officer was shot and wounded at the front gate of Canada's Wonderland. The metal detectors, although they might be annoying, are there for your protection. Even the employees have to go through them at our entrance. It's just a part of keeping a reasonably safe environment. Just do your part to make things go quickly... don't bring in coolers, backpacks, large bags, large purses, knifes. Also don't wear any of the "Goth" jewelry. The spiked (only spiked, if it's rounded, it should be okay) necklaces, bracelets, belts, aren't allowed in the park. The security personnel at the front gate will let you know what you can and cannot bring into the park. Arguing won't get you anywhere, so please don't bother. We don't bend the rules. The best it will get you is someone telling you that you won't be allowed to come in the park at all.

Well, from someone who knows... here you go: Our Park Police officers are full fledged police officers. They have all the rights and privlages of any police officer as long as they are on park property. They must go through the same training as all other police officers and they are deputized by the city of Mason. Kings Island is in the city of Mason, Warren County, State of Ohio, therefore all of those agencies have jursidiction on the park as well. We do, on occasion, ask for assitance for those different departpartments. Sometimes you can see County units or the Mason PD walking around the Theme Park or patroling the parking lots.
-
Well, it could be a place other than PKI... Odds are he's a worker, so the controls are probably locked out and it would be almost impossible for a train to be launched while he's on the track like that... I would hate to see the aftermath, however, if a train were launched and he didn't get out of the way...

Wow... the can of worms I opened. I'll give some more info... It's hard to get guys to wear their shrits when it's hot outside. However, the choice is simple... I ask them once. If they don't listen I ask again. The third time their option is to leave the park or keep their shirt on. 99% of the time the shirt goes on and stays on. Most guys do keep their shirts on. It's funny when I ask someone to put it on they say "are you going to tell everyone else with their shirts off to put 'em on?". I tell them yes and think to myself, 'it's been 5 hours into a shift and your the third person I've had to tell'. As of the females... as long as they have shorts on (no bathing suite bottoms) they are okay. Unless we get complaints from other guests, we general don't ask the females to put on a shirt. Kids are different... they have to have their clothes on too, but it's at what age do we have to start enforcing it. Usually if they are not in a stroller, I ask the parents to make sure the kids are dressed.

Okay, so I was reading an article today about how a state wants to ban low-slug pants: "House Bill 1626, also known as the “Baggy Pants Bill†states: “It shall be unlawful for any person to appear in public wearing his pants below his waist and thereby exposing his skin or intimate clothing.â€" You can catch the link by clicking here. Should PKI be more strict with it's dress code? Ocassionally we do ask guests (and even some employees who should know better) to pull up there pants... but should we actually ban it? We require shoes, shirts and shorts in the park at all times, but how low should they (the pants/shorts) go? I personally don't like to see someone's butt hanging out, nor do I like to look at some guys underware all day long. IMO pants/shorts should be kept up around the waste and you need to wear a belt if they are too lose to stay up. Thoughts?

We have height resctrictions, but still... some taller people can't ride the rides that don't have them. I'm not going to argue this... you pay to get in or you don't get in. You know what's there before you go, you don't have to go.
-
BAFFDs are usually busy... very, very, busy. We had to put signs up on 71 that said something like "For your convience please visit the park another day." We also had to have the State Troopers, Mason and the Sherif help direct traffic as far down as 63 (way, way, down the from the park on 741). The parking was very, very bad... every parking spot was taken and all the grass areas were filled... people were parking at the cinemas and the gas station across the street and walking over. Lines can get to be about 4 hours long. No kidding. Most people only ride one or two rides all day.

Actually you can still see some of the old monkey houses and the old lion house behind SOB. The buildings are concrete, overgrown with weeds and aren't used for anything anymore. You can also see some of the fencing that used to be electrified around some of the outdoor cages too. It's pretty freaky at night!
