  1. The concert was great from what I could hear, I was backstage the entire time. It was a pretty cool night, from 3 in the afternoon till midnight I did nothing but stay with the band. I can't complain, I had an easy night. Nice guys too.
  2. adbort: The survies are given out at the park by a GR rep at the Front Gate and they have survies at some of the attractions as well. Fast Pass sucks... I hate dealing with people who have waited in line for 2 hours and b*tch at the ride ops or security or even GR because people got to cut in line. Besides, they would have to come up with a better way of doing it than having a GR person sitting at the Fast Pass entrance. That gets old, and I feel sorry for them, it's boring. The park might be looking into it because of furture expanisons and what they will bring. A new area of the park is rumored to be opening in the next 2 years, so who knows?
  3. Actually, all employees probably from the beginning of Paramount had to sign the contracts stating that they wouldn't devulge any information about the park even after termination, willful or otherwise. Of course, the information it is trying to keep "quiet" if you will are specifics about attendance, money spent on different things, dates for furture releases, any information about furture releases, radio signals and codes, all specific operation information, specifics about certain instances that have happened on park property, the list can go on and on... The forums are monitored and viewed by park officials, not just normal everyday sups and managers either, but some full time employees. The webmaster is obligated to turn over any information about a user that devulges information that should not be released.
  4. The park was expecting a huge turnout this weekend because of the concert. Keep in mind that Timberwolf can hold close to 10,000 people and that if the concert does come close to selling out, that the park will still be opended with they dump into it when the concert is over, adding that many more people into the park for the last two hours. I get to work all day long Saturday and then work the concert as well. Maybe I'll get a chance to escourt the band around to the rides, that would be cool! Hopefully I'll at least get to meet them backstage like I do for almost everyone else that preforms there.
  5. Wow... scalping tickets online is not a good idea and you should know better. Your not allowed to even give tickets away at the park, you have to turn them over to Admissions. The park doesn't give refunds for them either. You certainly can't sell any tickets on park property either, and we can actually arrest you for doing so. Mr. Aaron should close this and/or delete it and if you want to do stuff like that try to do it in a more private setting, like PMing or IMing people about it...
  6. Actually KC had a ton of rumors about why it was taken out... the funniest being that it was sinking into the earth and that it couldn't be saved. Of course that is totally false. However, the ride was suffering from metal fatigue and was going to have to go soon anyway. Unlike a woodie, a steel coaster has a life span and it has to go eventually. A woodie can be maintained and reparied far cheaper than a steel coaster.
  7. It was all about getting on MTV! Next time you see me on it, I'll be the next VJ!
  8. Well... I was there escourting them around the park so I can tell you anything you need to know. I'm surpised no one said they could see me! I'm in some of the shots (from what I understand b/c I still haven't seen it yet! ). Anyway, they didn't have to pay for anything, I even got free skyline for lunch that day! They did far more than just play basketball, which Drew and some of the other VIPs were actaully pretty good and made some shots. They rode almost every coaster in the park! From the little I actually got to talk with the, they were very nice. Jessica isn't anywhere near the dumb blond she is on tv... at least she wasn't in the park. I actually felt sorry for them b/c of all the attention they were getting. We had die hard fans following us all day long and we had people stop what they were doing to stare at them.
  9. Hmm... I might be able to explain rules in here without being b*tched at! Taking pictures on the ride is not allowed... but I don't have to go on with it b/c there are actually people in here that know the rules! Amazing! I'm dumbfounded! I'll talk about something related that hasn't been mentioned yet... if you want to try and get pictures on the ride, you would ask marketing (a.k.a. Mr. Siebert) and they would intern say yes or no. Odds are no, but in the unlikly event that they tell you yes, the would explain how and you would be escourted by one of them or security or a rides manager or all of the above while doing so. They might also rig it so that you can do it during a test run in the morning with no one else on. As of having video of the rides (while on them and operating) I would think that they would have things like that, but I doubt that they would give it out (or sell it) to the general public.
  10. You all forgot me! :censored:
  11. lol You forgot me on the list! I was there! I took your pictures!
  12. Well, like I said, not on purpose and even though the front gate would have been opened, all the lines would have been closed, so maybe no in all the meaning of the word, the park was closed.
  13. A ton of people are wanting to pay to get in again... most of them being Season Pass holders. Maybe we can look for them to change it back next year? The only problem with that is that Season Pass holders are usually the ones with tighter wallets and don't spend money in the park (usually, I know some of you spend a ton of money there) but in most cases the park gets most money from people already spending a small fortune to get in for the day. Like I mentioned in an early post, maybe the park can open up Friday Nights for just Season Pass holders and keep keep Saturday and Sunday the same as this year?
  14. Yeah... Rt. 666 wasn't opened at 3. It opened at 8pm with a line already an hour long waiting...
  15. The park has never (on purpose) been opened till two or three. The closing time at the latests has been midnight. The lines are so long that it forces the park to stay opened to get people through them. Usually they are really good about cutting the lines early if they are getting too long and it's close to closing. Yeah it upsets people, but at least the employees can get out earlier. I would agree to have it opened on Friday night from say six to midnight. Maybe keep Fridays for just season pass holders? It would lighten the load for Saturday. Of course if they were to do it on a Friday night, they would have to keep HB and Nick closed along with all the normal small rides that close during Fear Fest. Parents wouldn't like that too much and you just know someone wouldn't know about that till they drove three hours to come on a Friday night and they brought all there little kids with them to ride the Pumpkin Patch express. Then again... Friday night openings would be too much of a headach! Never mind...
  16. About DoT: do not bump! The riders are told not too and people don't realize that the cars actaully go pretty fast and that they can hurt people when they bump into them. They are not big bumper cars! We can (and have before) kicked people out of the park for being too ruff on DoT. Mostly because the guets couldn't get it through there thick heads not to bump other people. I was in the concert as well from about 3:30-4 till 9:30-ish Then I went back into the theme park. The concert was pretty cool... it was the first time I worked any Spirit Song concert without being called a nasty name. The crowd was really good, I didn't really have to fuss at anyone. I also regretted having to go back into the Theme Park b/c of the crowds. I much prefer the single digit thousands we had in Timberwolf compared to what we had in the park! I'm surpised you didn't try to go through any of the houses... considering that fact that three of the opened at three and you could have gone through at least one! The Les Taxis, or Antique Cars, were closed because they are a fearfest attraction and they opened at 8pm with the rest of the houses.
  17. There are a lot of places in the park where they store old pieces of track, old cars and other misc. things from the park (anyone remember the Kodak racing car? or the backdrop for the TR:TR opening that was in front of the foutain?). All of those places are totally off limits to the guests and no one is ever given permission to go back to those areas. Anyone caought in those areas would be charged with trespassing... In one of the posts someone mentioned the "old greenhouse"... we sill have our greenhouses and use them year round. If you go into the camp ground you can see them, from behind a fence of course. The cars for KC are stored in the drum of FoF, I've seen them there myself. Of course, I was able to go into the drum in the daylight, with all the lights on inside and through one of the garage doors, so it was very easy for me to see them. It was kinda like seeing a ghost. Oh, the ride would be much more scary with the lights on, there are MANY close calls on that ride!
  18. Actually I don't think that the park will do anything about treating the woods... I don't think that they can do that. Even if the park treated the property, there are still plenty of areas around the park that won't. Posions are not the answer for the fact that there are too many to deal with anyway. I would think that the biggest problem will come from the rides and having these big bugs flying around and being smacked in the face by them. Oh well... they don't bite at least!
  19. A few things... the usher at Rt. 666 scared me when I was working. Go figure, I should have seen it coming! Smoking in line is prohibited as long as they are not in a que house (such as Rt. 666) or in the house or path or ride or whatever the case may be. That is my understanding at least... then again, I only worked one fearfest shift this year and I didn't work any of them last year. Smoking is allowed in the Scooby line but they have to put them out before they get on the bridge, so I would assume the same for the houses. Some of the parents were laughing at the fact that we only recommend it for 12 years old an up... we really do need to make something very scary for the adults. BTW, yes, they are real... you know what I'm talking about! The Crypt, the tunnel you crawl through... yeah, they are very real! I have one suggestion... I think they need to put something up in the tower's 50 foot deck. Have strobes set up and things up there moving, like on a track, to make it look like people are dancing or being chanced by a mad man with an axe... have screams and stuff.... maybe even a "body" or two handing from the tower or something. Oh, I miss the tower lighting up all the way... didn't they have the entire tower lit last year in purple and green and black lights?
  20. I'm sure our First Aid staff would love to deliver a baby on park property... it's never happened before and I think they are after the little pink or blue stork pins they get after the delivery.
  21. Actually, any pictures taken "backstage" would have to be approved by marketing and would still have to be escourted. At least, that is what is supposed to happen. I have already gotten permission to take the pictures, I just need to get a Rides Manager or OD to walk with me... although I thought another officer would be able to do the same thing, but oh well. I don't mind having an escourt from Rides, they might have better ideas of what to take pictures of than I would. I would really like to get the the actual mechanics of the rides, so things like the lift hills and the coaster maintenance buildings and stuff. Some interesting angles that aren't really "public" of the coasters, like the Rose Bowel of the SOB would be nice as well. I would also be nice and approve the pictures by Marketing before I submitted any of them to PKIU. I would also give them copies of the pictures.
  22. I was going to try and take some backstage pictures and I would be glad to share them with Aaron. Jeff said it would be fine, but I do have to escorted just like anyone else by a rides Manager (any volunteers?) and if I take pictures of the coaster maintenance areas I would probably have to have marketing escort me for that. I'll ask Jeff about that one. It's a pretty neat operation, and I don't think the guests really know how much work goes on for the park's daily operation. Even in the off-season there is tons of stuff going on in the park. We never stop working for our guests! I would love to be park of a PKIU day at the park. Odds are I would end up working late for a late ride or early for an ERT. Go figure.
  23. The employees are supposed to "drop character" and help the guests out. The characters know where the emergancy (and other) exits are for the houses and should be able to quickly remove a guest for any reason. There are also ushers at the entrances and exits of all the houses to assits guests for such reason.
  24. I did last year, I didn't get of the park till Dec. 28th. I even worked on Christmas day! I'm really not sure if I will be there this winter or not. I might pick up a few shifts, but for me to switch jobs and do PKI during the winter, I would have to work midnight to 8am. I have school from 4-9pm Monday-Thursday, so that is the only shift that would work if I do work during the winter.
  25. Oh geezs... no doubt about it that SOB is the roughest coaster in the park. I would also have to agree that Top Gun or Vortex are the smoothiest, probably TG. Depends on when you ride, like Crazy31088 said.
