  1. You need to take full advantage of the parent swap if your kids don't like or can't ride the coaster that you do. Parent swap allows for a parent to wait in line and ride the ride while the other waits with the kids at the exit. When you get off the ride, the parents swap so the one that rode is watching the kids and the other can ride right away (without waiting in line). It's a really neat options and I belive you can actually "swap" 2 adults with no limit in the line, of course. You can get more information at the Front Gate Guest Relations window.
  2. 911, when dialed from any pay phone or land line in the park goes directly to our communication center (NOT first aid) where first aid, fire and security is dispatched. When the comm. center is down for the evening, the 911 calls are routed to the security office. The park does not pick up cell phone 911s. Those calls do go to the city of Mason and in that case Mason would contact our comm center via land line or radio.
  3. A*Teens was at PKI last year, they played the same time that Aaron Carter was there. If it wasn't A*Teens who opened for him last year, who did? I could have sworn at least... Anyway, why would a Christian group be opening for Aaron Carter? Sounds funny to me, buy oh well... I wonder if I'll get to walk them around the park that day as well, that would be cool I guess. I like doing the VIP Escourts.
  4. Actaully, the park is in Mason but techincally is Kings Island, Ohio with it's own zip code of 45034-0901. We do have our own post office btw, as well as our own water treatment plant. The taxes go to Mason and Kings School District.
  5. Well, that make sense. Last year he had A*Teens opening for him. I wonder if his brother is going to sing as well, he's supposed to be there. I won't "enjoy" the concert, I have to watch the crowds. I don't get much of a chance to listen to anything. Besides, I will have ear plugs in the entire time, I won't be able to hear much of anything except for my radio (hopefully).
  6. Hmm... just because you don't see a topic listed doesn't mean that it already hasn't been covered. People really need to pay attention to see if the forums have a topic in it already instead of reposting things. This topic was already discussed a while back, if you would have gone through the forums you might have seen it.
  7. Hmm... when is the concert? I hope it is sometime in September because the only thing left in August is Aaron Carter and Billy Idol, both of which I'm working. I haven't heard of any other concerts either, but hey, we are the last to know about somethings.
  8. Well, you are beautiful, I think that Charles needs to add a picture of you and him on his next book... btw, isn't that going to be "Haunted PKI" or something? Just Kidding about the book!
  9. The disclaimer on the auditor's site: "The map parcel lines shown are approximate and are intended to represent Warren County for the current tax year; however, information on specific parcels may not be current. This information cannot be construed or used as a 'legal Description ' of a parcel." They could be wrong... the maps aren't working now so I can't check that out for you.
  10. Your wife is very nice, and you are very lucky to be able to come home to her every day as she is to come home to you. Looking never harmed anyone anyway. Buy mirriored sunglasses so she can't tell where your looking.
  11. Thanks for the compliment... I guess I'm so used to seeing people enjoying both parks that it would hard to see a guest coming over just for the water park and not be tempted at all to go into the theme park. Then again, the Beach does it all the time...
  12. Well... the park could charge say 25 bucks to get into just the Water Park and have the Train Station be another "main gate" type with an admissions area to keep people out of the theme park and to check people coming into the water park. It's a good idea, but I'm not sure if people will do it... I mean, it's cheaper to buy a season pass and come to the park and unless the changes are great (which they should be) then no one will come just to do the water park.
  13. Amen Brother Tanner! One of the main perks of water parks is seeing women in skimpy bathing suits. Everytime I go to WaterWorks or The Beach Water Park I enjoy looking at the ladies in sexy bathing suits more than I do riding the water slides. Now, now Charles, you are married!!!!
  14. Okay, I will correct myself. According to Warren County's Auditor's office, the park officially owns 630.2746 acres. You can click on the linke to see the property line outlined in yellow. http://home.cinci.rr.com/thegopreport/pkip...ropertyline.jpg Click on the link below to see a close up of the park. http://home.cinci.rr.com/thegopreport/pki1.jpg
  15. Actually the park owns somewhere around 796 acres, of which only 360 has been used. Italianchef would know for a fact, but we can double the size of the park easily.
  16. The park has no interst in the Beach's market share. There was a recent story about that in which Jeff mentioned that the park is in no way trying to compete with the Beach because we don't have too. More people come to the park for the coasters and the other rides/attractions in the theme park because we are forever and foremost a Theme Park, not a Water Park.
  17. I think we are jinxed. A whole bunch of rides did go down today, which really sucks. I feel sorry for GR, they probably had a ton of complaints, but people never read the small print, which states that the park does not guarantee that any rides will be operating that day. Sorry, no refunds. If you paid attention, all the rides were opened, and if they did shut down, were reopened sometime during the day
  18. I have no idea... anyone happen to find old news paper articles about the cost of the SoB? I'm sure that (some) new rides can costs in the millions, but you have to understand that could just be building costs. There is a lot that goes into making a new attraction, from designing to building and testing, marketing and the operating costs of the attraction. I'm sure they have a budget, but I doubt that it is fixed for every year.
  19. I have never heard of anything like that happening, and I'm sure I would have. Like I said, IF it did happen, they do take those situtations very seriously and some form of punishment should have taken place.
  20. Actually I'm not at all scared about being sued. As long as I'm doing my job the right way, I'm not at all scared about the threat of being sued. It's just common sense not to touch a guest. I would be the first one to get ****ed off if someone grabbed my arm and pulled me out of line. I would also be the first one to file complaints about it as well. There is no need for an officer to pull someone out of line like that, which is why it's so hard for me to belive that it actually happened...
  21. Okay, sorry for the confusion, but you can be charged with trespassing. We would probably just kick you out the park, but it depends on what you were doing behind a rope. The big reason for the ropes is that we keep people out of the theme park while the deliveries are going on and while morning maintenance is being finished on the coasters and other rides. The risks are too high to have guests wondering around the park with semi trucks, forklifts, trucks and other things are in the park. If you are ever next to an officer about 10 minutes before the ropes are dropped, you will hear a tone that goes out to all the radios that asks for the park to be cleared of all vehicles. If there is still something in the park, we delay the ropes or we escort the vehicle out of the park. The one thing we really hate is for employees who have no buisness to be behind the ropes that go back there anyway. Some employees think they are smart and get by security just so they can be first in line for a ride. Big mistake... It's also a big mistake for employees to think they can ride early rides when we have Gold Pass Early Rides. Those employees are usually fired. An employee off the clock is just like a normal guests. That's why we are so strict about being in full uniform and (normally) check IDs while you cross the ropes. That's why we are such a pain when you say you have to go to a locker or have a meeting something. We don't want you behind a rope if you aren't supposed to be.
  22. Depends... Theme Park security is just there during the operating hours of the park, usually just from April till November. It sounds like a lot, but you have to remember that we are only opened weekends for a big part of that. Perimeter security is at the park 365 days a year 24 hours a day. Those positions are only for 10months. It's required to take 2 months off unless you happen to fall into the new year in which case you don't have to because the hours reset.
  23. They do play "Forest Gump" at Bubba Gumps. I'm pretty sure it's the entire movie as well... not on all the screens though, just two or three.
  24. During training the new officers watch the new cast of that day, and we are told the story of the Officer who died. It's pretty sad, and I hope it never happens again!
  25. New officers go through a lot of training which mostly consists of watching a lot of training videos and completing tests. Officers also have to be certified in CPR and first aid by the American Red Cross or similar organization. The new officers are also put through simulations put on by returners and we have a group activities and sometimes one-on-one activities that put the new officers in positions that the returners have been in before. Before they are allowed in the park by themselves, they usually go through three or more days of field training where they are shadowed by a returner or Lead Officer.
