I renewed my family's passes for 2018 and saw a new add on. For $500 per pass you can add unlimited FastLane. We wouldn't use it enough to make it worthwhile, but I bet this will be a great deal for some enthusiasts. Anyone thinking about adding this to their passes?

We went Saturday and like most everyone else WinterFest exceeded our expectations. There was a lot to see and do. I think they could have done a better job communicating what everything was. We mostly just wandered around taking everything in. But the park looked so amazing, I didn't care that it was packed. I did a full write-up of our experience at my blog if anyone wants to check it out.

I haven't seen any mention of enticements to renew. The last two years have included preview nights and free FL for one Sunday in the Fall. Are those not being offered this year?

Camping out at Starbucks would be my preference. It would certainly be a lot easier for me. I just worry about being that far from the kids. So I will probably have to sweat it out. We're going after work, so spending $18 on a locker for a few hours is out and I'm guessing umbrellas will be taken by then.

Hey gang, I'm probably taking the kids to Soak City tonight. My plan is to camp out at one location and let them have fun. Is there a good spot to charge your phone like Starbucks at the dry park? Thanks for any suggestions.

I got an e-mail from KI that due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the park's control, this Sunday's Marvel event has been cancelled. We had breakfast reservations which I was looking forward to which is why we got the e-mail. It's a shame, but at least they notified us and offered a refund. Not much more they can do.

Wow- doesn't sound nearly as crowded as it was last year. Then again, last year was Big New Coaster year. Still sucks to hear food service is slow. I'm guessing opening day was helped by the fact a lot of passholders had their opening day on Friday.

It's been a while since I have covered Kings Island extensively at my blog. But this year, I intend to write about Kings Island more regularly. I'm going to post links to new articles in this thread as they appear on the site in case anyone is interested in following along. The first article of the season covers our experiences on Passholder Preview Night. Thanks for reading!

The title says it all. When I was a kid, there was no such thing. I was wondering when they came about. Thanks!

You Heard It Here First: Cirque Imagine 2015 Preview

At least you were able to print the confirm sheets. I was not. -
Did you see the super hero breakfast that morning? $15 isn't bad for 5 meet and greets and a meal with no lines.

WCPO: Woman asked to upgrade son's Jr Season Pass mid season
lebeau replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
They went a little crazy last season. I had to upgrade my oldest daughter's pass which wasn't a big deal. It didn't cost my anything because I had renewed it when there was no price difference between adult and child passes. It was a mild inconvenience. But then I got stopped for the youngest repeatedly. The youngest wasn't even three feet tall and was in a stroller most of the time. They would make her stand up and be measured despite the fact she was very obviously nowhere near the height or age limit. I hope they show a little more restraint this season. The youngest still has a ways to go before she approaches an adult pass. -
Changes to 2015 dining plans (Update: not happening)

While I see it listed as an option, I don't see any meals available there. -
KI preview night, 4/17 (only for passholders who renewed by 11/6)

I plan to attend. The question is whether I will fly solo or bring the wife and kids. -

I actually have inside info this time. My sister married into the Entertrainment Junction family so I found out at Christmas. We all laughed because the idea sounded silly to us. But apparently, it's a real thing. -
I like all the water rides at KI. But I'll only ride WWC if I don't mind being drenched that day.

Still nasty in 2014. But a good way to cool off on a hot day. And there is never a line.

Enquirer: More than thrill rides bloom at Kings Island
lebeau replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
That used to be true. I wouldn't say it is any more. -
I don't think so!Aaahahahahaha! (Does anyone else get excited when Terpy's hints/cryptic posts actually make sense?) Maybe it's the Disney fan in me but I got an Enchanted Tiki Room vibe off that hint. Now I need a Dole Whip.

Oh wow. Those are terrific pictures! Those were my two favorite attractions as a kid.

I remember being very disappointed when the Smurfs invaded.

WCPO: Woman asked to upgrade son's Jr Season Pass mid season

We're upset because the policy is a bad one. Not because KI is enforcing it. This is a bad policy from a business and customer service perspective. If your policy ends up with you getting bad press like this and maybe nets you a few hundred bucks a year, it's time to reconsider your policy. 1. Just because someone doesn't like it doest make it bad. 2. What if I'm not an honest person and purchase a Jr pass in the fall or early spring for my kid who is 50 inches. By the time we go to the park I say oh he grew. 3. Many things in life are not fair. The kid grew and is able to enjoy more than what was originally planned. 4. We don't know all the facts we have 1 person's account which is actually different than about 4 other people on this website who had similar issues that were dealt with better than this. What if I buy my son a Kings Island JR ticket in December for a planned trip in June. Should he be able to use it no matter how tall he gets as long as he was below 48 when I bought it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1. What makes it bad is that it creates situations exactly like this one and engenders ill will towards the company. KI might make a few bucks off this policy. But it's not worth the bad press they are getting. That's a bad policy. 2. They would upgrade on the first visit. Not at the end of the season. 3. This has nothing to do with fair or unfair. As a business decision, this policy is bad for KI. 4. We know what the policy is. We know how it is being enforced. And we know it bit KI in the rear very publicly. What more do we need to know? The problem with that is that until you are tall enough to ride the majority of rides in the park, it's not worth paying the adult price. -

WCPO: Woman asked to upgrade son's Jr Season Pass mid season

I don't believe there is a "junior" Gold Pass. I believe a Gold Pass is the same for everyone no matter the age. We typically buy ours in the fall of the season prior, at the lowest prices available. Bottom line, KI has a bit of a confusing policy on this matter, and a little flexibility could have gone a long way in making this customer happy. On the other side, the mother is expecting something for nothing and failing to take accountability for reading the fine print when she bought the season pass. Both sides are to blame, there really are no winners. There is a JR gold pass. But they are the same price depending on when you buy them. -

Of late, Kings Island has done a better job with customer service than Disney. So this customer service fail is right about in line with what I have come to expect from the Mouse these days. Hopefully KI can set things right.
