Those are the kinds of Vekomas I was talking about. I admit Vekoma has made a couple good rides, but the horrors experienced of one any of those SLC's is just simply irreconcilable. I should've made myself more clear.
-
Let's just be glad no one on here far as we know has Vekoma-itis... Now they'd really be making a blind argument!

^^

^^At least they'd be more convincing than a majority of the scareactors there.

Or Invertigo. Bleh.

Sure, technically it's not neccessarily who built it that makes a ride great but most of the time it IS the manufacturer that defines the ride. A ride built by Vekoma will most likely deliver an uncomfortable, unenjoyable ride experience. A B&M will most likely be low-maintenance, reliable, and comfortable. An Intamin will most likely be the most intense and fun out of any of them, but will have lots of downtime. An Arrow most likely will have awkward transitions, and a Premier will be...well...a Premier. This is why I care about which manufacturer builds a certain ride.
-
Arguing about manufacturers is much like arguing politics. Most likely, nothing you say will change the other side's opinion/viewpoint on the matter at hand. But yet, the thrill of arguing and getting your "digs" in make it impossible to step away.

I have an idea. Let's take all the Intamin vs. B&M discussion, and push it over here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27897-intamin-or-b-m/ Honestly, as much I love a good, heated argument about manufactural preference, I think we really should try to be more responsible in where and when to argue about it. EDIT: This thread is also appropriate!

Instead of boring you with words, I thought it would be a much more effective way of thanking you all by presenting KIC with a gift. These are some of my best photo creations I ever at took at Kings Island. Enjoy... Link for mobile users: http://s827.photobucket.com/user/DANNY7424/slideshow/Kings%20Island%20photo%20compilation

If Six Flags owned all Cedar Fair Parks?
BeastForever replied to Diamondbacker27's topic in Kings Island
Many like to criticize Six Flags for what they used to be and not what they are today. For those it's a shame, as they are missing out on the some of the best thrill rides and parks in the world. -

Yule shoot yer eye out! -
Don stated at the Q&A session that KI is lacking in flats, but will have a "pretty complete coaster lineup" next year when Banshee opens. So I'd guess in 2016 or 2017 KI will get a new flat, while in 2015 there will just be some minor park improvements here and there. I'm guessing the next coaster will be in 2019.

Yeah I know what you mean. That's one of the things that would annoy me if SIX owned the park. When I rode El Toro 2 summers ago it was quite unsettling going on a ride themed as a bull, yet stepping into a train covered in gum advertisements. But since it was without a doubt the best roller coater I've ever ridden, I think I can get over it. -

If this were the old Six Flags, then I would agree with you. But I just don't think if Six Flags were to own Kings Island today, we would see a significant decline in the overall park. In some ways, I would prefer SIX over FUN right now, but in other ways I wouldn't. -
What would you think if kings island was not owned by Cedar Fair.
BeastForever replied to CP&LERR Fan's topic in Kings Island
^^Named Goliath, Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern. But hey, a coaster is a coaster. -

If Paramount still owned the park, then maybe Son of Beast and Tomb Raider would still be here? -
Flight Deck isn't going anywhere for quite a while. I can assure you. It's an underappreciated ride that's fun, smooth, reliable, gets decent capacity, and has a good "in-between" thrill factor that anyone can enjoy. I expect a major spike in its ridership next year when Banshee opens. For many people, they'll be discovering it's even back there for the first time!

Best Ride Crews 2013
BeastForever replied to Ride On_17's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Ugh, don't remind me. A full-station wait for Voyage when I was there took a half an hour, I kid you not. Unacceptable. All 3 coasters had single-train operation that day. I don't think I'm going to risk another trip next year to Holiday World. Also, apparently Voyage isn't getting Timberliners any time soon... -
If we were ever to get a giga I think you'd need Intamin in order to do it right.

Double post.

Look... I'm sorry I helped open this can of worms. Let's just stop all the arguing and return to the OP's intention of this thread.

Holiday World: Efficient, friendly, safe, and best of all no spiels. -
Well of course you found it fun, but would you spend $40-$55 EVERY time you go to Kings Island?
-
I remember those glorious days before Fast Lane. Both at Cedar Point and Kings Island every line moved much, much faster. But yes, I know, Cedar Fair put it in to make money. I acknowledge that. They're a company and that's their job. But you can't say it doesn't suck...

Not until they experience the awesomeness of it.
