Well then I guess our Flight of Fear really does need new wheels.

I've never been on The Roller Coaster before, but I must say by what I'm hearing from it's reviews it sounds like they should just let the ride be free, but charge for taking pictures of it. I guarantee you'd make more money.

I don't think the reason for all the shuffling on Flight of Fear is neccessarily because of the wheels. I think It's because of the design of the ride in general. All the Spaghetti bowl models have lots of shuffling, and if I'm not mistaken, they've been that way since the days they opened. It's because the bulky trains fly through tight inversions and transitions at too quick a speed so they don't articulate well with the curves of the track. Now I'm not saying wheel replacements wouldn't help, they probably would, I'm just saying that I think the shuffling has more to do with the ride overall rather than just the wheels. But Flight of Fear's still a great ride, even though it can whip you around a bit. I'm just glad I never had to experience the old OTSR's, I've heard those were pretty brutal. And no, I'm not an engineer, but I hope to be one some day...

I don't think it's the wheels that are the problem.

To me Kinzel's leave was kind of bitter-sweet. It's bitter that we don't get coasters as often anymore yet sweet that Cedar Point no longer has his daddy in charge to give him whatever he wants.

The more I think of it, and the more I observe the rendering and construction photos, the more I realize how MASSIVE this coaster is going to be!

Ok well... I wouldn't go THAT far in describing Diamondback's shuffling, but I do think it is something that should be taken care of. Especially around the trim brake area. Bleh. Horrid jackhammering if you're sitting near the back. While as for Gatekeeper... YES, THE SHUFFLING IS BAD!

^I guess. Why else would it be that these newer B&M's like DB and GK are shuffling so much already while others like Nitro and Bizarro have been running smooth for 10-15 years?

Gatekeeper's shuffling (in its bad seats) are definitely something to be concerned about. Getting your brain mashed like that certainly doesn't promote "the Best Day Ever" experience.

If I'm not mistaken, there's something quite similar to this idea in RCT3. On the Hypercoaster model you can add what's called a "figure-8 loop", yet I'm not sure it goes upside down. If anyone happens to be playing RCT3 right now you should look it up.

Over the 3 times I've ridden it I think I've been riding in the middle to back. If I had to guess, twice in row 5, and once in row 6. Even though I haven't been riding near the front, I still think it shouldn't be that rough in ANY seat.

I've noticed the same thing. I was convinced the other day by their website that they would indeed have ERT for Gold and Platinum holders, but when I got there right at 6:00 last Friday they had just been opening the huge garage door that covers the entrance, so I assume they aren't doing ERT on Fridays.

I'm appointing Werner Stengel as head coach of the Intamin team. Our offensive line will consist of Bizarro (QB), Millenium Force, Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, Kingda Ka, El Toro, Intimidator 305, Skyrush, Storm Runner, Expedition Geforce, and Formula Rossa (RB).

I've found that seat 1-2 on Diamondback is a lot funner that 1-1.

Have you ever ridden an Intamin? Diamondback does not deliver ejector air in any way compared to other non-B&M coasters. You haven't experienced TRUE ejector air unless you've ridden an Intamin, Arrow, Morgan, etc. (And yes, I'm sure YoungStud has ridden Diamondback before.)
