Yes. Adding a new Coaster further expands their list of Rides. During a back stage tour of The Beast last year Don mentioned that while the park has lots of spare land, they do not want the park to be TOO BIG.

Looking at Google Earth it appears that getting into the parking lot near where Chang stood would be no problem. Oh well, it was HOT out and I wanted to get back home.

It was so tempting to walk inside, lol. Thankfully I know better.

Took a walk around the front section of the park this afternoon. The inside looks just like an abandoned Amusement Park with some areas of cut grass. The park was dead quiet with only some hammering being heard inside of a building marked "Security" on the outside of the park. Evey know and then a Dump truck would exit a parking lot on the back (where Chang was) side of the park. That may or may not have been associated with the park itself and I did not drive back there to look. From what I could see of Thunder Run there is no work being done to it. The same could be said about everything else inside the fence. I did not see any markers of any kind in any area I could see. Dumpsters were full of stuff though so some cleanup has been performed. There was an orange ribbon tied to a piece of rebar sticking out of the ground. that is just so whomever is mowing can avoid it. I grabbed some pics but they don't show much.

Am looking forward to visiting Dollywood next week. Have heard nothing but good things about the park.

Oddly enough, I still hear lots of people trying to figure out where the entrance to SOB is.

Guess I need to go get some Bdubs tomorrow for Lunch. Gives me an excuse to take a walk around the fairgrounds and look for this mystery construction that NO ONE knows about. Note: I do not expect to see ANY construction but some people have asked for pics and FanBoy refuses to provide any. I'm off tomorrow and the family is in D.C. so why not.

No inconvenience at all because even if KK was to reopen, I would still choose to take the 2.5 hour trip to KI. Of course the wife and I are currently looking into making the drive a lot shorter.

My nearly 20 year old Station Wagon gets around 20 real world mpg. Of course I am fine with that because the car is paid for and gas costs me less than a new car payment plus gas.

Soak City was DEAD yesterday. While the sun was shining it wasn't really too bad there. Sadly it clouded up and I didn't try any of the slides but took a couple laps in the river with the kiddos. The workers were just standing around with nothing to do.

As far as Mr hart and company starting a new park from the ground up. Something tells me that building a brand new park is anything but cheap or easy. Out of all the parks currently in operation how old is the newest one? Hard Rock Park anyone?

I am so looking forward to our first ever visit to this wonderful park next month.
