  1. OK, now that a few people have posted and voted, I'll state and explain my vote. My vote was for the center slide on Bondi Pipeline. When you first go into the vertical drop, you freefall without touching anything for a fraction of a second, and that gives me one of those "OH CRAP!" moments. Other than that, nothing at KI still scares me.
  2. OK, here's another poll. According to the search function, this basic idea has been done twice before. However, the first time was several years ago before Diamondback and WindSeeker, and it only listed a limited selection of rides in the dry park. The second one was just a discussion with no actual vote, and it too predated Diamondback and WindSeeker. Therefore, I decided to do a new one. All rides are listed in alphabetical order; there's also two options for rides not listed and an option for those people who are totally fearless. Have fun (that is, if you can overcome your fears)!
  3. For some reason, WindSeeker doesn't really interest me as far as thrills. I'll probably ride it several times over the summer for the view, but I'm not waiting in the massive line that's sure to form on the morning of April 30. What I will do that morning is try to get first train on Vortex during ERT, then pick a coaster that I can quickly access from the portion of the park open for ERT and try for first train on that when the ropes drop. I'd like Firehawk for that second "first train", but I'll take anything that doesn't seem to have a lot of people standing at the barrier ready to head to it. Question for those that have been to KI on opening day before: Based on past opening day experiences, does the park usually set up lines for ERT rides that morning outside the gate and then escort them back, or is it just a mad scramble when the gates open? And if it's the former, how early should I plan on arriving to be on the first train? Unrelated side note (but related to the posts above): I've heard several people say that once you get on it, Firehawk actually isn't as scary as it first looks. My experience with it, being that it was my first inverting coaster, never mind my first (and still only) flying one, tends to support that.
  4. That's a good way to get your car stolen. I used a waist pack last season, but I may look into cargo shorts this year.
  5. Everything up to this point has been noted. I've got a Word document set up to act as a notebook for this kind of stuff. I think all of my questions have been answered for now, though I may have more as June gets closer (and as I determine whether I'll actually have the money to afford the trip, which isn't 100% certain yet).

    The ERT Poll

Diamondback for it's re-rideability (is that a word?) and Firehawk, Flight of Fear, and Drop Tower because I love them all but can't stand the long lines.
  7. Does that recommendation take into account Challenge Park and Soak City as well? As stated in post #12 above, I'm interested in those areas as well. It seems to me that I would need 3 or 4 days to cover those areas as well. I haven't decided yet whether I'll stay on site or not yet. I'll look into both. Raptor in the front seat; got it. Any other seat recommendations on other coasters (besides front seat on TTD)? Noted. Not a big fan of fish except for the occasional meal at Long John Silver's, but I'll try to remember that. Noted also. Thanks for the tips, everyone! Keep 'em coming!
  8. I really don't want to swim in wastewater—oh, you mean WAIST-high water! (I always find it amazing how a minor spelling error can completely change the meaning of something.) Thanks. And I'm not concerned about the separate admission charge; as I said, I would have a Platinum Pass if I do go up there. I'm actually thinking about mid- to late June.
  9. OK, I've gone through the threads linked above and tried the search function (though I know from experience that I fail at searching forever ), and I'm left with a couple of unanswered questions. 1. How deep is the water on the water slides and other attractions in Soak City? Cedar Point's website doesn't list water depth like KI's website does. I enjoy waterparks, but I don't trust my very limited swimming skills enough to go out in water over five feet deep without a life jacket. (And don't tell me to take swimming lessons; I've done that before with little success.) 2. I've seen a lot of discussion saying that you should go for two days in order to get all of the rides in the main park in without being rushed. However, I'm interested in experiencing everything in Challenge Park and Soak City (excluding any attractions where the water is over 5' deep and where I can't wear a lifejacket) as well, plus I may rent a jet ski for a little bit if I can come up with the money to do so. How many days should I allow for all of this? If I do go up to CP (which isn't finalized yet), I will upgrade my KI Gold Pass to Platinum, so I can take advantage of ERTs and not worry about admission costs. The plan would be to leave the Dayton area on the morning of Day 1 and arrive at CP early afternoon, then on the last day, I would leave CP early- to mid-afternoon so I could return home by early evening that day (essentially, the first and last days would only be half days) I'm thinking three or four days should be enough, but I'd like outside input on it as well. Thanks in advance.
  10. I posted that question on KI's Facebook wall. Now I'll have to wait and see if I get a response...
  11. Here's a crazy idea: maybe it's a much better go-kart track to replace the piece of crap they call "King's [sic] Island Motor Speedway" (i.e. Thunder Alley).
  12. As soon as I saw that post, it reminded me of this: There's sure to be many conversations along those lines about this ride.
  13. Which of those days is usually the least busy, or are they all roughly the same?

  16. i believe there are still some in the que for beast. they are only on during haunt to my knowledge. i dont think they even play sound anymore. Last year, when I would get in line for The Beast, I usually, but not always, saw one of the two TVs in the station on ESPN, but (IIRC) without audio. The other TV was always off, and sometimes they were both off.
