http://www.groupon.com/deals/the-beach-waterpark-2 Found this in my inbox this morning. 2011 General Season Pass to The Beach Waterpark, an $85 value, for just $42. Deal expires at 11:59:59 PM Friday night. I'm sure there's someone here who may be interested. I may buy one for myself Friday when I get paid. EDIT: Does anybody know how deep the water is on the various attractions? As I've said before on these boards, my swimming skills are limited at best, so I need to know the water depth before I can make my decision; obviously there's no point in getting a season pass if most of the attractions have water over my head and don't allow life jackets (which I know aren't allowed at least on body flumes).

I always hit 'print screen' ("PRTSC") then paste the image onto Microsoft Word. I then crop out the edges around the image and then save it. Then you post it here like you would any othe rpic from your computer The easier way is to simply right-click on the webcam image and select "Save Picture As..." (IE), "Save Image As..." (Firefox), or something similar depending on what browser you use. Then just give it a file name, hit "Save", and voilĂ , you have a still image.

A little off topic, but I noticed something interesting here: From the bottom of the page: From the top right corner of the page (emphasis mine): The transactions reported on the form occurred this month (March 2011), which is after the OMB number's expiration date. He technically didn't have to fill out the form.

That's a cool video. The process actually took longer than I would expect; I thought putting a train on the track would only take 1–2 minutes, not the 5ish that it took in the video. Thanks for posting it!

I don't see what his complaint would be... It's not an upcharge for a ride, which is all he seems to care about. Unless he just wants to complain about anything and everything, including the attractions he does not care to visit. RaptorGuy has filed his complaint in the poll thread: http://www.KICentral...32 At least it can be argued that it actually belongs there, since the idea of a poll is to gather opinions. Back on topic, I'm not overly thrilled about the upcharge, but I will certainly pay it at least once to experience the attraction. Whether I pay for it again on future visits depends on whether I enjoy it the first time.

Yes. Somebody knows. jcgoble3, temporarily filling in for Terpy

The videos were ordered 1-3-2 from left to right on the teaser page. They're now ordered 1-2-3. Why anybody thinks that's a clue is beyond me.

Windseeker & Coney Mall Construction Continues

From KI's Facebook page: Also, in the comments: -
I'll be happy with whatever it is we end up getting. One week ago (OK, well, nine days ago) we had no clue that something else was planned, so I'm just glad they're doing something else in addition to WindSeeker. That being said, I reserve the right to hope that it's some sort of roller coaster that has secretly been under construction since November or an announcement of SoB's reopening. I know that all the evidence says that it's not, but hey, I can dream, right?

I can't speak for the other two, but KI was practically dead when I visited it on a weekday last May. Many rides were walk-ons. Be aware, though, that there will likely be places that aren't open due to the fact that all of the high school student employees are in school; that day, the I-Street Skyline was closed, along with several other places. The only ride that was closed, though, was Thunder Alley as far as I could see. About half of the people in the park were school groups, but they were mostly well-behaved (I'm guessing because school KI trips are likely good behavior reward trips). Avoid Math & Science days, though (or so I've been told; I've never actually been there on an M&S day).

Personal Belongings On Roller Coasters at KI
jcgoble3 replied to KILateNighter's topic in Kings Island
OK, so I checked several stores today with no luck. Target and TJ Maxx both had nothing with zippers. I checked Kohls also; I couldn't find the shorts linked above on the rack, and they didn't have hardly any shorts in any style available in my size (30) anyway. As I said yesterday, I struck out at Walmart and Kmart as well. Any other ideas within a reasonable distance of Xenia, or will I just have to go with the waist pack again? -

Thanks, but I'm sticking to the one credit card I have now. I'd rather pay a little more now to avoid the chance of losing track of multiple cards and getting buried under a pile of debt like my parents did. If there's one piece of good advice they gave me, it was "don't get more than one credit card." More cards = more perceived freedom to spend (OK, that balance is high, but this one's low, so I'll charge it to this one), and being a spender, that's the last thing I need; it's difficult enough for me to control my spending with one card in my wallet without adding a second one. -

I might try Target, but any savings might be offset by the cost of gas to get there, as the nearest Target to me is almost in the next county. Thanks for the tip, though. -

GAH! I can't believe I missed that. Thanks Terpy. (Though I don't have, and will never have, a Kohl's charge card; one credit card is more than enough for me.) I'll go see if I can find them in my local store tomorrow, then. Thanks. -

Thanks, but I'm on a tight budget, and the $40 price tag on those is a little out of my price range. I was hoping to get something for less than $20 or $25. -
First, it's "peek", not "peak". (Sorry, but that's one of my pet peeves.) Second, what Shaggy got a peek at was (I'm assuming) just the teaser banner that everybody can now see on the front page of the site (which was apparently mistakenly put up early and then quickly taken down).

In the video, he says "world's largest" something twice. I wonder what that's referring to?

Any suggestions on where to look for cargo shorts with zippered pockets? I checked my local Walmart and Kmart today, and all they have is ones with small squares of velcro that don't cover the whole width of the pocket. I'd like to stay as inexpensive as possible. Sewing zippers onto a pair of shorts myself is not an option; I don't have any sewing equipment or a clue as to how to use it, and I don't know anybody that can do it for me. -

I would have loved to have had a chance to ride those slides. Does anybody know how tall the third one from the left is? (I can hear Terpy now: "Yes.")

My plans... let's see here. KI trips about every two weeks like last year, for starters. I'm in the early stages of planning a four- to five-day trip to Cedar Point in mid- to late June, which would be my first time there. Depending on my budget, I might make my first trip to Holiday World; that could be in July or August, or if I can come up with it, I might fork over the money for a coaster club membership and hit Holiwood Nights instead. I may also hit Stricker's Grove on one of their fall dates. That's about it, I think.
