  1. I'm also looking forward to KI's opening day. It's also my b-day.
  2. I got stuck at the top during it's first year of operation (1999). This lady sitting next to me was freaky. What didn't help was the ops kept getting on the intercom saying they were experiencing technical difficulties and to enjoy the view on top of the worlds tallest gyro drop. We never did get to drop, they had to manually pull us down, which took forever. They did give us exit passes though to use later or on any ride of our choice. Who would have thunk that few weeks later I joined the rides department at Kings Island.
  3. Weird that I never saw that either.
  4. I could never get bored of Kings Island. I like to ride my favs over and over again. I don't think any new rides are coming in 2008, but 2009 will probably be a big year.
  5. Chain-Wide Consistency? Does this mean KBF's will be included with a Season Pass as well?

  7. I'm sure they will keeping the 50's theme to Juke Box Diner?
  8. Check out the poll they have on there, it seems a lot of people are unhappy with the new names. Also it confirms 2 other name changes. Happy Days Diner to Jukebox Diner, and Paramount Theatre, to Kings Island Theatre.

    Racer

1981. One side was turned around in 1982. The Racer was the first wooden coaster to go backwards.

    Racer

And if that's the case, why call it The Racer?

    Racer

If they both do go forwards I hope they race them. I hope they don't pull some silly trick, and only run one side per day. That would suck.

    Racer

The Racer The twin-tracked Racer is a traditional wooden out-and-back coaster and credited for re-igniting the coaster building boom in the early 1970’s, thus beginning the second golden age of the roller coaster. To honor The Racer’s staying power, the American Coaster Enthusiasts named this popular ride an “ACE Roller Coaster Landmark” during a ceremony at the park last year, making it one of only 14 coasters in the world with landmark status. In addition, The Racer is also notable for its appearance in the Cincinnati Kids episode of The Brady Bunch, filmed at the park in 1973. HEIGHT REQUIREMENT: 48" MIN The description of Racer has been changed at visitkingsisland.com. It looks to be it actually be true, that Backwards Racer is no more.

I also prefer The Backwards to The Forwards, I hope this is just a nasty rumor, but only time will tell.
  14. Nothing has been released yet, but I'm sure something will as we get closer and closer to opening day. Glad I bought my 2008 pass in October and don't have to worry about processing it this year.
  15. Yep, and the King Cobra at KD wasn't even spelled the same, it was King Kobra.
  16. Kings Island used the "Let Yourself Go" slogan in 1992.
  17. And I was hoping it was a mistake period that they changed the name to Drop Tower when I saw this topic.
  18. Closed for the season also means it's not open yet. Boomerang Bay is open May 24 – August 17 from 11am to 7pm; August 18 – 22 from Noon to 6pm, and August 30 – September 1 from 11am to 7pm.
  19. And it would just be silly to change the name anyway. Most people just refer to it as train.
  20. LOL all I got to say that little rumor better not be true.
  21. They could have changed it but I guess we'll officially know when the 2008 park map comes out. Besides that the top of the trains will probably still say KI&MVRR.
