Obesity Epidemic Leads To Bigger Rides
PKIVortex replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
That's always nice when an associate will go out of his or her way, to help make someones day. -
Yes, if you don't pick them up before November 11th, you can pick them up next spring. But if you are going to try and pick one up this year, make sure you call the park before leaving.

No problem, sorry for the all caps, I just copied and pasted from pki.com.

That connection is going to be great for DW, it was very annoying to be in Timber Canyon and have to walk all the way out and around to get to Tennessee Tornado. It will be much better that the park will be a compete loop like most parks are.

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE TEMPORARILY OUT OF SEASON PASS VIP JACKETS. ANOTHER SHIPMENT IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE EARLY THIS WEEK. PLEASE CALL 1-800-952-PASS FOR UPDATES BEFORE HEADING TO THE PARK TO PICK UP YOUR JACKET. EVERYONE THAT PURCHASES A 2008 PASS BEFORE 11/11/08 WILL STILL RECEIVE A FREE VIP JACKET. Quoted directly off pki.com. This is becoming much more of a hassel. I was going to head up tomorrow, but I guess I better call before doing so.

Vortex at Canada's Wonderland is basically the same ride. The track layout is the same, but Vortex at Wonderland has a very long line when I went back in 2003. of course the lift and drop structure is built off of Wonder Mountain, and they are parts of the ride that is over a lake, you also walk under the first drop. So that could be reason enough. I enjoy Top Gun though, it just needs some TLC.

Official Poll: After One Season, do you prefer new SOB or old?
PKIVortex replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
The new trains are alright, at least you aren't jammed in your seat. But I miss the loop. -
Well when it's 90 degrees plus out, who doesn't mind walking around in wet clothes?

Do you prefer the Forward Racer or Backwards Racer?
PKIVortex replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
Backwards to me. I've always felt Backwards has ran much better then the Forwards side. -
No, you can get it processed next year, and pickup your jacket in the spring. November 11th is just the deadline for free jackets, and probably the price will go up. I was trying to pick up my jacked on the 31st, but they said they didn't have any, but was excepting there big shipment by the 5th. They did say they were having some brought in around 8:30 on the 31st, but I didn't feel like messing with it. I'm going up on the 6th to get mine.
-
Yes but no one has been injured on the backwards side. I hope this isn't true. I love backwards Racer.
-
Nope I don't play games, I have better things to do with my money. LOL
-
Hehehehe, I thought you were videoing in the line that night.

I hate those Basketball as prizes. When I went to KD back in '98 they were giving them out deflated and I guess giving them an option of getting them filled on there way out of the park.

Most of the TV's this year were inaudible, I even seen several that didn't work the entire season. In my opinion the Q TV's were much better in the first few years they had them. Now it usually just music videos, the same ones at that, over and over again.

A shunt is a hole or passage which moves, or allows movement of, fluid from one part of the body to another.

Why in the world would they change Racer South to forwards? The Backwards Racer is a much more popular ride then forwards, and it's been going Backwards for 25 years. I'd really be upset if Racer Backwards is no more, I much prefer the backwards side to the forwards side any day.

I don't see Flight of Fear getting renamed, Paramount already did that, by removing Outer Limits from the name of the ride, because either they lost the right to use the License or chose not to renew it. The more I think about it, maybe they didn't renew the license because they were highly considering the Sound Wave re theme?

What Grade Do You Give Cedar Fair for Kings Island's 2007 Season?
PKIVortex replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
I give CF a B. Firehawk was awesome, but some of empolyees really left a bad taste in my mouth. Not just food workers, but some of the ride ops too. I thought one thing would improve under Cedar Fair would be capacity, but I'm sad to say it didn't, it may even got worse. Racer, and Vortex had some of the worst crews in years. Vortex would stack all 3 trains when they would run 3 trains, it was horrible, and it didn't feel very well, slamming into the brakes by SR&R. Also Racer crew was very slow, sometimes sitting in the station or readys for 5 minutes. However the entertainment department was great this year, I'm glad they had 5 live shows, 7 if you count the 2 HH shows. I'm looking forward what the shows are in store for 2008. The park was much cleaner this year, then years past. Food prices were outrageous though, and not worth the money. But for the first year of CF owning KI, they did a pretty good job, It should get better with time. -
I live in Englewood, which is a suburb of Dayton.

How would Congo Falls be better in BB? It's a ride designed to ride in your street clothes, not your bathing suit. It's not a water slide type of ride.

How many times did you visit Kings Island in 2007?
PKIVortex replied to italianchef's topic in KI Polls
18 visits for me. I visited the park more this season then I have for several years. -
I saw you a few times this evening on The Beast.
