This is off topic from the 'What's next for Son of Beast?' topic. I just wanted to point out that while riding Adventure Express today, I noticed that the cross-ties on the high banked turn after the first drop looked like those of an abandoned railroad. I never got to ride Son of Beast, but I doubt that the cross-ties looked-and could operate-like that. I mean, the thing looks like it is made with toothpicks and gum already, and it has been under the elements unmaintained for two years. I'm just afraid that history will repeat itself and a windstorm will backhand the Son of Beast.

New at Holiday World for 2012
HWBeast1039 replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yummy! I thought the Voyage was 6.5 mil? I'm thinking the dry addition will be in Fourth of July and the wet addition will be in between Voyage and Wildebeest. All just guesses. -
Today there were workmen there all day. At about 6:30 PM I heard a familiar sound. The Vortex's chain was going! There were no trains, just chains. This is definitely a good sign. An opening next week?

What Kings Island Coaster Would YOU Rename?
HWBeast1039 replied to mccarthysnerd's topic in Kings Island
I would put the old trains from Vampire at Chessington on Flight Deck, repaint it orange, and call it Revenge of The Bat -
I forgot to mention that they are iron-on logos. Pretty cheap to make, too!

Hey. I made these shirts of Phantom Theater and the Flight Deck. I made the Flight Deck logo myself using Paint.net. I made Flight Deck red just for kicks, to resemble the early years of Top Gun. What do you think?

New at Holiday World for 2012
HWBeast1039 replied to Colonel_SoB_fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
According to this video, Holiday World is announcing something big for 2012. Any ideas? We know it's not a steel coaster, so maybe a large flat? -
I did notice that Diamondback is rough compared to Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster, which are smooth as glass.

The Beast. The anticipation as you go down the hill into the double helix is simply amazing.

What originally brought you to visit Kings Island?
HWBeast1039 replied to McSalsa's topic in KI Polls
The first time I went to Kings Island was in Fourth of July 2009. We were inspired to go when we stayed at Great wolf lodge in March for spring break. I was deathly afraid of roller coasters. I warmed up on the kiddie coasters, the I finally rode The Racer. It was a blast. For a while I only rode The Racer and Backlot. We went to Holiday World and I rode the Legend 18 times in a row. The next time we went to KI I rode The Vortex and Flight of Fear. On a late night in 2010, I got my first ride on The Beast. That ride changed my coaster-life forever. The next morning I rode Diamondback and every other coaster at KI. We went back to KI a couple more times that season. In 2011, we went to Kings Island on Opening Day, Memorial Day Weekend, and July 8-9. On July 5-8, we went to Cedar Point. The first day we were there, I rode the Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Raptor, and Magnum. That night at around 11 o clock, I finally boarded the front seat of the yellow train of Millennium Force. The theme music was making me tremble in my seat. But as soon as I saw the view from the top, my hands flew up in the air and stayed there the whole time. It was the greatest coaster experience I've ever had...or so I thought. The next day I rode all the coasters Cedar Point had to offer, except one... Top Thrill Dragster. That thing was simply too fast for me to handle. The last day we were there, we got ERT on Raptor and Millennium, and rode some other rides. After riding Wicked Twister, something came over me. Like a soldier going into battle, I did a dignified walk down the midway to the Dragster. I waited through the line for an hour and a half. Finally, I boarded the Blackberry train as a single rider. We inched toward the starting position. I followed the instructions and looked strait ahead at the dragstrip. The christmas tree did its thing and we raced for the sky. I put my hands up and felt the wind in my face. The view from the top was simply breathtaking, and I hoped we got stuck so I could savor the view. But we quickly twisted back down to Earth at lightning speed. I rode it 4 times that last day. The next morning we packed up and headed for Kings Island. We rodeDiamondback 5 times during ERT. I rode WindSeeker twice. I must say that KI's is much better than Cedar Point's. That's the story of how a ride on The Racer turned me from a coaster weenie to a Ride Warrior. And that's my coaster biography. Anyone want a copy? -
OMG THAT'S IT!!! Thanks! Ironically, last time I rode FD someone in front of me was talking about soundhound...
-
Does anyone know what music is played in FD's queue? I like it and want to know what it is!

Yes, I definitely do see the difference. I still like arrow trains because of the classic feel of Arrow's suspended coaster. I think the floorless trains would be good on Iron Dragon, because that thing needs something to make it have an ounce of thrill. Flight Deck is thrilling as it is, so I don't think it needs the Vekoma trains. I would like to see them on the Iron Dragon, though.

Last week at Cedar Point, I rode the Millennium Force a good 6 times. One of the times, at the bottom of the hill, I blacked/grayed out. It seemed like I got tunnel vision, with the edges of my vision being extremely blurred and fuzzy. I hear Millennium Force pulls 4.5 g's at the bottom of the hill. I was fine on Dragster and all the other rides. Has this happened to anyone else on the Force? I hear I305 is the king of blackouts, and it is somewhat similar to Millennium Force.

Well, If the trains are anything like the ones on Flying Ace Aerial Chase, I am not a fan.

I can't think of 10 coasters, so I'll put some other defunct rides in there. 1. Big Bad Wolf 2.Phantom Theater, even though it's not a coaster. 3. The Banshee from Holiday World. 4. Drachen Fire 5.A re-tracked Son of Beast 6. Screamin' Demon 7. Orient Express 8. Great American Scream Machine 9. The Time Machine from Freestyle Music Park 10. Bavarian Beetle

Yes. I don't want theme to tear it down, but I would much rather put it out of its misery that to put those rough trains on it.
-
Repaint Flight deck to the original gray/red color scheme. Maybe rename it to Afterburn.
-
A few days ago I noticed that the stickers/decals on the Flight Deck trains have been removed. You can clearly see the outline of the where the logo used to be. One of the trains just says "Kings Island" and the other train doesn't have anything. The flooring where you put your feet is torn up very badly. This could mean that they are getting the trains ready to be shipped to another park and get new floorless trains. I really don't want this to happen. I don't consider the Vampire at Chessington to be an Arrow suspended coaster anymore because they got those Vekoma trains. The Vekoma trains don't swing very much and cause a lot of head banging. Do you think it would be good for FD to get new trains? Or do you like the classics?

Being dead must make you have terrible taste in women.

Today my brother and I were walking down the gargantuan queue path to Flight Deck to get into the line itself. There were two kids about 2 feet in front of us. We glanced over at SOB's exit path (btw, next chance you get, look at the dollar bills in SOB's exit path. we put them there. we call it the reopening fund). All of a sudden out of nowhere, an older woman is !IN BETWEEN! us and the kids! After a little bit she just got out of line towards the entrance/exit sign in the middle of the queue. She didn't talk to anybody, and no one seemed to pay attention to her. But you know how narrow Flight Deck's queue is. How could there be no one behind us in sight, and a woman pop up out of nowhere, and slide past us without us noticing? da da da da daaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Noy to mention all the trucks driving around FD and AE all day long.

Bert the Conqueror at Holiday World
HWBeast1039 replied to XGatorHead 8904's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I saw myself cheering for Bert, and one of the times it shows it going down the drop, it was the train with me and my friend on it. -
I went on Memorial Day weekend, and I am almost positive I heard the crashing sound! It's more of an electro-blast sound.
