Bert the Conqueror at Holiday World

<---------------My profile picture is from that day! It was a blast! I can't wait to see the episode! Here is the video me and my friend submitted http://www.youtube.c...h?v=JAtAOW9hqB0 -
Because they don't 'feel wooden'

Son of Beast was technically fixed in 2006. The son is supposed to be an animal, and removing the loop was basically neutering it. Sorry, I had to go there.
-
It's not really paramount, but on Diamondback, the ride op said, "Enjoy the rest of your day at Kings Island. Where else?"
-
I was going to make some cheesy joke, but I can't think of one.
-
I just think people hype it up for more than it is. It is not a bad ride, it is just not worth the wait. My favorite is still ZOOMbabwe.

We were originally scheduled for last Sunday, but weather delayed is to today. Anyway, the day started out as usual, sprinting to the Voyage as soon as the park opened. Then we took a dignity-rupturing ride on the Howler. We then came to our senses and got back on the Voyage. We rode in the back, then the front, then the front, then we took a small break by going in the Gobbler Getaway. After getting a whopping score of 60, I got some chicken and mashed potatoes at the Plymouth Rock Cafe. My dad decided that he would ride something, so we all went back in the dark ride. I went by myself on Pilgrims Plunge and since there was a small crowd, I got a double ride. After that, my brother and I rode the Pilgrims Plunge, followed with back-to-back-to-back Voyage rides. We took a breather on the Legend, which at this time had the longest line at the park. A bit later the water park opened, and took a ride on the way-overrated Wildebeest (I can hear the hate coming). Not trying to be rude, but some people have no business in bathing suits. After the emotional scarring, we took a few chilly rides on the Voyage. By then, most people were in the waterpark, so the actual park's lines had gone down a bit. We rode the Legend and Raven. For some reason after that we went on the Lewis & Clark trail twice. We took a ride on Liberty Launch, with a final Voyage ride and we were outta there. All in all, i enjoyed the trip!

We were in line for The Racer, and some kid asked the ride op how fast Diamondback went. The ride op said "67 miles per hour" Not to mention all the people who think AE is The Beast..

Bert came to Holiday World to ride the Voyage, and me and my friend won a contest to get to be there. The episode is supposed to air June 29.

Just checked the webcams and the dang thing is moving right now! Maybe Tower Johnny is out & about...

Personally, I don't think they'll ever tear down Son of Beast. I Think it will stand the way it is until KI absolutely has to tear it down because they ran out of expansion room. You have to admit, when driving past KI, seeing a giant wooden coaster makes you say, "Ooh! I wanna go there!" So the son is a liability, but also free publicity. Have you seen the 'Bred to Shred' commercial? It shows SOB with the loop. That is kinda false advertisement. Let's just hope Son of Beast's mother isn't mother nature.

I was being a stalker and watching the KI webcams early in the morning. I kept thinking that the dinosaur was moving. Take a look. This first image was taken at around 2:15 am. Notice the position of the dinosaur's head. This was at about 3 am. Compare the two photos. Isn't this dinosaur motion-activated? This again rises the topic of a possible haunting at Kings Island.

It would be cool to see maybe a B&M mega coaster at Holiday World, but they'd have to theme it awfully good to make me not say, "Holiday World, Why?" Because of the whole-not-wooden thing.

Awesome dream! From someone who has lucid and vivid dreams often I have read many dream books and I agree with TB from above.Something that might help with the explanation as well is if you remember if the trains were the originals, the G trains, or something new? I am sure KI would love to hear your dream on how to get it working correctly without major money! Might be worth bouncing the idea off an engineer at the very least? The weird thing about that was, the first time i went to KI was about 3 weeks after SOB closed, so I never got to ride it. I had only seen POV videos, so i never saw what the trains actually looked like. But this dream was so vivid, i remember the trains having a flush, glossy look to them, and the front was smoothly triangular. The next morning I awoke and didn't think it was a dream, and that it actually had happened. I went online to look and realized that it was a dream. I was bummed, but this got me slightly obsessed with the son, so I watched a bunch of Youtube videos and articles and stuff like that. Then, I saw this picture that showed the red train zooming by, and the train was eerily similar to the one in my dream. This was one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. I didn't know who to tell, so I came here

I definitely noticed the wheels were not moving.

WHAT? O.K. I am going to ignore the 2nd line. I have always thought from the first day I rode it that Top-Swoops-Deck has had tons of energy at the brake run. I could easily see a couple of elements added before the brake. How about a big swooping turn over the queue? Yeah, it really slams on the brakes. It could swoop over the queue and dip down low to the ground and THEN go into the brake run.

When the coaster doesn't get enough momentum to make it over a hill or inversion, it rolls back down the track. You typically see this on steel coasters, since wooden coasters have anti-rollback thingies.
-
Wooden coasters can't be safe over 80 feet? Racer Beast Mean Streak Voyage Legend Raven El Toro Boss American Eagle Ev- American Thunder etc... Another thing, When CF is seeing for 2-3 years if the Texas Giant treatment is worthwhile for the son, are they just going to let SOB sit and rot for another 3 years? Doesn't wood need periodic coatings of anti-rot-icides to make it safe from bugs and weather?

Thank you so much for this great picture!!!!!

I had the weirdest dream. In my dream I was walking around Kings Island like normal. Then I looked up, and there was a train going up the hill on Son of Beast. Then, a little bit later, another train was going. A crowd started to gather. Everyone was cheering. It may sound just like a weird dream, but it seemed so real. I saw details that normally aren't in a dream. Am I insane? Was this a dream? Or a premonition? (queue spooky music)

"Is that The Beast?" pointing to the Adventure Express. "The Beast was made after a movie."

I bent down underneath the farthest on on the right. I think it was the one that kinda looked like Benjamin Franklin xD

Hi. As you all know the dark rides after Phantom Theater pretty much replaced every there was relating to Phantom Theater. But, remember the faces that followed you in the looooooooooooooooong daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark musty hallway? Well, when the sally ride came, they put a bunch of spooky boards over them. But they didn't remove them. They are still under there! I rode the Sally ride (Boo Basters?), and I snuck a quick peek under the boards and the inverted faces are still there. Pretty cool, huh? You should check them out if it doesn't embarrass you to go in a kiddie ride (haha jk).
