I thought I should start a new topic about Soak City so that we could post construction updates, pictures, and anything else about the new for 2012 Soak City at Kings Island. As of right now according to KI's facebook page, construction (demolition) has already began.

Thats pretty fast to get started on work, hopefully Vortex is an even better ride next year. But you knew it was coming....... Maybe the next Winter rehab that needs done is SOB

What did you think of the 2011 season? Was it better than last year? Does it need improvement? Whats your opinion looking back, now that the season is officially over?

Knowing KI's last patch ups on SOB they might just use this type of glue and use a paint roller to put it on....

As being a STRONG Son of Beast fan and enthusiast I don't see SOB being torn down but yet I could also be wrong. I think SOB has a GOOD chance of reopening just as I have said before. I also think that by the clues KI has given us towards its reopening have helped me develop this opinion. So as far as i'm concerned.... Son of Beast WILL MOST LIKELY OPERATE IN 2012 OR 2013 and if not then I was wrong and KI probably thought about it even more financialy and being a safe structure and as I said most likely based on the clues and information given.

And I thought this horse had been sent to the glue factory long ago. Some of us didn't even know this was a horse. With the name Son Of BEAST one would assume that it is some type of large beast of a creature not a horse

Sorry to start anything else but, Is the new rumor true about KI doing some type of work by SOB and back behind it?

My opinion is that the Crypt is fine right where it is and it would attract less riders if outside.

I don't know why Cedar Point gets to fix Mean Streak right now when SOB is first in line? but you know Cedar Point is Cedar Fairs premier park

I am one of those few people and I would probably ride it now even if that meant going to the hospital (joke), though I'm not going to risk my life

Kings Islands best kept secret is to me riding Flight of Fear, and Firehawk in the early moring. While rushing to the back of the park as quick as you can. I just had to bring this one up... Cedar Fair's best kept secret is Son of Beast

What I believe is that the prop was just to get us thinking and whomever wrote the date and put the sign and grave up didn't and don't know anything about SOB's future, However I dont think SOB is going anywhere and that it has a GOOD chance of reopening "some day". As far as Cedar Fair goes, I think they most likely already know what their doing with SOB and part of that is not telling anybody (Kings Island) about it yet.

Maybe this is when Cedar Fair steps in to somehow operate the park

I know that the deadline for Hart reopening KK in 2012 is soon so has anyone heard anything new on KK?

Maybe all the past things that the Dippin' Dots Guy's have been telling us were fake just so that we wouldn't suspect to believe it now? Maybe I smell something too!!! But I think that this smell is a good one (SOB 2012)

As for my opinion I believe that Cedar Fair should have left all of the paramount things the same including the ride names because thats just a way of showing the parks history instead of trying to cover it up with stickers (WWC)

I guess all we can do now is wait and "see" what KI says about SOB, or wait and watch it rot while sitting SBNO on KI's property

paramount should just regain ownership of KI and reopen SOB because that was "paramounts baby"

I heard this information from a VERY believable resource but as I said it is being "CONSIDERED" by Kings Island

I just heard that Kings Island is highly considering "timberliner" trains for SOB in the 2012 season!!!
