Wow, great trip report, It sounds like you guys had alot of fun!

Of course, coming from me you can expect something like this BUT...... I just wanted to know, what the best thing is to YOU about Son of Beast. Seats, Cars, Old Loop, Lift Hill Etc. If you don't like anything about it than I'm really not sure what to tell you but that you must have rode it on the wrong day!

Does anyone have any opening day pictures that they are willing to share here on KIC? Not trying to be nosy, I was just wondering what everybody elses pictures looked liked?

My theory is that this was "probably" just a commercial and was hinting at nothing, or more other hints would have probably already showed up. The real thing is that usually enthusiasts wait for something like this to come along or search to find this so that something can keep them busy. BUT.... Me and Son of Beast is a whole other story........

What is your expirience on Backlot Stunt Coaster (Italian Job Stunt Track) at Kings Island? Do you like the restraints? Are they uncomfortable? Do you wish Paramount Still ran the ride? How about those old water effects? Whats YOUR overall rating of the ride, and is it worth the sometimes long wait?

Since I am mccarthysnerd, I Don't understand text language, and never probably will. But I try to figure the abbreviations out sometimes. Yours confused me a little. But anyway, welcome to KIC KingsIsland vs. Cedarpoint !! and you will get used to Terpy, just like all of us did (yes I like to use Smiley faces) After being here a while, you will notice if you already have not, that I am the one whom takes care of most of the talking about Son of Beast and I will periodically ask how your ride expiriences are on certain rides, like now I'm going to make one on Backlot Stunt Coaster.

We'll Wildcat, I've known you for a while and this is going to be a sad and sudden goodbye. I think, if Kinzel were still here you would have had 1 more good year left in you (2012 Season) but thats beside the point. I guess this is Goodbye and a farewell, I guess, now you are going to a place where many Coasters and rides have visited and never came back, That place is called the scrapyard. There you will find freinds such as King Cobra, Jumbo Jet, Screamin Demon, and most importantly, you will find a good freind in the Deep, Dark, Evil, Demented, Former Loop of Son of Beast. Goodbye Wildcat,We've had a good ride, but don't worry Disaster Transport will be there to visit soon!

I watched webcams for testing and I'm watching them throughout the day today but from the looks of it, WindSeeker, and Vortex are not running yet?

Thats the first thing I thought, was that there was a section with Scooby Doo etc. I wonder if that was some type of 40th anniversary special merchandise or if something else is going on..... It does look like ne of those main shops as u enter the park and I know, for sure that scooby doo, blues clues, and more, were not there last year or any years that Cedar Fair owned the park

mccarthysnerd, taking his "turn" at the topic that he discusses quite often acually. I know that Kings Island does not take "turns" with the sections of the park that they want to remodel/refurbish/restore etc. They choose whichever section that they feel needs restored and cleaned up the most or in there opinion, the "flagship" section of the park at the time being. As I have said before, Son of Beast could be reopened and it may never, Action Zone could get a new coaster and it could never get one.... There are numerous posibilities as to what could happen with Action Zone and when it will be re-done if it ever is. I would like to see SOB refurbished or something but who knows. (not me)

The Beast (There's nothing else to be said)

I know (almost know) for sure that Son of Beast is NOT collapsing at all.... BUT It is not an operating woodie which therefore leaves it to not be fully maintained. KI keeps it cleaned up, and standing but does NOT preform regular daily observations and maintenence like rides such as Adventure Express, Diamondback, etc.

I think somewhere down the road such as the next 2-3 years they might decide to get a water coaster and hopefully with a storyline behind it... (which Cedar Fair has proven to not be very good at) They can call their new water coaster, Tears Of The Beast

I thought that the start connecting, gold pass advertisement on KI's front page was akward considering that it has a picture of Maverick on it?

Which operating Roller Coaster at Kings Island has the most uncomfortable trains/cars? Do you think just the cars need replaced, or the whole coaster needs Demolished/Refurbished?

I just found this video posted on SF's Youtube about what seems to be Mr. Freeze at Six Flags St. Louis and my guess is a new ride expirience such as launching backwards?
