  1. I could care less what the color of the ride is as long as it's a good ride. If you could care less, then you do care some. jcgoble3, beating Terpy to the punch Wish I had the guts to tell my teacher whenever he says "I could care less about your conversation" or something like that, that if he could care less, he cares some. Gotta play it safe though.
  2. Where the Rivertown Junction buffet use to be located, in Rivertown to the right of Diamondbacks lift hill.
  3. As I said, the guy who asked me about KIC had a nametag that said _____ and IIRC identified him as a supervisor. That fits with what you said, since _____ would be a common shorthand for _____ . Indeed it was _____.
  4. Last Saturday, I was watching my sister at a skating show, when I was told my friend Nathan invited me to come to Kings Island with him. After the show, I went home, got ready, headed to my friend’s house, and went to Kings Island. There was Nathan, Nathan’s dad, and his 2 younger siblings, 8 year olds, Owen and Emma. Nathan’s dad took Owen and Emma to Planet Snoopy and we agreed to meet at 1PM at the Eiffel Tower. So, Nathan and I decided to start off on the Eiffel Tower. We got into line as they were getting people on, and we were just short of getting on the next ride. So, we waited about 5 minutes before the next elevator came down. We went into the elevator and headed on up. By the looks of it, Diamondback had just opened up as we got to the top, so we decided to make that our next stop before the line gets extremely long. We also checked out construction. Sorry for the quality, it’s a digital zoom. There was lots of buses for music in the parks! So, after observing all the fun from the Eiffel Tower, we headed to Diamondback. When in line, they opened up the switchback leading into the queue house, which just kept filling up as the day went on. New signs in Diamondbacks queue. So, after waiting about 15 minutes, we got onto Diamondback. It was a great first ride of the year on Kings Island’s tallest and fastest coaster! (At least for now…) Next, we agreed on heading to WindSeeker. It was great to see WindSeeker kicking again! We ended up having to wait again, just like on Eiffel Tower, at the front of the line for the next cycle. We waited about 15 minutes to ride WindSeeker. We waited in our seats for what seemed like forever until the ride started. Now that WindSeeker is open, WindSeeker is where you can get the best view of the new evacuation system. After a fun, cold, windy ride on WindSeeker, we realized we were running short on time until 1. We decided to check if Adventure Express had a short enough line to get a quick ride in. Isn’t this the spot for the Flight Commander queue line? Oh, and there is a sweet looking Colts flag on that fence over there. When we got to the entrance, we decided not to risk waiting in the somewhat long line to be late. We decided for our last 20 minutes to go over and look at the construction site. No more water tower. Xtreme Skyflyer’s new sign. Someone already ripped the sticker. What happened to Servatti? When we got to the Eiffel Tower, it took about 20 minutes for the others to come as well. Once they finally got here, we discussed on something to eat. Nathan and I ended up going to Hanks, and we would meet the others after in the Festhaus. There was a long line at Hanks, that moved so slow. I finally ordered my Taco Salad. Nathan waited for me, as he wanted “a hamburger”. When I got everything, Nathan’s dad said they headed to Chick-Fil-A as the Festhaus was packed. I found a seat next to the huge Chick-Fil-A line as Nathan went to PS Grill to get a burger. I ate my Taco Salad, and eventually Nathan got back with a hamburger and Owen, Emma, and Brian shared Chick-Fil-A. I wasn’t able to finish my taco salad, but still, $7 is not a bad price for something at Kings Island that I wasn’t able to finish. We discussed on what to do next, and decided on heading to Adventure Express. Emma and Brian waited for us, as Emma wasn’t ready to ride yet. This was going to be Owen’s first ride. There was a full queue that ended up taking about 20 minutes. I had a separator notice my KIC shirt, and wondered what my username was. Hmm… Wonder if he is on here… Anyway I got into row 3-2 and Owen and Nathan were behind me. There was a problem with the exit gate, that eventually got fixed, and everyone in the station cheered. So after that, we set off on our mysterious adventure through 4 tunnels, twists and turns, and a mysterious, big, wood, oh wait. It was clear to see that SOB took up a HUGE amount of space on the ride. The ride was, as always, lots of fun, and Owen really enjoyed his first ride on AE. After that, we met Emma and Brian in Coney Confections, and we split up yet again, as they went off to some more new adventures… We decided on heading to Flight Deck. The line started about where this picture was taken and ended up being about 30 minutes. We went into the front row, the pilot’s seats. Our previous mission, to destroy SOB, has been completed. We weren’t sure what our next mission would be, until Great Wolf Lodge started attacking! We had a slight slowdown on our way up, but we were able to manage our way to the top. Then suddenly, we were hit! We were sent straight down, so fast, then up and down again! We twisted and turned until we reached the Flight Deck again. Good thing we got away! I suggested our next stop to be Grand Carousel. We waited about 5 minutes until we boarded our ponies and went in a circle. A nice, calm ride. We then worked our way towards Vortex. We ran into the others on our way past Backlot. They were going to ride Backlot, but the line was an hour. It turns out they Owen and Emma rode WindSeeker for the first time, and enjoyed it. We then proceed our way towards Vortex. Here, I liked how it looked like Diamondback was running into Vortex. We waited a total of about 25 minutes and rode in 5-1. It was a great ride on Vortex! We decided next to head to Zephyr. Zephyr was about a 10 minute wait. A nice ride on a swing, yeah. Nathan wanted to do Dodgems, so we went there. We waited about 5 minutes. I purposely bumped him. A lot. After this, I kind of wanted a snack, so I bought a churro. It was about $4 and it was pretty long. It was pretty good. We took a walk through Tower Gardens on our way to International Street. We headed onto International Street and waited for the others. They soon caught up, and we headed out, and with that, our trip ended. A couple of Notes: *I didn’t notice anything closed today, surprisingly. *On a crowded day, it’s always nice to go around and ride some of the smaller flat rides. *I’m really curious about that construction. Thanks for reading!
  5. Thanks for the report! 45 rides is more than I got in a 15 hour day with Fast Lane!
  6. Now I remember... That has happened to me a couple times... Thank goodness nobody saw me!
  7. We had an off day today for some reason. It was a perfect day to go though. I get out the 23rd I got out the 23rd too, and I have an off day Friday...for some reason. lol. Wow! I want to go to your schools! Mine doesn't get out until the 29th.31st. Anyone wanna top that?EDIT: Looks like Xenia wins.
  8. I don't really call this that embarrassing, but a few years ago I was in line for Flight of Fear, and had a group of teenagers in front of me, and I could tell some of them were scared. Then one turned around to me and she was like "This little kid is riding and he's not scared! Have you rode this before"? I said I do all the time, and then they go back to their group complaining that a "6 year old" can ride it with no problem, but they are scared, or something like that. Like I said, it was a few years ago, so I can't remember it all that well.
  9. Great Trip Report Original! Thanks for sharing your day!
  10. As long as being out down a few notches so the queue is visible.
  11. Oh ok. I thought you meant the attraction itself. Carry on.
  12. The go karts are gone. Just saying.
  13. Great trip report Brad! Thanks for sharing with us!
  14. We got at the park around 6:45PM, after my baseball game (Which by the way we won 5-4). We took separate cars, my mom and sister in one car, and my dad and I in another, in case it rained and my dad wanted to head home. We waited in the entrance for about 10 minutes, until my mom and sister came. We decided on heading to the Eiffel Tower, to see the former Son of Beast sight and check out the lines. When we got to Eiffel Tower, I saw something I’ve never seen, the elevator was stuck. Kids were just waving and stuff through the windows. We didn’t want to wait for them to get back down, so we decided to make our first ride of the year The Racer. There was about 4 switchbacks open which resulted in about a 15 minute wait. Also, instead of just part of the middle fence, the whole fence in The Racer station was now removed. We chose Red side and got towards the middle of the train for our first ride of the year! The ride was fun, and it was great to get back on a coaster again! It was pretty smooth for the front seat of the car. You could also see WindSeeker’s evacuation system in the turnaround. From here, we kept texting KICers to try to get in a group, but they were in line for Firehawk. We decided to check out the Flight of Fear line, but decided not to do it, because it would probably be the last ride of the night. They did get a nice, new estimated wait time sign, along with a few other rides. We ended up talking some more about what to do, and decided on trying out the Reds Hall of Fame Grille. We were surprised to see not many people here, probably because it was after most people ate dinner, but we were quickly seated and handed our menus. The menu had about 6 Reds trivia questions, which were cool to have. It took a while for a waitress to come, but in about 10 minutes one did. My dad and I split some ribs, while the girls split chicken tenders. The TV’s had ESPN, a current baseball game between the Cardinals and somebody, and a Reds classic highlight thing, which made it a very sporty atmosphere. We decided to get up and look around while waiting for our food. The theme was done really well, and there was all kinds of classic Reds memorabilia. After gazing around for about 10 minutes, we headed back to our seats, and an appetizer my parents ordered, which was chips and some dip thing, was already there. In about 5 minutes, the rest of our food was here. The ribs weren’t anything special. They were dry and overcooked. Kind of tasted like jerky. The service was asking how everything was, and we reported how the ribs were. Everything else was really good. But, the ribs weren’t as good as what I’d heard from media day. They weren’t awful, but they weren’t worth $20. I also recalled seeing someone on KIC post about a 10% discount on all food purchases for Gold Passholders, but they said they didn’t have it. So: Pros: *Theme was excellent, all kinds of stuff for any Reds fan to look at. *Service was fairly nice, for me anyway, but I heard different stories from others. *The rest of the food was all good. *Plenty of TV’s to watch whatever. Cons: *Ribs were overcooked, not worth $20. *Wouldn’t accept any discounts. After eating, we kept texting a KIC group, and decided to meet them at The Beast. A new fence replaced the trash cans and plants and photo booths that used to block The Crypt entrance. We ran into malem, Beastie1980, Original, Muppetfan, Beastie’s mom and sister, firebeastoffear, and I believe that is it. It was around 8:50 and we walked into a full Beast queue, with the exception of a couple switchbacks in the first queue house and one switchback on the rear side of the station switchbacks, which I haven’t seen the switchbacks in the station used in forever. We kept discussing whether or not we would make it before the fireworks started. 40 minutes later when we reached the station switchbacks, we realized we wouldn’t make it before fireworks, and met our fate that this was the last ride of the night. There was plenty of cheers and stuff we started in the loud Beast station. There was a nice 4 minute firework show, which was a great way to end Opening day. Well, actually, we were ending Opening Day on a Beast night ride! After the fireworks, we waited about an additional 20 minutes to get on. Including fireworks, the total wait was about 1 hour 40 minutes. So, that makes me thing a full queue for Beast is only about just over a 1 hour wait. Ready to roll! I rode with my dad for my second ride of the year. The ride was amazing! And on the second lift hill, the people in front of us were asking if this was another drop, and it sure was! We raced through the pitch black tunnels, through the dark woods, until we safely made it back to the station. We headed out now, cause what else was there to do? They probably wanted us out anyway. There was lots of texting going on throughout the day for me to try to get my shirt. At the front entrance, we met Gator and he had my shirt. We also walked through a nice Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular on the way. Big thanks to Indyguy4KI and XGatorHead for eventually getting my shirt. When we left the park, we chatted with Gator and it started to rain. Perfect timing. A great day. A couple of notes: *I think 2 rides in a day might be an all time low for me *There was all kinds of new little things throughout the park. I also can’t wait to see what will happen in Action Zone! *Not quite sure what rides were closed, but I believe many went down during the day and WindSeeker was not open. Thanks for reading! Also, here's a quick video from the day.
  15. ^^ I also ran into Eiffel Tower being shut down cause the elevator was stuck.
  16. Summer's coming!

  17. The new evacuation system is behind a fence around Dinosaurs Alive 3D, and it's viewable while riding The Red Racer.
  18. Based on what I've recently seen, about a 30-50% chance of rain, with highs in the upper 60's and lows around 50.
  19. I'd love Reds day to return!
  20. Whenever I try to edit my signature, it always says I can only use up to 6 lines, while I only used 3.
