I like coasters that are visually striking, there are times like to watch rides (The Beast being the exception) as much as ride them. The pressure treated lumber is disappointing to me I miss the painted look on wooden coasters. Beyond that air time, misdirection and head choppers are always good.

If there really is common sense more people would have it.

I made it a couple of days without Kings Island PR saying this post contains inaccurate information.

On The Beast tour Don told us all the footers would be removed, and there would be no sign it ever existed.

My wife and I renewed our passes last Friday with the 20.00 coupon. They used the discount for hers so she got a new pass for '13 and has to use her current pass this season. I kept my old pass and the total cost for botth with 20.00 off was 139.00.

If there is the probability the park could reach capacity is it possible new guests could get turned away due to re-entries?

You got a '14 already?

The steel will become your 2014 Kia.

Back in the 70's there were park full signs on 71.

When I saw the police I thought we might get held to make a statement, but I guess they had enough to act on based on their own mouths.

Getting stuck on Kings Island roller coasters.
Diamondbill replied to tuxedoman52's topic in Kings Island
Hey Rustbelt was Blazing Fury last November? If it was I probably walked down with you. My buddy and I were stuck on the brake run of Carowinds version of Firehawk, it doesn't have a duel loading platform and there was a problem with the restraints on the train in the station so we sat for 45 minutes with our hips higher than our heads. About 15 minutes in they came up and asked if anyone would like a drink, we were all like sure would but do you want to tell us how to drink in this position. -
My wife and I were in line for The Beast on a Saturday night and a woman, about a ten year old boy, a fifty something man and a teenage boy got behind us, they were mouthing off back and forth and the teenager kept cussing at the boy and the woman. I tell my wife great tonight on a very special Springer...when I hear the woman quitely calling security, that's when I realized they weren't together. I had the woman and boy go ahead of us while they waited for security to get there, the man and teenager were both drunker than monkeys and didn't seem to want to mess with me. They were stupid enough to tell security that they did threaten the woman, the man saying " I can knock her on her -ss she isn't older than me". I told security that I better not see them in the parking lot because they were both wasted and to my suprise they were being loaded into a Mason cruiser when we were on the brake run.

Since I've been critical on this thread I would like to share today's experience. My wife wanted a cup of water when we were walking back to The Beast so we went to the Potato Works, she was greeted by Zachery who had a smile on his face, moved quickly, gave us two cups of water she only asked for one and thanked her for coming. On a unrelated note we watched Remember When the 70's and were trying to figure out who the one hit wonders were, we couldn't figure out three of them. We asked a lady whose name was Joellen i believe ( I can remember the 70's but not what I was doing five minutes ago) she was the talent supervisor about some of the artists and she said she had put together a book about all the songs for the performers to study. She the told us if we wanted to wait a few minutes she would get it and look up who the one hit wonders were. We had a few laughs reminiscing with her before she had to get to her next obligation.

I think they could update the alien to something that doesn't look like a pile of dog poop.

Maybe RCCA is quite because they are designing a wooden version of TTD it would have multiple helices obviuosly.

We waited close to three hours for our one and only ride on The Bat. I don't have that much patience anymore.

Kings Island selling "Beast Backstage Tours" for $25
Diamondbill replied to McSalsa's topic in Kings Island
Just took the tour this afternoon. Don KingsIslandPR gave the tour and it's worth every dime. Since he's within a couple of years of my age we had a lot of history to discuss. Don was very candid with every question we asked him, and no I won't quote him so I can't be accused of talking to the Dippin' Dots guy. It's best to book the tour and ask what you want. Just like he said the tour was right at an hour plus we talked all the way out to International Street as we were leaving. Don't be like me and not bring a camera he sets you up for great shots. -

That's better than Hitler reacting to the Mustang Boss 302. If you look it up it's not child friendly this is your warning.

I could go way out on a limb a say design a woodie and steel to go together, they seem to be pretty good at snaking one through and around each other, imagine if it was actually planned out ahead of time.
-
Would love to see a GG woodie go in that area, just met the guys at Gravity Group yesterday they're a great bunch and we could use another home built ride to go with Diamondback.
-
Thanks everybody.

In my lifetime I have played football, pole vaulted, high jumped, and raced bmx. I have been a mechanic for 35 years and I currently drive dragsters. I am no stranger to physical abuse or high g forces. I rode SOB a week before the accident that led to the removal of the loop and felt the jolt at the bottom of the Rosebowl, it was one of the worst pains I felt in my life. I still rode after the loop was removed but it was never a comfortable ride so I am not sad to see it go. I can certianly understand that it wasn't pleasant for others that are probably smarter with how they treat their bodies than me. To me it is a smart business decision. Can you imagine the battery of lawyers waiting by the exit to ask how your ride was if it reopened. Just remember if you get sued and you win you still lose. But this is just the opinion of a sissy.
